  2. The issue arises when Udhasis and Nirmale say they are not required to take Amrit and then Udhasis bow to Sri Chand (accept him as Guru) and Nirmale try to describe Veda and other religious text as equal to Satguru Sri Guru Granth Sahib ji Maharaj. Nirmale in Guru's times were no different than other Singhs. Nirmale took Amrit from the Punj Pyare and had the same Maryada as Taksal Singhs. Satguru Sri Guru Gobind Singh Sahib ji Maharaj taught Baba Deep Singh ji Maharaj, who is the 2nd Jathedar of the Taksal (first being Guru Sahib himself). In Baba Deep Singh ji Maharaj's time the Nirmale were Amritdhari, they did not just teach, they were shastardhari. Nihang Singhs major role was to fight, Taksal Singhs was to teach Sikhs, and Nirmale SINGHS was to spread Sikhi far and wide. However all jathas took roles of being teachers, fighting in battles and spreading Sikhi far and wide. The Nihang Singhs, Taksal Singhs, and Nirmale Singhs were all taught by the first Jathedar of DamDami Taksal, Satguru Sri Guru Gobind Sahib ji Maharaj. Then later Baba Deep Singh ji Maharaj took on the seva as Jathedar of Taksal. Baba Gurbaksh Singh Ji Maharaj another Singh who fought with his head off, also took vidiya from Satguru Sri Guru Gobind Singh Sahib ji Maharaj and then later became the Jathedar of Taksal as well. Nirmale were also led by an Amritdhari Singh (Sriman Baba Sahib Singh ji Bedi) at the time of the Jathedar of the Taksal was Sant Giani Sant Singh ji. Take for example the Naamdhari incident. Baba Ram Singh ji was a Gursikh. Shastardhari, Amritdhari and fully followed rehat. But what do "his" followers do now? Kirpan is off, bow to fake Gurus, and disrespect Gurbani. If they truly followed Bhai Ram Singh ji, then you would not know the difference between a Singh and Naamdharis. The udhasis and Nirmale (Mostly these to groups) of today, along with some self claimed Nihang Singhs and Taksal Singhs are trying to suck Sikhs into Hinduism. Why are Sikhs today so against Nirmale. It is because they have forgotten their roots of being Amritdhari Singhs.

  3. To be fair, your concern about rappers lying on your floor is justified. If, for some reason, the police knock on your door, they tend to quickly notice things like Snoop Doggy Dog laying dead on someone's living room floor. And given their hectic recording and media interview schedule its only a matter of time before their representatives come a 'nockin'. Seriously though......a house is for LIVING in. I like it when homes show signs of LIFE. I do not like homes to resemble dentist's waiting rooms with their clinical look. I don't expect maggots an rats in people's homes when I visit them, but I expect and want to see lovely signs of life. Things like kids toys scattered about.....a few marks made on the walls by the kids....a few dirty dishes. It is these things that differentiate the cozyness of the home from the clinical nature of the doctor's surgery.

