ConfusedAndFloating Phaenji,

In gurbani it says see other woman as your sister, daughter or mother.. No parents or brother in this world regardless of their religion/race/creed would like to see their sister/daughter/mother dancing semi naked in front of the whole world. So.. to us they are our sisters and we do have right to think good about them within the boundaries.. We are not forcing our views on them nor our religious institutions ever forced them to follow something that they dont want to.. It is only in SIKHI religion that we all human are given the birth right to choose what we want to be.. If someone chose wrong path then we should try to help them out if they need help.. Now, one may say, How can we be sure that whether they need our help or not.. Well, we can only find out by approaching them :)

As mentioned above in one post.. It is our parent generation fault who didn't gave these young girls a chance to look at sikhi dharam and live their life as by sikhi lifestyle.. some replies are stupid in this topic but majority of us wants to eliminate this alien culture from our Punjabi Sikh Culture..

Maybe their parents did give them a chance to look at Sikhi dharam, and they may have rejected it. But i agree with everything else that you said! Very rational and not one sided.

Panjab2000.co.uk have refused to put up the video ,they should be applauded for the steps they have taken.

http://punjab2000.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=Bhangra&action=display&thread=15576

We at Punjab2000 already decide not to put the video up when it was sent to us a few days back, for pretty much the same reason that a lot of people are saying.

We were not going to mention it at first, but have now decided to, to voice our views

Overall the quality of the video, as in production is fine, but it the contents of the video that we are not happy with.

We don't nomally get involved in the politics of video's, but this time we felt we had to.

We will be speaking to VIP records about the contents to and will post any feedback on this thread

Thank you

Punjab2000

what is that scum bag Davinder Bal doing about this video? It been playing constantly on his channel.

the guy who takes sangat money on one hand to fund a studio where he promotes our girls as whores on the other channel.

The panth is being abused by these type of corrupt business men. "claim today".. more like "fraud today!" a whole system based on falsifying and grossly exaggerating mishaps.

Lets make one thing clear.. the Sikh Channel is NO charity. It is a cleverly planned business venture in which we win on one side (for how long?) and have drink and kunjar lifestyle promoted on the other channel from the same studio- paid for by.. yes you guess it clean minded Sikhs!

Guru Golak is being abused left right and centre these days

its sickening beyond belief

The best chance we have of helping our sisters and brothers is becoming saints/ Brahmgyanis.

Everyone says we should help everyone else but to do this we need to change their thinking/ be able to help them control their minds(and the monstrous strength of the demons within) by blessing them with naam and protecting them with Gods jyot. How can we preach and change others if we ourselves are not perfect. Noone will heed our words like people did our Guru's words, heed our words like people heeded the words of our holy sants and brahmyanis and still do today. Maya will always fight back/ always replant those doubts and delusions, the girls will stay in their demented states just as we all have, living so far from the truth and happy to let kaljug/ evil darkness slip into our thoughts and bodies.

A brahmgyani can lift one out of this ocean with a glance so we should all aspire towards being that, becoming the true khalsa in which the light of god is ever shining and pervading within us, the True khalsa that does not think a single bad thought who thinks of god every single second and never fails to do this, the true khalsa that Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji has described.

FINALLY! SOMEONES REALIZED!

BOYCOTT DAVY BAL.

Many people realised this straight away, but kept hush for the greater good, i.e. our own TV station.

But in the long term, the model can not continue, why should we have to compromise Gurbani with kanjur lifestyle promoted from the same studio?

This is no different from party- hall Gurdwaras- abuse of Sangat's Golak.

Anyone listen to the BBC AN discussion programme today? It started about females who dress inappropriately in Gurudwara's (but was then expanded to all places of worship). I only caught the first 20 minutes or so on my lunchbreak, but there was one caller who seemed to think "2010 = lets get freaky".

Anybody catch the rest of it?

    • Part of the problem is the hostilities between India and Pakistan. If the border were open, Amritsar would easily become a huge trading city. Secondly, the National Highways Authority of India is constructing a new 6-lane expressway from Kashmir, through Amritsar/Jalandhar/Ludhiana to Dehli which will be part of the Ludhiana-Delhi-Kolkatta Industrial Corridor.  Maps of the New Silk Road show Kolkata as a key part of the "road". The Punjab to Kolkata expressway and rail connections will fulfill the ability to hook up to the New Silk Road.  In addition, while crossing to Pakistan via AH1 (Asian Highway 1) is difficult, India does connect to AH1 on the other side, towards the East. Finally, Punjab can trade with the world via Mundra port in Gujurat. Rail to Mundra, then sea onwards. Dubai is very close with a free port. If you send products to Iran, there are ground links onward to Europe.
    • Yeah, that's one possibility. Another I initially thought is that it's a Muslim trying to gather info. But then, you might ask, how does he know about Sikh textual sources. Well, you'd be surprised at their resourcefulness. A final possibility is he's a weak Sikh who was asked a question by a non-Sikh and now he's suddenly feverishly wondering where it's "written" that you can't marry a young child. To the latter, I would say, you're looking in the wrong spot. Gurbani isn't a 1428 page rulebook, like Leviticus or the Vedas: ਸਿਮ੍ਰਿਤਿ ਸਾਸਤ੍ਰ ਪੁੰਨ ਪਾਪ ਬੀਚਾਰਦੇ ਤਤੈ ਸਾਰ ਨ ਜਾਣੀ ॥ ਤਤੈ ਸਾਰ ਨ ਜਾਣੀ ਗੁਰੂ ਬਾਝਹੁ ਤਤੈ ਸਾਰ ਨ ਜਾਣੀ ॥ The Simritis and Shastras discriminate between charity and sin, but know not the essence of the Real Thing. Without the Guru, they know not the essence of the Reality, know not the essence of the Reality. Anand Sahib.
    • You're confusing two different things: One is merely adding starch to a turban to get a certain feel to the fabric. The other is tying your turban once and taking it off like a hat. It is this that people have a problem with. What's wrong with it is that Rehit says to tie your turban afresh every time. If you ask, "Where is that written?", it's written in Bhai Nand Lal ji's Rehitnama. @ipledgeblue didn't just make it up. Umm, no, bro. We're not evangelical Christians like President George W Bush of the US claiming to "talk to God" who told him to invade Iraq. "Speaking to him directly" basically ends up being doing whatever you feel like with the excuse that Guru ji told you to do it. If you still want to take your turban off like a hat, feel free to do so, but don't claim that it's Rehit.
    • You don't need to wear either a pag or dumalla in the gym. You can simply wear a meter or 1.5m small turban (gol pagg or round turban). It doesn't come off.
    • The reason you don't see anything wrong with it is because like a fish in water, you grew up in Western culture and imbibed it fully. It's very difficult to for parents to inculcate traditional culture while in the West. The reason there is a problem is because a kiss between a man and wife is a sexual act (I didn't say it's coitus, but it's still sexual.) By contrast a kiss between a mother and a child, for example, is not sexual. And in our culture, sexual acts are not allowed in public. Goras do allow it. And that's also the reason they have gay pride parades now with people walking around naked with children in attendance and so forth.
