society Good Karams and Bad Karams

Sat Sri Akal Sangat ji..

I have been sharing my thoughts and getting helpful feedback regarding the good karams. We should be polite and focus on our karams and always do good deeds plus Naam Simran to achieve liberation.. The topic reincarnation covered it all but today I was reading about these gang rapes.. It is so painful to read and imagine what those victims are going through. 

Most of the rapists are under the influence of an alcohol or drugs but still I wonder what karams those girls have done to go through this. It is really Waheguru's will? Those poor girls are dying in pain.. Of course they want to punish those criminals but most of them die..

Is it all about their karams? They have done something in their picchla janam? That is why they have been through this? I am always thinking what will happen next.. is it the beginning and they will come back to punish them in next life or it is coming from previous life.. how will this end?

I just hope one day Government will ban these drugs and alcohol completely and educate these illiterate men to protect women,not to hurt them..

Drugs/alcohol or anything else for that matter can never be used as an excuse to rape. Period. 

In terms of karam, I have a little anecdote:

I once went to see my Vidiya Guru (Santhiya Ustaad) at his residence, as he was very unwell (he was around 90 years old at the time). For majority of his life all he did was teach Santhiya. He was lying in bed, but face smiling and Chardi Kalaa. I said to him "Baba Ji, aa ki hoyaa?". He said "Koina, Karamaa di khed hai." Me, being young and foolish at the time asked, "Tussi eho jehaa ki karam keetaa?". To which he smilingly replied "Koi karam keetaa huo".

From this I saw practically that everything is indeed all about karam. But that doesn't mean we turn a blind eye to the pain of others. We should always show compassion and help where it's warranted.

And always ask for his grace, not the reward of karam

Karam is probably more complex.

Karam means action. I may have good karams but that does not only being a good person is somehow going to make me safe from bad karams. 

If I am a good person, it does not mean that you can rest easy, if anything you have to be more vigilant. Good does not mean nice.

If I do good deeds, it does not mean that I can leave my door unlocked in my house and not be bothered if I get burgled by someone doing bad karams.

I still have to protect my property by adding a security system or locking the doors. This is a good karam. 

There is a saying "no good deed goes unpunished ". I was talking with a buddhist acquaintance regarding this and he mentioned something in the buddhist line of thought that evil follows good.

In that if you do good, the universe naturally tries to find a balance by getting bad to cancel the good in order to find an equilibrium and vica-versa.

True..being good doesn't mean no one will harm you.. I guess taking more precautions is a part of our karams too.. 

The point about Universe tries to balance is really interesting.. It makes sense if we think that way.. 

Plus good and bad is all defined by us.. According to Gurbani, once we start seeing all as same..no good or bad in it..only then we can set ourselves free.. easy to say it but pretty hard to follow that..
