Hey everyone...I suffer from anxiety and worry alot which has caused alot of stress on my body...some days are good and some are absolutely terrible! I have heard of people doing sukhmani sahib 40 times in 40 days....my question is...if I do half of sukhmani sahib on one day and then rest on the next and keep it continuous is that ok to do? I currently do simran for 20 min everyday. Thank You

Taken from Sikhroots.com Vaheguru jee ka khalsa, vaheguru jee kee fateh. I was standing in Ardas with Sree Sahib in my hand to preform sevaa for Degh when someone behind me began doing Simran swaas-swaas. The breathing was really strained as if the person was in Bairaag. I couldn't look back then but when i began serving Degh I was able to indentify the mystery Naam-lover. It was the young boy, Indraj Singh" A dear brother told me thus about this young Singh. A child if you look at his age. A wise Bairaagee when you realize his spirtuality. Such as the innocent Indraj Singh. Some people had observed him crying in Bairaag during Keertan but non realized how pure …

Kabīr jāṯ julāhā kiā karai hirḏai basė gupāl. Kabeer, what can my lowly status as a weaver do to me? The Lord dwells in my heart. ਕਬੀਰ ਰਮਈਆ ਕੰਠਿ ਮਿਲੁ ਚੂਕਹਿ ਸਰਬ ਜੰਜਾਲ ॥੮੨॥ Kabīr ramaīā kanṯẖ mil cẖūkeh sarab janjāl. Kabeer, the Lord hugs me close in His Embrace; I have forsaken all my entanglements. ਜਾਤਿ = caste, status; ਜੁਲਾਹਾ = weaver; ਹਿਰਦੈ = heart; ਬਸੇ = reside; ਗੁਪਾਲ = God; ਰਮਈਆ = God; ਕੰਠਿ = close to; ਚੂਕਹਿ = forsaken, stopped; ਸਰਬ = all; ਜੰਜਾਲ = entanglements, distractions. Vaaheguroo jee kaa khalsaa, Vaaheguroo jee kee fateh! The plan was to do a Chaupaee Sahib paath for next week's kamaaee period but a bhainjee recommended to give sangat several options to do certain banis, which were Sukhmani Sahib, Asa Kee Vaar and Mool Mantar Jaap. After this period, we can either continue doing shorter banis and build up to longer banis like Sukhmani Sahib and AsaKeeVaar, some of us do these daily but for those that don't its best to start small and go long. If there's any recommendations or certain banis you would like to do please post so we can all do them together as a sangat instead of having different polls for different dates, then it will get…

"you Have Only One Month To Live"

Vaheguru jee kaa Khalsa Vaheguru jee kee fateh! Imagine if someone told you that you were going to die in one month. What would you do? Well, this happened in reality to a fortunate person, not very long ago. I heard this story, that occurred about 10 years ago in my native village in India. There lived in that village a person called Ravel Singh. Ravel Singh did not learn to read and write as was the case in our villages in the 40s and 50s, and as such could not read Gurbani. When he grew up to be a youth, he became entangled in bad company and started drinking and doing other bad things. In short he led a life of a saakat (manmukh, bemukh) all his life. I dont know …

Some days back I was doing some shopping with my elder sister and met one of her friends. She was with her husband and we took them to our house. My sister' friend told us about her marriage. In her childhood, she had suffered from polioo and as a result one of her legs was bent and was not normal. In the college, where she and my sister studied together, there were quite a few punjabi boys who always ignored her and at her back called her 'langgriiii'. She always suffered from immense inferiority complex. But there was one south indian boy in the college who had come from karnataka and was from a rich communist(atheist) background. He always used to give special respect …
