I have some relative that have come over to UK on sponsership from India. They are looking for empolyment but dont also have much qualifications. They are female btw. Not sure what is the best way for them to get a good job. Apart from obvious retail which does not pay much. other ideas I thought about is factory job. ie probably in southall where they can speak punjab to other people as they dont have good english which is something they prefer as dont feel comfortable working in a place that they will be the only asian/indian.

Any ideas to get a well paid job for them?. I doubt they can secure this without qualifications. ie a levels, degree ect though.  Not sure how to guide them career wise. My aim is to get them ready and be more employable.

Get her signed up with an agency. They connect newly arrived immigrant workers to factories on sprawling industrial estates in various industries but mostly those that deal with packing food, etc. The first few months are usually on a trial basis, but if she keeps her head down and applies herself, they do offer full-time contracts. It's good money for basic work.

Here in the US, lots of girls will do a beauty course in india then work at a threading or hair saloon or make up place.

Also CNA, thats like a 6 month course for very basic nursing like changing sheets etc

Or even housemaid, babysitter, medical assistant, receptionist. Day care assistant

Will look into that. Sound like something that would be suitable.

Will look into that. I was actually thinking along those lines. It's not the best but will give her experience and hopefully she can move up and get through the employment door.

Imo it's the best way to get them into a routine and earning money. She'll start paying tax, which means her employment record begins in the UK. If she feels like moving on in a couple of years, then the next job won't be so difficult to find.
