Hi, Is anyone able to recommend sikhi matrimonial sites/apps as i'm struggling currently. Looking for Sehajdhari/Amritdhari women. I know Shaadi.com is taken the mick out of but has anyone used or would recommend? Thanks for any replies in advance.

so, i'm in year 12, uk. my parents are like sort-of connected with sikhism, but not much. they still eat meat and modify the hair, and while i try not too. my parents forces me to like remove the hairs and eat the meat and i try not to but i most of the time don't win and i feel guilty. i wanted to take amrit, but my parents don't let me and say im too young. i've learnt gurmukhi and the rehat myraada from online and gurughar. every time i take a step towards being a sikh, they pull me back. i feel like i'm losing my faith what should i do? should i give up or should I wait till i'm more control of my life?

Hello, my faith is wavering, I have tried to upload this many times but it never has. I am not sure who to talk to about this as there is no one I am comfortable to share my thoughts. But I am struggling with religion and how to choose the right one. How do we know sikhi is the right religion rather than religions like islam and christianity. I used to be confident as a kid but as I grow up I am not as sure and lack faith. I wonder if it is because our community is small? Or fear mongering from the Abrahamic faiths Any advice or experience would be very helpful.

Hi all I had a question for all of you who follow strict bibek rehit. It makes no sense to me at all. Bibek from what I understand should be not to eat jootah food, or food made from bad people. This is understandable and I respect that. However I know so many AKJ Amritdharis that simply will not eat food at random Gurdwaras, and from other Amritdharis (including their own mothers!!) who are not part of the AKJ. To me this is just cultish behavior and screams of blind practices which make no sense with the teaching of the Gurus. For example... Guru Gobind Singh employed Gangu, a Brahman who served as a chef in the Guru's Kitchen. This chef made food for his OWN childre…

I just met one person today......he is amritdhari..... While having a word with him he asked me....in ur opinion who is Amritdhari..... I said whosoever follow Guruji is Amritdhari....then while discussing some issue related to sikhi he said I m 3ho sikh.....I dont understand y people classify themselves as 3HO, AKJ n other jathas....means its better to call urself a sikh rather then further classifying it......, Fer loki kende gussa kyo kardi e eh kudi...... Y these sikhs dont understand that jathebandi can never b part of Sikhism......

I come from an amritdhari family and i was brought up with sikh values and morals however I have made lots of mistakes for various reasons... Vjkk Vjkf I lost my virginity about 3 weeks ago and i feel as if my life is going downhill. I haven't been able to do Amritvela between 12-6am and my faith towards Sikhi is going away from me i feel. back then was waaaay different. ppl didn’t attend higher education or have much to do after the age of like… 13, lol. you’d have 13 year olds boys and girls that know how to do kethi, cook entire meals, etc nowadays even 22 year olds are extremely immature and can be sheltered. the average person doesn’t know how to do anything except their 9-5 which they are probably half arsing as well.

Seriously?? The Dhadi is trying to be cute. For those who didn't get it, he said: "Some say Maharaj killed bakras (goats). Some say he cut the heads of the Panj Piyaras. The truth is that they weren't goats. It was she-goats (ਬਕਰੀਆਂ). He jhatka'd she-goats. Not he-goats." Wow. This is possibly the stupidest thing I've ever heard in relation to Sikhi.
