I watched the video. Now it seems there is another side of the story. There were two articles (one as editorial) in the Punjabi vernacular newspaper the ”Daily Pehredar” about the politics behind the yatra by a group of Punjabi Brahamins and it casts some doubts whether it was really a “Rinn Uttaroo” yatra. So let us also look at it first without taking sides. In the following article I have highlighted some portions that contradict the story told in the video

Sarnas hijack Brahmin yatra: Akalis cry foul, cut sorry figure

CHANDIGARH: It was a well planned out yatra sponsored by the ruling Akali Dal in Punjab to garner support among the Hindus, particularly the Brahmins, but was meticulously taken over by the Sarna brothers in New Delhi. The last minutes efforts by the Akalis to accuse the Sarnas, their bitter rivals, of humiliating the yatris, also did not bear any fruit as these were denied by the participants in the yatra themselves.

On Saturday the Akali Dal issued a pressnote condemning the “attack on the Rin Utaar Yatan Yatra”, which never took place. The statement accused the Sarna brothers including the Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Managing Committee president Paramjit Singh Sarna of denying the yatris (pilgrims) the entry in to the Sarai of the Gurdwara. After the initial reports of some confusion which were apparently exaggerated by a Punjab television channel owned by the ruling family, it later turned out to be a planned move to defame the DSGMC.

One of the participants in the yatra Vinod Kumar did not rule out the role of Devi Dayal Prashar who was leading the yatra in the whole confusion with an intent to put the blame on Sarna. Prashar’s affinity with the ruling Akalis is too well known. Kumar disclosed that once the Yatra reached Delhi, no doubt there was a panic amongst the authorities as they had not expected such a multitude to converge at Rakabganj.

DSGMC members made it sure that langar was served to all and the big langar hall was vacated for the Brahmin jatha to rest during night. He revealed that it was Prashar who around the midnight started shouting at the Brahmins to leave the place. He expressed surprise as how a TV crew of a particular news channel reached at the spot at that hour of the night, indicating that everything had been preplanned to defame DSGMC.

Interestingly, Kumar said, while on the one hand the Minister of State for External Affairs Ms Preneet Kaur and Yuvraj Raninder Singh were welcoming the Brahmins and honouring them with siropas (robes of honour), on the other hand a Punjabi TV channel was flashing the news of alleged misbehaviour by the DSGMC with the Brahmins from Punjab.

Senior leader of Sarv Kalyan Brahmin Sammati, advocate Surinderpal Sharma while addressing the function at Rakabganj thanked DSGMC for the good arrangements made there. It all happened on Friday night when the yatris reached Delhi’s historical Gurdwara Rakabganj to pay obeisance to Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji, as a gratitude for his great sacrifice for the community.

The Yatra was virtually hijacked by the Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Managing Committee led by Paramjit Singh Sarna with the Minister of State for External Affairs Ms Perneet Kaur accompanied by her son Raninder Singh waiting there to honour the yatris.

Sarna may be that what you say ; about the pro Congress bias of Punjabnewsline , I was not aware of.

However, a similar story was published yesterday in the Punjabi language newspaper “Pehredar” which, as far as I know, is not pro congress

Forgive me, but this is nothing but propaganda and politics played by Badal and his masters the BJP.

For the record, the slogan is Tegh Bahadur Shrist Di Chader. Shrist means entire world. These Hindu groups and Pro Hindu Sikhs have changed it from Shrist to Hind.

When these so called Hindu groups honestly and truely side with the Sikhs and demand

1. that the Indian Military hand back the artifacts they looted from Darbar Sahib Library

2. that Gurdwara Gyan Godri be built in its original place

3. chandigarh be given back to punjab, infact haryana and himachal too

4. punjabs waters are not tampered with

5. the sikhs are recognised as a separate dharam within the constitution

6. a full apology given to the sikhs by all hindu organisation for the constant attacks and interference

7. Justice be given to the victims of 1984 and their homes, land, etc be restored back to them.

these "brahmins" don't care, they are stooges of Badal and BJP sent to stir things up. This is nothing but politics.

Sarna maybe a "gangster", however Badal is no better.
