I've never seen any Sikhs kiss in public? Have you actually ever seen it? Or is it a hypothetical question?

I have seen monas kiss in public, actually in university computer rooms. I also saw a soon-to-be trim Singh kissing his hindu girlfriend in front of me, maybe also in a university computer room. I remember seeing him again years later with beard trimmed, I think she managed to convince him to trim it!

Thanks   all the answers make sense. A sikh should have morals and restrain, kissing in public doesn't fit in with that. A sikh should have shame/sharam. The characters in charitropakhyan are overly lustful, without shame and are described in negative light, so we should be the opposite.

True... doubt solved!

Hello, I'm also a sikh recently married man, been married for 4 months now and I've always been attracted to my wife, she's very beautiful. Coming to my question, so is kissing my wife allowed in Sikhi? Please note we are not doing this in public but only when we're alone in our home and bedroom?

Well when i used to drop my wife at work , would hug her and kiss her on the forehead, lips or cheek.

I do not see any problem with this what so ever, its not inappropriate like tongue twisting for 5 mins in public.

The reason you don't see anything wrong with it is because like a fish in water, you grew up in Western culture and imbibed it fully. It's very difficult to for parents to inculcate traditional culture while in the West.

The reason there is a problem is because a kiss between a man and wife is a sexual act (I didn't say it's coitus, but it's still sexual.) By contrast a kiss between a mother and a child, for example, is not sexual. And in our culture, sexual acts are not allowed in public.

Goras do allow it. And that's also the reason they have gay pride parades now with people walking around naked with children in attendance and so forth.
