  5. Did you not catch the use of the word 'many'? That implies some people aren't thus inclined. Seriously, do I have to micro-explain simple things because you didn't read properly? That would get seriously tiring - fast. lol if you're talking about Confucius's quote, then I'm pretty sure he was suggesting that a corrupt state routinely involves the promotion of corrupt people who have no care for those who are struggling in the state system.
  6. Nothing wrong with having a strong and well-built physique. Not all of us have the physical build of money-lenders and merchants. You can't positively-discriminate certain physical characteristics out of a people who identify with a particular religion. If that's what a particular faction ACTUALLY desires, then come out and state it unequivocally, "We don't want this tribe in this religion."
  7. Presumably this quote was written at a time where taxes weren't collected. Today, we just need the wealthy to pay their fair share of taxes which should suffice to support those most in need. Note need, not greed.
  8. Why? He'd only have some sect-obsessed loyalist claim he wasn't a "real" Sikh because he didn't belong to one jatha or another, lol.
  9. All the rich are the same (according to the above quote).
  10. Hey. My advise? You must go pesh (retake Amrit)... When do you decide to go pesh? Hmm. This year? Next year? 5 years or 20 yrs from now!!!?? Will leave that up to u. Deep down u know yourself if you're genuinely re-ready or not. If u think "I will re-take but wha if I make same mistake?" Then leave it off until you genuinely feel ready. Being Amritdhari no longer means you can enjoy wonders of life; meat, alcohol, clubs, women. However, retaking means you're ready for Sikhi path once again!!! You made a mistake, yes. But retake Amrit ASAP, wait or give up? Up to you bro.
  11. Too many of us taking amrit way before we are ready.
  12. Brava, you took Amrit but you didn't give your head to the Guru for that Amrit, frankly whatever you do to "make amends" or even "pesh" is useless unless you actually are willing to give your everything to the Guru. If you have this gf of yours, do anand karaj, if that isn't possible then move on.
  13. please read 52 hukumnamas of Guru Gobind Singh, it says not to start grihast jeevan without anand karaj, so you cannot have partner without anand karaj, so you cannot have a girlfriend.
  14. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-hereford-worcester-61466964 A 12-year-old boy was driven almost 200 miles and housed with a sex offender by a social worker at an under-fire council, the BBC has learned. The child was taken from his home in Herefordshire to stay with a relative in Bradford whose partner had admitted touching a young girl in 1991. The boy, now an adult, said he had been told he would be there a week but ended up staying almost four months. Herefordshire Council apologised for its "serious failings".
  15. This quote is similar in spirit to the quote by Jiddu Krishnamurthi: "It is no measure of health to be well adjusted to a profoundly sick society." Both quotes are basically suggesting that any individual who thrives in an environment that is, by all metrics, morally and ethically moribund, has lost their humanity whereby the suffering and injustice around them doesn't stir their conscience. If the evil individuals in power are flocking to be your friends and hailing you as a notable personality, there's a high probability you share many of the same characteristics as these powerful
  16. This is what I'm talking about. Can you imagine this happening in Europe and the USA let alone India? Apne are just as bad as respecting whites over others and this is seen in pretty much every other ethnic group. The main reasons are- the vast majority of white nations don't have abject poverty and they have invented and discovered so many things. People therefore think that whites are rich and that also gets them respect. Do you think a Korean or Japanese will get respect by the average Indian in India? They'll probably get mistaken for a poor Nepali or North East In
  17. True bro in 2011 when 1.7% of Indians were enumerated as Sikhs that translated as 20million Sikhs back in 2011. The problem is that with a vastly below replacement fertility rate since 2011 there is no guarantee that Sikhs will be much more than 20million by 2050 or the 2051 census when the Indian population is projected to 1,650-1,700 million with Muslims on track to be 350million among that figure. The Sikh population in India needs to be 100million plus strong by the planned census of 2051 if we diaspora Sikhs do our best to financially support education, healthcare and parchaar t
  18. Scomo is just doing what every politician does. Remeber when there were state elections a few years ago, had a few politicians come to the gurdwara on a few Sunday afternoons while all the aunties and uncles could not understand a thing.

  21. Not really but been to some south east asian countries like Thailand,Singapore and stuff but I'm talking about like korea and japan and the people from there that i have met. They seem just as materialistic. They also see the world in hierarchies and think whites at top and then them at 2nd and all of us below them. I had many east asians in my uni including international students. They will respect white people way more than they will respect other people of color. Maybe it was the past that the societies had an influence of confucion thought like in Punjab sikhi uplifted many people but look
  22. Try ringing the Sikh Missionary Society in Southall, see if you have any luck. I think it comes in three volumes btw.
  23. really? i find that those countries are very self centred and look down on others.
  24. There is also the issue of many wealthy people exploiting vulnerable groups for their wealth.
  25. East Asian countries like China, Japan and Korea have benefitted a lot from Confucius. The people think of the wider society and what impact their actions will have on it. Contrast that with India where most people are purely out for themselves send their family.
