Cover Ups In The Gurdwara

Yesterday at around 2pm an elderly Sikh lady was pushed and punched in the face by a young Punjabi man over a small misunderstanding relating to the degh sewa at a Gurdwara Karamsar in Ilford. This resulted in the elderly lady suffering some clear facial injuries and having a severe nose bleed in the darbar sahib whilst the younger Punjabi man simply sat doing the degh sewa. It was apparent from the young man's demeanour that his mental state was unstable. The elderly lady, who for several minutes, was still bleeding and her eyes had now begun to swell up was taken to the Langer hall.

The Gurdwara Sahib was quite busy at the time and people went to the committee room in order for the Police and Ambulance services to be called. The members of committee and one of the Granthi's remained seated in the office whilst they sent some other Gurdwara sewadars (a small group of "faujies") up to confront the young man. They grabbed the young man, escorted him out of the Gurdwara, "scolded" him and told him not to come back.

It was disheartening and disgusting that no Emergency call was made by the committee who remained fixed to their chairs. When asked several times to call an ambulance, the Granthi commented by saying that this would become a Police case and it's not good for the Gurdwara. Eventually the elderly lady was persuaded that she did not need an ambulance as the bleeding had stopped and was asked to go home. Some members of the sangat took it upon themselves call an ambulance for the lady and took her outside the Gurdwara.

The young Punjabi man was later seen walking around half a mile from Gurdwara Karamsar in the direction of Gurdwara Singh Sabha.

The reason I believe this incident needs to be discussed is because what the committee, the Granthi and other sewadars of the Gurdwara did was encourage a "cover up". Instead of thinking of the welfare of the elderly lady and of other members of the public, they let an unstable dangerous man onto the street so that their Gurdwara would not be tarnished. They left an elderly lady to suffer threatening injuries without medical help. All so that the name of a Gurdwara would not get tarnished.

Where's the "HONOUR" in that!!!! Where's the SIKHI in that!!!! I don't think the committee and granthi of this Gurdwara deserve to have the luxury of sweeping this incident under the carpet.....

What annoys me is this hear no evil, see no evil attitude that exists in most of us today. The elderly lady's family kicked off with the committee yesterday and I don't blame them...all the committee had to do was call the emergency services and report the crime to the Police. The assailant was sitting for at least a good half hour in the Gurdwara and he could have been handed over to the authorities instead of a "pindu telling off". Now all the committee have done is let this man (who clearly needs some professional help as well) back out to perhaps assault another elderly lady in another Gurdwara or on the street.

Well.. at least the committee had some level of intelligence and got someone to mop the blood up and shampoo the carpet where the blood stained....

This has got to be one of the most horrific things I have heard recently - my blood is boiling and I can feel the surge of energy Maharaj has blessed his Khalsa with to protect the vulnerable and needy.

All I can see in my mind is that bachari bibi ji being hit by the kala devil.

Sikh's most of you pretend to care about Sikhi, Punjab, Virsa and Family Honour but most of you are backward wannabe coconut cowards who want to live the FAKE ego existence with money, power and lust - GO TO HELL if you don't even know right from wrong - I've seen on tv 3 year old kids who have phoned for an ambulance when they see someone has been hurt?????

This Committee need to be investigated as there have been clear breachs of Duty Of Care and Health & Safety of the public attending the GuruGhar where they have allowed violence on the premises and NOT reported the CRIME to the POLICE.

If I was the family I would get the BBC NEWS Channel, Help The Aged, MIND mental health, Panjab Radio etc involved maybe the Committee will think twice before trying to cover-up again - I know the area maybe I should start attending and asking questions???
