  2. A young child before going to bed whines for sugar filled cookies. Ask many times to eat the cookies from his mom. The young child mom continues to resist to give in, as she knows the conquences to giving sugar filled cookies. The mother has the explanation to why the young child should not eat the cookies, but the child keeps asking why not. The child hears the explanation over and over and does not want to hear or accept the reason. The young child starts to cry for the cookies and even try's to grab the cookies from the counter. The mother pulls them back and in an authoritative voice tells her young child, they can't have the cookies. The young child continues to cry and eventually screams and yells, but then runs off into their room. At this point for the young child, their mom is the worst person in the world and you hate her to some degree. One way or another many of us, if not all have gone through this. Whether buying candy, toys, or other things that the boss (mom) knows is not good for us. If you think back to these incidents and ask yourself was mom right, not to give the cookies to me? And you would say, yes because you understand now that eating the cookies would have caused problems for you in the future. But as a young child we don't understand why, even though it is explained to us a thousands of times. We might consider ourselves wise now for understanding worldly duties (not to eat cookies before you go to sleep), but what about when it comes to Gurbani? Our knowledge on Gurbani is very low, infact it's just the same as when we were kids and asking for thousands of choclate bars, only to find out later, we get some really bad stomach cramps. When we look at the 52 Hukams of Satguru Sri Guru Gobind Singh Sahib ji Maharaj or the Rehat Maryada given to us by the Punj Pyare, we look at it with the eyes of a young child because we don't have the knowledge to know any better. But we question, doubt some Hukams given, and then deny them to the point of not following. How are we any better than the young child we were once, yelling, screaming and kicking for something thats not good for us? The strict Rehat Maryada given to us is not there to hurt us, but once we practice and understand Gurbani deeper, we can understand why certain Hukams we previously questioned, were written and enforced. Just like out of love our moms didn't let us destroy our health. Our Guru out of love has given us instructions, so we can actually feel the love he gives and we can unite with him. If we continue to behave like young children, then eating many chocolate bars only gave us stomach cramps, but think about what the punishment for denying Satguru's Hukams would be? I witnessed something that Amritdhari sisters were doing today. They are well respected in the Sikh community and their actions were against Maharaj Rehat Maryada. It made me think....if such sisters have fallen victim to maya of this high degree, then I'm nothing infront of them and can fall victim to such low levels of maya in a second. After seeing such acts, a strict Rehat has become even more important to me.

  3. Panthic issues have come to the forefront following the decision to hang our great Gursikh brother bhai sahib bhai Balwant Singh Rajoana ji. Now is the time to also take action against the promotion of Sumedh Saini (alleged to have killed and tortured innocent Sikhs) to the Director General of Police in Punjab by our so called "panthic sarkar"- Akali Dal Badal. We must not let this disgraceful decision by Parkash Singh Badal go unnoticed. We need to put the Jathedars and panthic leaders on the spot and ask them to take strong action against this decision. I have a feeling that the promotion of the notorious Sumedh Saini will go unnoticed which will be terrible for the Sikh Panth. Who knows what he could do in the future following his past actions. There should be mass protests, especially in Punjab, to put pressure on Badal sarkar to reverse their decision. What kind of action needs to be taken? - (I think during speeches/protests for bhai Balwant Singh ji Rajoana we should also highlight the fact an enemy of the Sikh Panth is sitting at the top of the Punjab police and we will simply not accept this. For sure, bhai Balwant Singh ji Rajoana would have objected to the decision.) Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh

  4. its so funny seeing "little kids" talking about adult things. Acting like they know what they are talking about. You have NO clue! If you don't know, just be quiet!

  5. Veerji don't worry. It was an accident. Waheguru will understand I am sure as you did not do it purposely. I am glad you took Amrit to become a Guru da Sikh. I took Amrit last year. Before that I drank heavily, ate maas and did drugs. I thank Waheguru everyday for the Darshan he bestowed upon me to take Amrit. I begged and begged and finally I can now call myself a Sikh. What I am trying to say is that if Waheguru can forgive me and let me take Amrit after all my dirty mistakes, I am sure Waheguru will forgive for a mistake that was unintentional. 6. Go to India you say....and die like the other half million of our brothers and sisters ? Umm....interesting idea. Not. Don't you think its better that we serve as an inspiration to our brothers and sisters there ? Our brothers and sisters whose media never mention the facts we mention here.......so platforms such as this being the only way they can actually learn the truth ? Don't you think that'll be more usefull than going over there and dying ? I suggest you read up on the New York Jews in the 1940's and 50's. Just like us, they were 2nd and 3rd generation american / UK born. What they did was sset the ball rolling. They saw their function as spreading awareness among the jews that either didn't know or didn't care....about a jewish homeland. I'm sure they're mighty glad there wasn't a jewish version of you around at that time telling them to stop spreading awareness and go away to be killed.

  11. Brother, how can you assume that the poor are greedy and don't love God? You are implying that they are poor because they have sinned, and as such they deserve their fate. That is the kind of logic that higher castes used to subjugate the lower castes. Guru Nanak never thought like this. He always preferred the company of the poor over the company of the rich. It is a shame that even a single person should go hungry in Amritsar, a city founded on Sikh ideals and guru ka langar.

