Kingdom of heaven is a gd movie   its about the crusades   this longer version is much better than the shorter one

much of the crusades were actually about wealth, had little to do with religion and reclaiming the holy land,   it was about plundering wealth and thats what they did.

agreed , it was a recurring theme of whitey's spread through the world .  Collaterall was a good movie but I cannot stand tom cruise , it's complex really as one of my fave hollywood movies is the last samauri because of the japanese actor's portrayal of the chief of his village and samauri right hand of the emperor, the scene where his son's jooda gets cut off kills my heart everytime .

Another biopic miniseries which was interesting despite the actor (sacha Baron cohen) as 'the Spy ' shows how the 'jews' exploited the arab jews to get their boots on the ground inside Syria , he visits back home and you see how he is discriminated against by 'his own' in Israel

thats a great movie, you really feel for the samurai and how they want to keep their tradition, that scene of the guy getting his jooda cut off against his will is really sad.

i wanna watch that  looks really cool   its on netflix

It's REALLY long, you might have to break it up over 2 days - I did.

Same with Godfather 2, we just watched the first DVD (of 2) the other night, want to finish it off today.

yep it  was good but a little slower paced story

I think Scorsese was making up for accusations that he glorified Cosa Nostra violence in his previous movies with this one, plus (according to a recent interview I saw of his) he wanted to explore the effects of time or age on people living that lifestyle. I thought it was really good, especially the silent role of the daughter who quietly witnesses it all in disgust.  I don't know if Frank Sheeran was the one who actually killed Hoffa though.....a few people claim that or say differently.

People like Frank are psychopaths/sociopaths, they could well lie and obfuscate right till the end - and love doing it.

I'd love to read a book or see a movie from Peggy's perspective.

first film I ever watched of his was  a pirate videotape of scarface in our chemistry lab when the staff were not on duty, yep he did glorify the gangster life.