  5. Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa, Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh This Singh has been doing a lot of hard work and has sacrificed a lot of time, effort and money to make these videos. It's not easy to make these videos at all, we watch it and just play it off without understanding how much work goes into them. These videos have done a lot of good in the short collective 40,000 views that BasicsOfSikhi channel has got in all the videos. If you look at their facebook page a lot of people who either wanted to know more about Sikhi or found Sikhi by his videos show their love and appreciation. We all are young and know the various hurdles we take for even doing basic things such as keeping our kesh and then taking Khade Bate Da Amrit. Often Sikhs, especially new Sikhs, face psychological pressures from family, relatives and backwards Punjabi community. If we see someone like the Singh who makes the BasicsOfSikhi videos it's easy to dissociate ourselves from the struggles he has gone through in making the actual videos and not pay a seconds thought to it. I don't doubt he probably went through pressures from family, relatives and friends telling him not to do it because I know if I were to do the same thing that he is doing, I would face similar hurdles and problems. He has taken the step that many of us secretly wanted to do and he is doing it really well, from now on out his videos will only IMPROVE with the support and love from the Guru's Sangat. The videos are already amazing, but with support they will inevitably become better and better. Often we say we need more Sikhs or more Sikhs dedicating time to Sikhi, well there are many who do and the Singh has done a fair share of sewa and continues to do so, we just don't recognize it. The very basic we can do is share his videos on twitter, facebook or simply show our families and friends in person or via email. It's easy to criticize and find fault, but it's hard to accept and help. Even if you know what the Singh is talking about, it's the job of the GurSikh sangat to promote these basics that talk about Sikhi so people who may not know as much as others will have an opportunity to see this great parchar done in English. Benti, please show your appreciation and support for such Sikhi parchar by supporting these videos by subscribing to the channel and like, favorite and share the videos in whatever means possible. 6. Throughout my childhood and teaching whether at home/Sakhis/Gurumukh's/Gianis/KATHA's, I heard Guru Nanak Dev Jee's Prakash Utsaav comes in the month of Kathak and on Kathak Puranmaashi, but today is Maghar month Puranmaashi. I am just confused how is the date set? 15 Days + DIWALI? Any day/date or the first Puranmaashi after DIWALI? The setting of DIWALI date is anyway not as per SIKH norms, it is as per when Sri Raam Chandra Jee returned back to Ayodhya, so some days after Dussehra. If such a case, then setting of GURU NANAK DEV JEE's Prakash Purab date relative to DIWALI date, are we going wrong somewhere? Are we loosing our Identity/loosing our important day/dates - such as KATHAK PURANMAASHI as day of GURU NANAK DEV JEE GURUPURAB which should had been on 29th October as per Jantri published on sgpc.net website. Some school of thoughts might say it does not matter the day we celebrate it, but it does matters. BHUL CHUK MAAF.

  10. This is about someone being shy from a girl. It is NOT about sikhism, so I don't know why the counsellers are on here !!! If she makes you feel awkward then just tell her ''look, your nice, we can be friends but NO hanky panky !'' She will get the idea. It is not nice to be negative towards someone if they are approaching you with completely good intentions.-THIS IS BAD for your KARMA'' Do NOT hurt others with intent , she has a heart as well !!

  14. Hehehe..I love this...i was waiting for this one..so predictable...lol..ok lets try different way so they studied from nange udasi sadhus? i didn't know nange hindu udasi sadhus were worldy teachers..how could they after all they are bairaagi udhasi sadhus... so they learnt aspect of sikhi from them...whatever you like it or not..i know people must be thinking how could they study from nange hindu udasi sadhu? what happened to learning from tyar bar tyar naam rasiya bibeki tyaar bar tyaar khalsa? hai hai what happened to their bibek? hai hai manmat RSS hindu? they should have went pesh..hai hai..knock on boparia bhindran kalan gurdwara and demand - sant baba sunder singh bhindranwale come out from sachkhand and pesh himself..hai hai manmat hai hai RSS BJP. where panthic.org with their so called journalism skills..lol when you need them..hahaha.!! It's know fact in puratan times- udasi and nirmale used to teach (spiritual, ayurvedic, gurmat knowledge) to akali nihangs, misal singhs, gristhi singhs alike buts its not a general rule, in fact many great damdami taksal jathedars also teached gurmat/gurbani many udasi without any string attached that they must look like them..yeah same udasi which hybrid types so despise..!! Even right now swami bhramdev "udasi" and gyani sher singh ambala were first ones to come up anti dasam heretics rebuttal while new age hybrid taksali listen to tupac - yo yo songs..!! These hybrid types, have audacity to witch haunt udasi on this for whatever reason..i simply ask them to stop using damdami taksal jathedars name as tokens..they seem to be pretty frustrated/desperate and they will try to remove links of nirmale/udasi with taksal from references pretty border line as what teja singh bhausaria did..so they can keep continue use damdami taksal jathedars as mere tokens for their "propaganda war"..!!

