Thats the type of movie I'm referring to bro. Subpar acting at best, corny dialogue, horrible editing, people spend more time laughing at the movie than paying attention. Those movies only impress the older viewers who have no clue what a well made movie really is lol.

These movies are not for the western Sikh audience although now that these movies are being banned in India the producers will have to consider catering more for the western Sikh audience as this is where they will likely recoup their investment.

Whatever your thoughts on the artistic merit of these films, one thing that cannot be argued against is that they have led to Sikhs gaining more knowledge about the events that happened in the 80s and 90s. This can only be a good thing especially as the whole Indian education system and media is gearing towards either ignoring these events or painting these events to suit their own ends.

Don't think thats true, plus even if it was, they don't deserve it lol.

Not sure about US/Australia, but thats not true for Canada, its split evenly between Punjab born vs Canada born. Regardless, its almost like you're trying to say only films of inferior quality will hit home with Punjabis? Thats not true at all.

Being to Canada many times my observation is a lot of folk (not all) there are more Punjabi than Punjabi people in Punjab. Like how the U.S. Boston Irish are more Irish in Ireland.

This is my anecdotal generalisation. It may not be true for all cases.

I think we're having some misunderstandings lol, but you are right on that somewhat, people here are quite in touch with their roots. I'm just saying producers shouldn't just spit out loaw quality movie after movie. If they need more money, they should ask sangat, or if they purposely don't put in effort then the movies should be boycotted.
