Waheguru Jee Ka Khalsa Waheguru Jee Kee Fateh. Does anyone know the purpose of walking in circles around Guru Granth Sahib Jee during a Sikh's marriage ceremony? What is the point of this when the God we're searching for is sitting inside of each and every single one of us? I hope everyone who reads this realizes the point I'm trying to make. Bhul Chuk Maaf Jee. Waheguru Jee Ka Khalsa Waheguru Jee Kee Fateh.

VJKK VJKF That Time Of Night I look outside my window, on this dark n mysterious night. Its raining and its pouring, and the street lights are shining bright. Theres no one around, theres no one in sight Its just me and the darkness, Standing in moonlight. I turn to my room, its looking lonely and cold. I need someone here with me Just someone here to hold. The tears begin to roll, As I approach my nights bed. “Why do I have to be alone? I’d rather just be dead!” But then the rain suddenly stops, And the wind turns into breeze. My legs suddenly collapse And I fall down to my knees. I cant get up, Whats happened to me?! I cant move an inch! Wh…

sangat ji Just a short story from a veer ji at the SMC Ludhiana Group Its good to know your own flaws, here's why: Flaws by : Author Unknown >A water bearer in India had two large pots, each hung on each >end of a pole which he carried across his neck. One of the pots >had a crack in it, and while the other pot was perfect and >always delivered a full portion of water at the end of the long >walk from the stream to the masters house, the cracked pot >arrived only half full. >For a full two years this went on daily, with the bearer >delivering only one and a half pots full of water in his >masters house. vjkk vjkf, Something thats been on my mind for a while. Why are some if not most shabads not sung in the raag they are written in? Is all or most of akhand style kirtan in tunes/kacheh raag? Why are some shabads sang in kacheh raag at darbar sahib? If the shabad is written the raag it was orginally wrote then by the Gurus, then by not singing it in that raag, do we not acheive the maximum benefit from it? Extract from akhand kirtani jatha- 19. Why do you do Kirtan in the way that you do? Kirtan during AKJ programs is traditionally done with very simple tunes, as opposed to being done with the complex Raags. The Sangat finds that Kirtan done in such a style i…

i saw this article today, its pretty well written and deserves a read... from http://thepanthicotpreka.blogspot.com/ Problems in the Panth: There is a Better Way Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa, Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh, Before starting I would like to state, that I believe that parchaariks should spend years studying and practicing the Sikhi lifestyle before they go out and educate the masses. Becoming a ‘Sikh Leader’ or Parchaarik is a great responsibility and requires the person to live a GurSikhi Jeevan, until we solve the issue of people becoming parchaariks or leaders overnight and pretending they know all, the panth will continue to have reoccurring problems. We need to sta…

I just heard this shabad on Alpha from Darbar Sahib. Bhai Rama Singh's autobiography tells about how saddened they felt at the treatment of the Ox - the farmer will treat it really bad. We fare a similar fate if we don't endeavour to live a Gursikh lifestyle. But the cow is revered right so what does a cow stand for in this shabad? This Shabad is by Bhagat Kabeer Ji in Raag Basant on Pannaa 1196 basa(n)th kabeer jeeou Basant, KabeerJee: ik oa(n)kaar sathigur prasaadh || One Universal Creator God. By The Grace Of The True Guru: sureh kee jaisee thaeree chaal || You walk like a cow. thaeree poo(n)shhatt oopar jhamak baal ||1|| The hair on your tail is shiny and…

Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh Raja ShivNabh’s kingdom was visited by Guru Nanak Dev jee, the Raja was an atheist. Guru Nanak jee went to those places where the greatest sinners and evil people were. ShivNabh’s ministers warned him not to meet Guru Nanak jee unless he wanted to be cursed. Four ministers were sent to meet Guru Nanak Dev jee and to stop him reaching the Kingdom. They offered a silver plate laden with diamonds at Guru jee’s feet. They said, “This offering shows our King’s respect for you.” Guru Nanak jee said, “Tell him how can he respect me with mere pennies?” The ministers were taken back, all other saints had accepted this offering and le…
