Can we as U.K. Sikhs learn some things from the  Irish Traveller community?

I dont mean the crime and bad behaviour some of them are associated with or the law levels of literacy

But they are close knit community and rarely marry outside. They stick together. They teach their kids to be tough from a young age, which I think we should too

Our desire to assimilate and integrate into wider society mostly overrides any in-group concerns. The boat you're hoping for set sail a very long time ago. You can't dial things back in these situations unless there's almost a social reset after a major societal upheaval like war, etc. The best you can do is to enact these changes in your family unit, and hope others in your circle follow your example.

I have had thoughts like these. What if an ardent devout sikh family choose to multiply like rabbit and teach each kid in the most fundamentalist way of Sikhi , albeit non-violent but assertive. And this family over a period of generations grow within the panth and overwhelm it . The biggest challenge is to keep the spark up and running in the successive generations and preventing differing view of opinions . So its most likely tough to follow.

The Westboro baptist church tried and now they're a laughing stock in america.

Well Punjabis are considered to be very similar to irish.

We both like drinking

Dancing and singing.

Punjabis are already the gypsies of India.

only in so far that both group have been systematically done over by England and reduced our cultures to harmless caricatures of the actual warrior races we once were

the problem with our people is we don't know how to twist the elbows of these <banned word filter activated> goreys . Honestly if sikh history is ever truly written , britishers have to be the most villanious entitites therein or atleast the mughals and brits would be for a tough competition on that title

Even with our prevailing langar system , we get seen as passive people who will bend over backwards to accomodate anyone and everyone , sometimes at the cost of our own interests. The singh who organized iftar in pakistan was shot dead by taliban .

You give them free food in generosity , they give you bullets.
