OP wants to open an eatery and is also looking for a girl  to marry. My suggestion is a 'combo', economical, practical, win-win solution.

problem with such businesses is the need for skilled staff which means relying on others(wage bill from get go)  and the spoilage issues with perishable stock . You could try property flipping , if you are savvy you can make good returns on your projects and get out when the circumstances are as favourable

It's still much more practical than what @singhbj singh recommend about marrying a white man/white girl and expect them to cook for you, (why our people have an obsession with them is beyond me, many of our people already have Greek blood in them, is that not enough white for them?)

he was saying to do that to get money out of the in-laws to finance the start-up ...totally shameless  then went on to say marry someone who's qualified in catering to be your free chef . what can one say about the totally selfish user and abuser attitude he is trying to encourage ? SMH

He was being blatantly honest about some people's mentality in this era. Sometimes we just want to sit on things and hide the fact that so and so married for the sake of having a free cook and cleaner in the house. People who treat their daughter in laws like servants - and do not think of them as humans. You have to come across these lot to actually believe it. 

The main reason behind some marriages is finance. How long do they last though? A fool marrying another fool for the fools money which they spend foolishly, then perhaps they realise they just a fool to befriend and then they wisen up, earn their own money and start a successful business.

Agree with Jkvlondon penji and Sikhni penji. A guy doesn't need to marry a girl for finance. He should work for it himself and the couple needs to work together on it, as in countries as U.K., Canada, America, both couples work and contribute to the house together.

others having that attitude which is anti-sikh in the utmost sense is one thing but then taking that attitude and acting as if there's nothing wrong in it and proposing it to another Gursikh as a valid option for financing oneself for a business start-up is repugnant . No gursikh should act like this as this is against Guru ji's  updesh . Just because you marry someone it doesn't give you rights to their parent's wallet or property .

True, nowadays there's more options available for both genders to work. The parents shouldn't have to contribute to those that have a good education and jobs, unless they are going through a very bad time and there's no other route, and when family should support in those times with respect and compromise. 

Getting married shouldn't be about focusing on the materialistic but rather the qualities.

Historically marriages were seen as political unions.

Maharaj Ranjit Singh would not got where he was without his mother-in-law.(Though he was anything but a Gursikh).

A lot of people got married into money to raise their status.

Gordon Ramsey the chef would not have got where he was without his father-in-law.

Triple H of the WWE is married into the McMahon Family. His father in law Vince McMahon is a billionaire which owns the WWE . 

How many daughter-in-laws fight with their sister-in-laws for their mother-in-law 's jewellry when they pass away? 

Ideally these things should not happen but in the real world they do.
