I got engaged to a gursikh girl in a arrange one in last January .she is born in Canada and lives there from birth , we at the start talked about setting here in Punjab and all agreed upon it but with time she told me ,she don't want to settle here and just want to live in Canada only , I just don't know what to say now , when my parents talk they sometimes says go settle on Canada and live there and sometimes they are emotional like a child should stay with their parents .I don't know I m just confused I mean its my first love and she is good natured but I want to be here for my parents I don't want to leave them at their old age like this ,I m just don't know what to do…

Is it possible to stay at Bhindran taksal and has anyone from the west gone there to stay for a while (like year+)? What vidiya is taught there, santhya, keertan, etc? What other places can one go to learn vidiya and do kamaayee?

I am a 25 year old British born Sikh and have kept my kesh my entire life, I have a fairly long flowing beard and disproportionately long mustache. The hairs are around 4 inches long!! Hi there! I'm a 17 year old guy, born in a Punjabi family and need some help. Although my family calls itself "Sikh", no one in it is practicing or has much knowledge about the teachings of the religion. Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh i am a young amritdhari, who needs your help... The problem is that I’m not feeling that long lasting “buzz” anymore. I do seva, during that period it feels amazing, doing Simran feels amazing, but afterwards, I just go back to feeling “urgh” I used to love going to Kirtan programmes, but now i feel like they are all the same (still attend them). And because of this lost buzz I don’t feel like getting up for amritvela. I quickly listen to my path in bed. I’ve tried listing to katha, doing more seva. Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa, Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh. I recently had watched the video of Giani Thakur Singh ji about the coming changes. He literally told that we have maximum 4 years. I have also asked several other Gursikhs about this and they said that they aware of it. One gursikh (naam abhyasi) who left his body in 2002 told that the coming years (after 2012) will be very difficult for mankind. Don't you think that we have to make the world aware of the coming apocalypse so that they prepare themselves (by simran and prayers..)? Regards, Waljinder Singh

Leaving aside Guru ji, the general question of taking afeem (opium) in limited quantities for war/medical wounds is simply unproblematic. When you go to the hospital, they give you morphine. What do you think morphine is? It's an opiate. Even codeine (cough syrup) is an opiate! Ever had a cough? Granted, it is against Gurmat to take opium or other drugs for the fun of it. -
Yeah, that's one possibility. Another I initially thought is that it's a Muslim trying to gather info. But then, you might ask, how does he know about Sikh textual sources. Well, you'd be surprised at their resourcefulness. A final possibility is he's a weak Sikh who was asked a question by a non-Sikh and now he's suddenly feverishly wondering where it's "written" that you can't marry a young child. To the latter, I would say, you're looking in the wrong spot. back then was waaaay different. ppl didn’t attend higher education or have much to do after the age of like… 13, lol. you’d have 13 year olds boys and girls that know how to do kethi, cook entire meals, etc nowadays even 22 year olds are extremely immature and can be sheltered. the average person doesn’t know how to do anything except their 9-5 which they are probably half arsing as well.
