redrafting the akal takhat maryada

The basics of all different rehit maryada are the same... Some tend to put more emphasis on one thing, some on others. What's wrong? Nothing, as long as we don't go out and point fingers at other rehatvaan Singhs or Kaurs because their maryada is different from ours. The only thing wrong about the marayada is NOT following it. All Panthik rehit maryada's stress strictly on not cutting kesh, doing simran and path and not using drugs. So perhaps if someone wants to bring everyone under the fold of Sri Akaal Takhat Sahib, he/she needs to start adopting the basics of the rehit maryada first.

but when we start falling under Brahmanism (ie. cutting hair, following rituals, not following Sikhi), Guru Jee will not not not help us out. It is ESSENTIAL to become Sikhs FIRST, and THEN, when we have the HAK or RIGHT to make Panthic goals, we can try to gather with the Sangat and make realistic goals that we'll actually follow through with..

The so called Rehat Maryada was issued in draft form by the SGPC, it has been in this state for many decades.

Is it so wrong to think it is time for a final version to be issued.

Call a Sarbat Khalsa, select someone fit to hold the post of Akal Takht Jathedar and frame rules covering this process for the future and then actually work on getting a final version of the Rehat Maryada published.

You cant. The SGPC claims the right to settle such matters even though it is just a glorified management committee.
