Veerji we cannot generalize all virks and say they are chors or decoits. That's like people saying all Garewals are greedy or "banias of the Jats" because I've known plenty of Grewals who are large hearted Sardars too. There are good and bad in all biradarees. Nawab Kapur Singh Jee was also a Virk and gave his leadership at a time when Sikhs were almost wiped out of existence.

You seem to have a major issue with Jhabbar. Are you perhaps related to the congressi Jhabal family?

As for the Virks, It was because of Virks among others that Gurjranwala was the centre of the Sikh empire. You might want to look up Bhag Singh Virk.

So you cannot tolerate the breaking of the maryana inside Harmandir Sahib. So how do you feel about the fact that the party that the Jhabal helped infiltrate into the rural Punjab also attacked the Harmandir Sahib in 1984? If you are a relative of the jhabals then only God know what a fool you must be trying to make them look Panthic by attacking Kartar Singh Jhabbar.

I am not a relative of Jhabal.I go by norms of calling a spade a spade. Your propaganda that Nihungs were not in control of akal takhat is the real issue. You trash them as anti panthic. That is what dragged me to this debate and if you read the thread your pronouncements were debunked by me effectively.

Who are you to call Guru Kian ladlian faujan as anti panthic. And lastly when sikh issues come i do not care for family or clan loyalty.

It is a fact that it was Jhbabar who took women to attack Nihungs at akal takhat. I am at Amritsar. I will try to locate facts from bhora sahib as they have archive section.

I am not at all convinced by tony assertion that Nihungs were not controlling akal takhat and then he calls them anti panthic. You need to go through his posts there. That is what brought me to this discussion.

Then he does not care if jhabar broke maryada inside Harmandir sahib. That shows his scant regard for sikh traditions. No man is indispensable and every sikh should abide by traditions.

And also see video of Baba Gurbachan singh ji posted by N30singh. Johny you have respect for taksal wheras other person does not care. And baba Gurbachan singh never lies.

I like some good reforms brought by singh sabha but when i read letter of prof Gurmukh singh to British pledging loyalty to them over right of sikhs/Maharaja Dalip singh restored to Punjab head i was completely shaken. This was to kill sikh nationalism.

The thread is there for all to read. I asked for proof that-;

1. There was a Nihang Jathedar in charge of the Akal Takht in 1920. You claimed to have access to Akal Takht archives. So go on, show us the proof.

The contemporary account is that the Pujaris disappeared from the Akal Takht and then when the Akalis took over, they convinced the Nihangs from the chaoni to come over and attack the Akalis.

2. That the Akalis used women to attack the Nihangs knowing that the Nihangs would not use force against women.

Contemporary account has it that a single Bibi beat up the Nihang Jathedar and had to be restrained by the male Akalis

3. The Dasam Granth was thrown out of the window of the Akal Takht.

No such thing listed in contemporary accounts.

Where do you live? That has shortened your lookout. There is no denying the fact that Nihungs were controlling akal takhat.

Are you belittling sikh history? You have been provided enough proofs in that thread citing western travellers writings.

You should be ashamed of sticking to main na manu. And be sure i will give you further proof if you contradict sikh history.

The Pujaris were at harmandir sahib.Have you read John Malcolm book. He very effectively describes role of akalis ( Nihungs) and pujaris.

You know your stand on Dasam granth very well and it is available on sikhawareness. But you do not have liberty to attack Dasam Granth here.

We will come to that how singh sabha phobia created doubts about dasam bani that sodhak committee had to be formed. Let us leave it for the time being and concentrate on Nihungs at akal takhat.Whether they were there in 1920 or not.Sikh history say they were there but tonyhp maintains they were not.

Nihangs have been used by anti-Panthic forces against the Panth in the past and no doubt they will be used as such in future. They had an anti-panthic role in 1920 and their leader was Indira Gandhi's chumcha in 1984.

Nihungs have many Dals. I am not Nihung but i hav edeep respect for them. Your casting them in same mould is your lack of knowledge about them and Punjab.Your knowledge is from internet only and let me tell you so called niddar is no Nihung.

Beofre you give example of Baba santa singh whom i despise for his role in 1984, let me tell you many nihung dals marched to harmandir sahib from countryside in 1984 for Darbar sahib defence. Baba bidhi chand dal from jhabal led by daya singh was strafed by army helicopter and some died. Nihungs of marianwala group near Batala too were killed by army when they came to Darbar sahib defense.

Baba Harianvelan wale was imprisoned an tortutured for being close to Bhindrewale. Whom are you kidding here by anti Nihung stance? Read some sikh history before condemning nihung singhs lock, stock and barrel.Only an anti panthic person can do that.

When congress stooge Sarna took Ragi darshan to akal takhat with two bus loads of Goondas it were Nihung dals for taking on these rogues. And do not forget sikhs of khalsa were all nihungs to begin with likes of Baba deep singh and tat khalsa.

YOU HAVE NOT PROVIDED ANY PROOF FROM 1920!

Are you so thick that you don't understand that a reference from 1846 does not mean the same thing was the case in 1920. Come on, if you can locate a reference from 1846, a time when there were a lot less books being written, surely you can get a reference from 1920 when there were dozens of newspapers and magazines being published.

    • Look, the same points you made about Gujarati Kenyans, I can say the same thing about Sikh/Punjabi Kenyans. They were more educated on average than immigrants direct from India.  I worked with a Gujarati from India and he told me that Gujaratis are not known for being educated.  Compare Gujaratis from Kenya to Punjabis from Kenya and also Gujaratis from India to Punjabis from India.
    • Stop marrying these Punjabans and shipping them over to the West. There's no excuse for it in this day and age. You're not getting an obedient, dutiful, demure female from over there. They don't respect Western born guys unless they're complete gundeh, in which case they bring a who!e new set of problems to the table. The common religion between the two parties is a misleading trait. It's irrelevant. Cultural values and upbringing is where it's at. Baba and dera culture has spiralled out of control in Punjab. It's a miracle to find a family that isn't into this stuff. Your brother needs to make her see sense. He needs to lead and be worth following. He needs to stop hiding behind mummy and daddy, and grow a pair so that the wife's previous beliefs, whatever they are, she willingly discards in favour of her husband's values. A woman automatically does this when she perceives her man is worth deferring to. If she's playing up, she's detected a weakness, and she's exploiting it. So the problem of her running around after pandits is irrelevant. The issue is that your brother has been unable to put an end to this bukwaas for the sake of stabilising his married life and home. That's his fault.

And that was in India in a BJP ruled state. Interesting all 5 of the high caste Muslim rapist-killers had the first name of Mohammed.  So why is anyone surprised when Muslim men exploit non-Muslim women in the UK and  all over the world?