  19. In FarCry 2 there is a Sikh character you can play as. As for historical games there is Victoria 2. It lets you control countries in the 19th century and one of them is Punjab. The game wont be to everyone's tastes and a bit too difficult for youngsters but at least it's something. Here is an account written by a Greek guy of when he played the game as Punjab. I think he's still playing it. http://forum.paradoxplaza.com/forum/showthread.php?568991-Subcontinental-Subtleties-An-experimental-comic-AAR

  23. I have seen many cases of amritdhari being divorced. Number one reason amritdhari being divorced because they think can their other partner is some sort of maya test- its ought break their sikhi like shaudra(low caste) is ought to get pandit break his penances. But at the end it comes down to perception. If you cannot have bhog with your wife when other party gives clues then may be you shouldn't be in the gristhi jevani at the first place. One party living like behingum in gristhi jevan is big no, causes many issues. It's not recommended by mahapursh nor its recommended by senior gurmukhs. But the key issue is - spiritual life should intertwine with your social life but intertwine not replace, thats key difference here..guru maharaj gave us order to live life socially and be in gristh jeevan for that we are given social puratan granths like- prem sumarag granth etc etc. Prem Sumarag granth one of puratan and progressive granths- how to live life socially.singhs have to remember - for the most part- female having bhog with their husband..its more feeling of deep love towards their husband..singhs himself should not be attached with bhog (be nirlaip be still engage) as naturally we tend to be more kaami but singh should engage in bhog with their singhani to keep her happy so she does not feel frustrated inside. You could also look at your own self or perception very carefully and honestly with your bibek buddhi and test yourself, if your perception is based on western standards of bhog birthi (fullfilling your desires), without any question you are kaami you are slave of panj choor, but if your perception is sabh gobind hai sabh gobind hai and showing affection then its fine he/she comes under- "sabh gobind hai sabh gobind hai" then your mind is becoming part of higher dristhi kaun (perception) of sabh gobind hai..!!! So coming backing to the topic if you think using protection is evil that is being influenced by protestant sikhi (wrathful christian god waiting to wimp us like taliban with a stick) at the end of day it depends on perception- i think most of us have wrapped our head around rules so much that itself have became a roadblock and have back fired miserably- no point running away from your fears and shove them under carpet- one day it will revolt and come back out ugly and haunt you...these roadblocks could only be broken if one is honest with themselves and try to do inner khoj at the end one will find perception is everything in sikhi...I used to be like this when i first got into sikhi but finally got salvation from cultish/black and white mentality now by maharaj kirpa i see gurmat from eagle eye - full 360 degree view..maharaj bless with this amazing clear view of Gurmat from eagle eye, its a beautiful view worth living and die for over and over again until fully loosing yourself in Ik Ongkar..!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  24. The people always follow the world. They never follow anything if they can't relate to it. I think that's why Akaal Purakh comes into human form and maat lok so He could set an example for us to live righteously and practice dharma. Consider Ram who left for an exile. The 10th Guru Nanak sacrificed his whole family when the time came. All the avataars lead such life that it influenced people to follow their foosteps. Guru Nanak Dev Ji's life also shows glimpses on every moment on how to live righteously staying within the Hukam. I heard this Katha by Giani Sant Ji Maskeen that Mohammad Sahib and Guru Nanak Dev Ji fell ill at one point in their lives. The doctors said the same thing. That they have no fever and no illness yet they can't understand why the sickness is there. He later mentioned that Mohammad Sahib would go into a cave and chant Allah Hoo and Guru Nanak Dev Ji chanted WaheGuru. Doing simran, both of them killed their "ego". Giani Ji described that the sickness was the result of both of them chanting to the point where they reached the 4th stage of naam simran called para. When this happens, there is simran that originates from the navel. Basically the whole point is that even though these souls are enlightened and mukt, they still abide by His Hukam so we humans could do the same and have an example to live accordingly. In his Autobiography, Guru Gobind Singh Ji mentions that he is stunned by Akaal Purakh's doings but the thing that astonishes him even more is his own life. Gurbani and Guru Granth Sahib Ji always mention Akaal Purakh as the alimighty. But its noteworthy that the tuk from Sukhmani Sahib 'Nanak brahmgyani aap parmeshwar' tells us that there is no difference between Akaal Purakh or The Gurus. Personally when I was an atheist, I thought I could never relate to God because it seemed something so far away. But then I started listening to kathas and in this one katha Giani Thakur Singh Ji said that he knows where at night all the Gurmukhs are at night. I got so anxious and I wanted to know and he proceeded that at night all the Gurmukhs are at Sachkhand. It just hit me like woww. I thought I could never relate to God. Thats another beauty of Sikhism that it is such a practical religion. bhul chuk maaf karni ji

