I find it hard to see the sincerity in what she's saying, seems more like a game to play support for the badals. The same badals who have destroyed Punjab and betrayed the Khalsa panth and contributed to something related to the 1984.

Why do they hit the desk? Is that a form of protesting without speaking or clapping??

I agree with you Singh559. However, what people should say is that, if the Badals can make a speech like that to get justice for the murder of at least 7000 Sikhs and not get any justice, still, then maybe they are the wrong people for the job!!!

However, if, this young lady keeps on fighting for this justice and making that statement/speech at every opportunity, on all channels she can, then she is genuine!

If it's a one off speech, then her pain and symphathy for the Sikhs was also a 'one off' !!

Can't somebody send that link to Amnesty International?

I think Punjab Elections are coming next year and Badal's want to re-gain the Sikh vote bank. So, repoliticise the issue again ... For Badal's; killing of 20K Sikhs in November 1984 is an excellent trump card ...

Why she mentions it as RIOTS ... She should mention the Event as "Genocide", SikhsForjustice should keep this Video as Record ....

Sikhs are not going to get any Justice from Hindutva Government, BJP-Akali alliance was in power for 5 years, if they had the honesty; they could have influenced CBI and courts to deliver Justice, that's what happens in India - Political Parties have influence over CBI and Courts; but when they were also in power - they had some other agenda's to settle down - So, starting the drama again is just a political stunt - Although, good to start the drama and keep it doing :).

This is latest....march 17.

More than a dozen activists, including girls, of the Unemployed PTI Teachers’ Union, were roughed up here today by SAD activists when they tried to disrupt a foundation stone-laying ceremony that was presided over by the Bathinda MP, Harsimrat Kaur Badal, at Gurdwara Haji Rattan.

Besides the policemen, a number of senior leaders of the SAD, including a member of the political affairs committee, thrashed them in the presence of Harsimrat Kaur and the SGPC chief, Avtar Singh Makkar. The situation turned explosive as a result of which the security staff advised Harsimrat Kaur to leave the spot immediately. Harsimrat Kaur was here to lay the foundation stone of two schools run by the SGPC, Dashmesh Khalsa School and Dashmesh School for Differently Able children, in the gurdwara complex. As soon as she laid the first stone, a number of activists of the Unemployed PTI Teachers’ Union started raising slogans to press for the acceptance of their demands. Harsimrat Kaur advised them to take up the issue with the state government. Irked over her reply, the agitators became more aggressive in their protest.

The SAD leaders did not even spare the agitating girls and dragged them away by their dupattas in the presence of Harsimrat Kaur, the patron of the ‘Nanhi Chhaan’ campaign.

The 1984 issue is a stick that they use to beat Congress with at election time. Don't forget that Congress is Badal group's biggest opponent in the Punjab elections. Even BJP has raised this issue when it suited them.

Of course the issue should be raised but we need to understand people's motives for raising it.
