S4ngh wake up and smell the coffee. ive kicked off a few doors and brought 'sisters' back home... i may be a bit harsh in saying 'sikh girls' however enough is enough id educate my sister or daughter to keep away and not even continplate thinking of a relationship before marriage unless we knew the boy or family. And for the record i divorced a sikh slapper who was a cheap tart. Unless youve been in my shoes you wont get my opinion. I humbly ask that you stop making comments on my commemts. No ones bad or good...however the idiots going out of there way to find a sikh girl whos got her head in the clouds and is an avid follower and nikki minage wannabe will make the headlines.

Educate your 'our' sisters not to see it cool to hang or sleep with these kind of people. Then maybe cupid wont do his thing and they WILL marry a sikh and NOT lufangaa muslim...

There's a kernel of truth in bigcat's arguments, although I wouldn't use his terminlogy to describe Sikh females! And he is absolutely right in identifying the fact that the quiet, God-fearing, hard-working 9-5 Sikh is often overlooked for the loud-mouthed, egotistical, middle-class braggart who coasts through life as if it's all one big joke. I may be painting a picture in broad strokes; there's exceptions, but generally you'll find the above is true. Strangely, modern Sikh girls and women seem to think they're entitled to be with someone well-off regardless of any of his other attributes, as if it's their God-given right to live in the lap of relative luxury and comfort.

Some of us need to wise up to the ruthlessness amongst our own people. Strike a balance between the saintly aspects of Sikhi, but don't be blind to the dynamics of modern society, the attempted distortion of gender roles by those at the top, changing social constructs, etc. As much as it saddens me to say, sometimes being a good person is not a guarantee of good things happening to you. "If i pray hard enough then I'll never experience any upheavals or hurt." We know that's not how things work.

Someone who works from 9am to 5pm (generally speaking; can obviously refer to people on shifts, etc), be it blue collar, manual work, or in an office. A simple, no-frills individual who gets on with life without nakhra or airs and graces.

As we get deeper into Kaliyug, the effects of Kaam and immorality will increase. In today`s society being promiscuous is glorified as `love`. Ah, okay thanks:) Most of those people who I know are only Sikh because they were born Sikh, and they aren't religious.

Best not to condemn or judge people for all of eternity, because we don't know when they might change. Like I said previously, I stopped assuming people's intentions and their motives based on their appearance and their words. Some people look the part but fall short, whilst others don't appear to be as we think, but inside them is such beauty. It's difficult to recalibrate our thinking to approach life in this way (I mess up often) but I feel it's the right thing to do. If you're a Sikh you must believe God's light resides in us all, no matter how much we may want to think otherwise.

I am happily married to girl from Europe. No need to restrict yourself to girls from a Punjabi background. There are plenty of good women in Eastern Europe and South America seeking a good man. And many will be more open minded about Sikhi than our Punjabis with preconceived notions.

Yeah, fair play. Some of the people in our lives are infuriating though, lol. They seem incapable of change. But there's always hope I suppose.

lets not get wrapped up in how to stop this ,. we cant stop this from happening. people make choices and they have to live with them. these women just learn the hard way.

who cares about them. this life is brutal. there is no place for weak.

Mhmmm! Hopefully they change one day. I have some relatives who were 'mona', and they ate meat/cut hair etc. Whenever one of them would get diagnosed with a life threatening disease, they'd take Sri Amrit, and then they'd stop keeping rehat when they get better lol. I have this certain relative who has had this happen 2 times now, once about 10 years ago she did this, and it happened again and she did the same thing, but I don't know if she will get rid of rehat, since whenever we visit her she has the 5ks etc. I'm sure a lot of people have done this in the past. ):

People actually do that?! That's madness. If you've taken Amrit at a time of personal turmoil, then at least have the good grace to see it through when you're blessed with good health, and thank Maharaj for being gracious enough to help you out. Mental.
