I don't how this is happening. They're not letting Sikhs carry Kirpans in our own places.

Amritsar, May 31

Ahead of the Operation Bluestar anniversary that falls on June 6, the police have tightened security in and around the Golden Temple, stopping devotees from entering the shrine complex.

This comes in the wake of clashes between SGPC workers and pro-Khalistan activists in the Golden Temple in recent years. A police officer said, “We apprehend that some Sikh activists might gather inside the shrine in advance. Moreover, we want to ensure social distancing in view of the Covid pandemic.” Section 144 has been imposed, and carrying any weapon, including the “kirpan”, has been banned.

Akal Takht officiating Jathedar Giani Harpreet Singh is yet to take a call on the programme. His “parallel” counterpart Bhai Dhyan Singh Mand, however, has said he would offer at Akal Takht and deliver a “public address”. — TNS

This has gone too far, I mean, subjugating the Sikh panth by weakening them first!

SGPC was supposedly created to manage sikh religious affairs especially taking care of gurdwara sahibs and giving out sikhi parchar. However what it has become is controlled opposite to the desires and wishes of the Sikh kaum and protocols.

The sri akal takht is the religious spiritual Sikh parliament where Sikhs come together during a convention where the community's panthic committee then collectively elects an akal takht jathedar to be the spokesman and leader of the panth. And now since the 90s  sgpc has been electing its own unknown akal takht jathedhar's against Sikhi protocols and wishes of the community. It's obviously been under the control of the indian state because every-time Sikhs elect their own religious leader there's conflict as delhi is unwilling to concede to the political aspirations of the Sikhs since 1947.

So until SGPC isnt disbanded, reformed or something else created in its place as rival and competition to be the authentic voice of the community then this situation will not change.

Honestly if this stops the disgraceful scenes that we saw in 2014 and a few years later when videos of Sikhs fighting each other with kirpans and knocking of dastars are avoided then taking away their kirpans is probably a good thing. What a massive publicity coup the id.iots of Mann Dal and Dal Khalsa and the other paper tigers provided for the Indian govt. This was a occasion when Sikhs should have been solemnly commemorating the murder by the India states of Sikh men, women and children but all the world saw was some hotheads fighting among themselves. Honestly, what would any sensible non-Sikh around the world have thought, would they not think that these Sikhs are just troublemakers and maybe the GOI was right that they had to go in in 1984 to take out terrorists? in the battle for world opinion, those scenes were a massive own goal.

I know that lots of people deride the protests and the candle lit vigils of the west but if you look at twitter recently and how lots of non-Sikhs, even Hindus have been showing support of Sikhs of what we suffered in 1984, this is what gives the GOI sleepless nights, not some hotheads fighting among themselves every year in June.

Its paap like these that india still has the misfortune of 2 nasty neighbors china and pak , and also now nepal .

and a corrupt political system which hinders its growth while china due to its one party system grows leap and bounds and now china threatens india's takht by intrusion at LAC.

    • Manmat creeps in when people go after the latest fad. Since the last 20 years look at all these anand karaj occurring on the beaches of Mexico with semi naked white women walking around in the Hazuri of Guru Sahib on the beach. Our own have no sharam left when they do this.  Homosexuality is the latest fad. We are already seeing  our own SJWs making noise about allowing this in a Gurdwara twisting the meaning of Hukm by saying this is all Hukm of Maharaj. Soon the new generation of Sikh kids who have been indoctrinated in schools about this mental disorder through sex ed will do the unspeakable by allowing this manmat to occur.
    • 😄  i think in gay couples one is like the wife the feminine one, while the other is the husband   so they probably carry the roles out according to that    🤣
    • The more butch one 😁😁
    • How will they decide who gets to go first during the parkarma? Who holds the parna, in the case of AK, when both the participants are the same sex? Nevermind, I don't want to think about it.
    • The Paki kids would openly insult the Hindu kids, but i'm not sure why but they bit their tongue a lot more when it came to the Sikh kids! even though Sikh kids were like a tiny minority in my school. the poor hindu kids got a lot from the pakis though.  Yeah i remember during one cricket match the Paki boys marched through the playground shouting slogans like "India is a b@stard" throwing their hands in the air. You know how they do elections in Pakistan it was like that.  Cricket matches were crazy, remember the world cup where India won against srilanka? where it was India vs Pakistan in the semi finals, think it was 2011, during the semi final that was like a huge event in out school! many of the teachers even cancelled the lessons and put the match on their laptops! India won anyway lol!  i didn't know much about Sikhi back then and i came wearing a orange Nike t-shirt with a backpack with a massive khanda on it 😄    should of seen the faces of the Pakis when they saw that.  On that very day, I also i remember very well a huge big fat Punjabi girl pinning me against the wall and scratching the hell out me because i called her FAT   😄      i was going out with her cousin lol!      that girl was enormous!  my neck had scratch marks and blood!   never call a fat girl fat!  once you're in her clutches, wedged between the wall and her belly  its quite a task freeing your skinny self from it!!