  12. That line you are quoting from GGS states that we are reborn because of our past karma. God is giving us another chance to get it right. It doesn't say that he is punishing some by making them born poor.

  13. My experience is the exact opposite. Apart from the holy shrines, the place is running on borrowed time. Society is depraved and corrupt from top to bottom. There's pockets of good here and there but not enough to instill confidence for any kind of change for the future. The materialism is off the scale, the potential for paap is around every corner. You go visit somebody's house and you're not sure what you'll bring back with you... :nono: But like I said, for me, the Gurudwaras are the only reason worth visiting Panjab; not just to stare at buildings but there really is a completely wonderful feeling of spirituality that I find to be worth suffering the negative experiences. EDIT: After reading the first paragraph in isolation it sounds like I could be describing any city on earth. :lol2:

  14. Sant Baba Jarnail Singh ji Khalsa would not talk when he was in the earlier stages of doing Bhagti. Sant ji would sit in his room for countless hours doing Bhagti. When he came out of his room, he would speak nothing of the world and eat little. Then go back and keep doing Bhagti. This is an important stage in your jeevan and the best thing to do is keep quiet (as your atma is telling you), have full faith in Satguru (you won't drift away from family), and keep doing Bhagti. Many people don't even get to this stage or many take western advice at this stage and lose many blessing they would have got. Then it's back to square one for them. Like Satguru says, if you want to play this game of love with me, then don't pay attention to public opinion (includes family) and give me your head. Satguru is guiding you closer to him. Many can't go for a second without talking because their mind is always racing....they have no peace in them. Some can't sit for a second with their eyes closed because they think this world is reality. A Gursikh can sit for hours quiet with their eyes closed because they know on all four sides they are protected by Sri Vaheguru Ji Maharaj and Maharaj is inside them.

  16. When it comes to sikhi and kurbani then it doesn't matter what society do they belong to. Shaheeds came from all type of background. We should respect what they did for us and not get involved into such silly talks with no end.

  18. I would say the West's attempt at demonsing and chipping away at Islam - not that they'd ever admit to it - has only served to strengthen the religion and the veracity of faith of it's adherents. If anything it's a policy that's backfired.

  19. Quran and Islam are flawed concepts if you dig deeper into their background and quotes you can find the truth. But a muslim has to have an open mind to find the truth blind faith wont save them when this life is over so its in there interest to explore Sikhism and other different spiritual ideologies. In my personal view Islam has past its sell by date, prophet muhammad was a man of his times he was no saint nor was he a complete villain he tried to do the best he could for his people in the times he lived in, so he was more of a social reformer but in the modern age his ideology does not stand up to the sciences/technologies, freedoms and human rights that most people want these days.

  21. Lol. I'm loving the Torres example. But...on the flip side....for every 'Torres' there's always an Andy Caroll and Robbie Savage that would suggest otherwise. But.....then again...thinking about it...Beni Assia-Kouto has been performing wonders left back for Tottenham ever since he's let his afro grow wild.

  22. Whilst I'm not one to support my beliefs in Sikhi through links with the Bible, even as a kid I always found the tale of Samson and his kesh fascinating. There must be something in it when so many different (non-Sikh) sources cite kesh as a positive. I mean look what happened to Fernando Torres when he cut his hair and moved to Chelsea - the poor fellas been firing blanks ever since.

  24. Me: Waheguru Ji, can I ask You a question? Waheguru Ji: Sure Me: Promise You won't get mad Waheguru Ji: I promise Me: Why did You let so much stuff happen to me today? Waheguru Ji: What do u mean? Me: Well, I woke up late Waheguru Ji: Yes Me: My car took forever to start Waheguru Ji: Okay Me: at lunch they made my sandwich wrong & I had to wait Waheguru Ji: Huummm Me: On the way home, my phone went DEAD, just as I picked up a call Waheguru Ji: All right Me: And on top of it all off, when I got home ~I just want to soak my feet in my new foot massager & relax. BUT it wouldn't work!!! Nothing went right today! Why did You do that? ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Waheguru Ji: Let me see, the death angel was at your bed this morning & I had to send one of My Angels to battle him for your life. I let you sleep through that: ਮੰਨੈ ਜਮ ਕੈ ਸਾਥਿ ਨ ਜਾਇ ॥ Mannai Jam Kai Saathh N Jaae || मंनै जम कै साथि न जाइ ॥ The faithful do not have to go with the Messenger of death. Me (humbled): OH Waheguru Ji: I didn't let your car start because there was a drunk driver on your route that would have hit you if you were on the road. I do not let My devotees see the difficult times; this is My innate nature. Me: (ashamed) Waheguru Ji: The first person who made your sandwich today was sick & I didn't want you to catch what they have, I knew you couldn't afford to miss work. All sorrows and sicknesses are eradicated, and you become ever-fresh and rejuvenated. Me (embarrassed):Okay Ji Waheguru Ji: Your phone went dead because the person that was calling was going to give false witness about what you said on that call, I didn't even let you talk to them so you would be covered. He who is protected by Me, The Helper Lord Waheguru Ji - what can the world do to him?
