I am always perplexed at this topic

five banis alone easily take one hour and that is if you do fast enough . one hour alone doesnt allow reflection on baanis being read

and on top of that, naam japp /simran daily would take additional half hour

so amritdhari sikh is expected to reserve his 1 and half hour daily morning for this spiritual practice ?

Yes.

But sometimes you can do nitnem in half an hour.

We all thought you are an Amritdarri Sikh from Mumbai! That’s what you’ve been telling everyone. Are you one or not?  The amount of deception coming from you is incredible.......next you will be telling us that you are a wench and a Brummie and aggin like a little munchkin or bab, lol ? for being picked on!!’ Are you a winch or a bab with a face as long as Livery Street? Not sure if yourself, are you or are you not an amritdarrii? I really want to say something about 0121, but I will leave it for next time.

naam simran and additional gurbani jaap apart from core mandatory nitnem should account as a daswandh of our breathes/time in a day (approx 2 and half hours, this is instructed at amrit sanchars at Thakt Sri Hazur Sahib)

Half hour :/?,  it takes me 25 minutes to read Japji Sahib Ji

When I don't have time in the mornings, especially in those school mornings, I give myself 30 minutes to sit down and do it. The remaining bani I do while tying my dastaar or brushing my kesh. Sorry, should have clarified.

Nitnem is Jap, Jaap, Swayye, Chaupai, Anand.

Asa di Vaar, Shabad Hazare, etc. are extra that every Sikh is encouraged to do, but it is optional.

I'm just thinking out aloud here, if Guru Ji didn't put any of his bani into Guru Granth Sahib Ji, would he also not include them in the morning banis?

Ok so Guru Ji would of added to the existing morning banis, not remove any

Unless Punj Pyare specifically mention an alternative bhagti/nitnem i.e. if you're illiterate, the Nitnem bani is the same. But usually they don't mention stuff like Asa Di Vaar and Sukhmani Sahib still, they'd recommend Gurmantar and Mool Mantar Jap.