  25. ONE BEDROOM FLAT... WRITTEN BY AN INDIAN ENGINEER... As the dream of most parents I had acquired a degree in Engineering and joined a company based in USA, the land of braves and opportunity. When I arrived in the USA, it was as if a dream had come true. Here at last I was in the place where I want to be. I decided I would be staying in this country for about Five years in which time I would have earned enough money to settle down in India. My father was a government employee and after his retirement, the only asset he could acquire was a decent one bedroom flat. I wanted to do some thing more than him. I started feeling homesick and lonely as the time passed. I used to call home and speak to my parents every week using cheap international phone cards. Two years passed, two years of Burgers at McDonald's and pizzas and discos and 2 years watching the foreign exchange rate getting happy whenever the Rupee value went down. Finally I decided to get married. Told my parents that I have only 10 days of holidays and everything must be done within these 10 days. I got my ticket booked in the cheapest flight. Was jubilant and was actually enjoying hopping for gifts for all my friends back home. If I miss anyone then there will be talks. After reaching home I spent home one week going through all the photographs of girls and as the time was getting shorter I was forced to select one candidate. In-laws I told, to their surprise, that I would have to get married in 2-3 days, as I will not get anymore holidays. After the marriage, it was time to return to USA, after giving some money to my parents and telling the neighbors to look after them, we returned to USA. My wife enjoyed this country for about two months and then she started feeling lonely. The frequency of calling India increased to twice in a week sometimes 3 times a week. Our savings started diminishing. After two more years we started to have kids. Two lovely kids, a boy and a girl, were gifted to us by the almighty. Every time I spoke to my parents, they asked me to come to India so that they can see their grand-children. Every year I decide to go to India But part work part monetary conditions prevented it. Years went by and visiting India was a distant dream. Then suddenly one day I got a message that my parents were seriously sick. I tried but I couldn't get any holiday and thus could not go to India ... The next message I got was my parents had passed away and as there was no one to do the last ritual, the society members had done whatever they could. I was depressed. My parents had passed away without seeing their grand children. After couple more years passed away, much to my children's dislike and my wife's joy we returned to India to settle down. I started to look for a suitable property, but to my dismay my savings were short and the property prices had gone up during all these years. I had to return to the USA... My wife refused to come back with me and my children refused to stay in India... My two children and I returned to USA after promising my wife I would be back for good after two years. Time passed by, my daughter decided to get married to an American and my son was happy living in USA... I decided that had enough and wound-up every thing and returned to India... I had just enough money to buy a decent 02 bedroom flat in a well-developed locality. Now I am 60 years old and the only time I go out of the flat is for the routine visit to the nearby temple. My faithful wife has also left me and gone to the holy abode. Sometimes I wondered was it worth all this? My father, even after staying in India, Had a house to his name and I too have the same nothing more. I lost my parents and children for just ONE EXTRA BEDROOM. Looking out from the window I see a lot of children dancing. This damned cable TV has spoiled our new generation and these children are losing their values and culture because of it. I get occasional cards from my children asking I am alright. Well at least they remember me. Now perhaps after I die it will be the neighbors again who will be performing my last rights, God Bless them. But the question still remains 'was all this worth it?' I am still searching for an answer.................!!! START THINKING IS IT JUST FOR ONE EXTRA BEDROOM??? LIFE IS BEYOND THIS ..DON'T JUST LEAVE YOUR LIFE .. START LIVING IT . LIVE IT AS YOU WANT IT TO BE

  26. There is crime in all areas all over the UK, however in terms of the midlands i would say handsworth has a lot of crime around some parts of that area, people getting robbed. Smethwick, west Bromwich are good places to live with good transport links and a a lot of sikhs live here. Wolverhampton some parts may be good but its a city id keep out the cities like wolves/bham and keep within a nice small area.

  27. I love your attitude, the affection and the faith that you show in your child.. Its great to know that he is progressing good with Maharaj's blessings.. Parent's attitude, understanding of their child's needs, love, support also help children with disabilities to a large extent.. Acceptance from people outiside the home, at Gurudwara is very important and he is very much entitled to respect just as any son/daughter are.. Other members may be able to help you more.. I do wish you all the very best as you see you son progressing amazingly well with Maharaj's Aasraa! Thanks for sharing.. Bhull chuk mauf karna ji.. :waheguru:
