The order of the yugs was Satyug, Tretayug and Dwaparyug (now in kalyug)but getting to the question my parents told me once they read somewhere that dwaparyug was meant to come before tretayug but they can't remember the story telling why does anyone have any info on this? :T:

vwihgurU jI kI &iqh!!

I also used to think that dwapar (dwa = 2 in sanskrit - so its the second Yug) should come before treta (tre = 3 in sanskrit - so its the third Yug). But Waheguru knows better, so why worry

very simple question and a simple answer.

Gautam who was a great sage once went out of his house and the god indra was very lustful over the wife of the great sage. What he did was transform himself into the form of Gautam and come and slept with his wife. She had no idea of the deception.

The moon was aware of this incident and had helped create a dark night in order for Indra devta to perform his act.

In the morning the God Indra had left and Gautam had returned. He learned of what had occured and cursed the God Indra who had his body covered with 1000 female genitalia, the beauty of the moon was destroyed and suffered pot marks making it look like as we see it today. Gautum then turned his wife into a stone. However after he cursed her he realised that this incident was no fault of his wife and was due to trickary and deception.

He stated that The great God Ram was to be born in the Treta Jug and would come and bring her back to her human form. However he stated that before that Krishan would come during Dwapar age. Due to the guilt feeling and realisation that his wife should not guilty and have to wait til Dwaper had finished and Ram arrived he swapped the Jugs over. Thus is the reason why treta then came before Dwapar.

Ram eventually went to that placed and washed his feet on the stone which turned into the human form and Ram as well as the great sages wife narrated the story.

This story comes up in Ram Avtar in the Sri Dasam Guru Darbar

Hope that answers your question
