  1. Waheguru ji ka khalsa Waheguru ji ki Fateh "eh muslim priwaar har mahene ik war darbar sahib de darshan karan jroor aunda hai galbaat de dauran enha dasea k 1984 vich jdo ik sikh (nishan singh na dasea ena os sikh veer da) hindua to bachdea hoyea ena de ghar aa wadeaa ta ena ne apne ik put de sir te pag ban k jis de dhadi rakhi hoie c nu onha de havale kr dita te onha ne enha de samne agg jiode nu la diti .galbaat daoran eh sab futt futt k ro paye ate kendhe asi ethe allha da sukar krn aunde ha par asi apne dharm vich parpakk ha ate kehnde saanu etho di rohaaniat sanu khich leaodi hai." "This Muslim family come to Darbar Sahib every month for darshan. While talking to them, they told that in 1984, a sikh ( his name was Nishan Singh) running from Hindus came to their house for shelter. They tied turban to one of their son's head, who has beard, and gave him to the Hindu mob. Their son was burnt alive in front of their eyes. They started crying during this conversation. They said that they come to Darbar Sahib to thank Allah but they are devout Muslims. The roohaniat of Darbar Sahib brings them here" Before bashing other religions, please understand that TRUTH exists in every religion. At the end, God will not judge us based on our religion, but on our actions.Lets improve our actions and be what our Gurus want us to be. Consider all human race as one!!

  2. Let me correct you, a lion should let two stray street cats fight over a piece of meat till they scratch each other bloodily, and walk away as if he wasn't concerned a single bit. You should never make the mistake of taking Sikhs as cats. History has proven otherwise.

  4. We always hear about the role of the Budha Dal in it's capacity as a parallel component of Akal Takhat and Shahidan misl, but whatever happened to the Tarna Dal during the Anglo-Sikh wars???? What actions did it undertake along with it's parallel budha dal contemporaries in order to prevent British encroachment of Punjab, and what did it do in the aftermath??? What of it's sub-battalions, what were their roles during this conjuncture????? Has their been a decisive re-writing of history under our very noses concerning Akali Singhs and their history?????

  10. Own brown people? Erm... ok. So all brown people have to support Islam? And it isn't racist when you criticise an ideology. Anyway, why should we stay away from it. It involves us just as much as anyother group. Just saying that many mosques and imaams call for Sikh and Hindu girls to be converted. (A Muslim also told me this). They target our girls, why can't we be involved?

  11. Nope, Jazzy B is pretty normal actually. Aside from the fact he's a famous singer. He's a moderate Punjabi Sikh and he's fiercely proud of his roots. He's also a musician and selling records is his job. Like it or not sex appeal sells. Life is full of contradictions. I know you REALLY want to say he's 'not a true Sikh', but Jazzy B never claimed to be super religious (although he has done devotional music...). When it comes to the kind of sleaze the music industry IS CAPABLE of then seriously Jazzy B... REALLY isn't that bad . At least he's not a typical 'Gangsta Rapper'... And yes I have seen 'This Party Gettin Hot'... It's hilariously crappy. Fact of the matter is Jazzy B is a legend in the music industry (considered the king of Bhangra). Instead of thinking about how much of regular Mona Sikh he is, you SHOULD be thinking... How much GOOD is this guy doing, is he helping Sikhism become more well known, successful and acclaimed? The answer is YES, so we should support him instead of trying to alienate him. The same goes for any Sikh in showbiz, judge them for the good they can do AS WELL AS calling them out for the bad. The fact that the first and pretty much only South Asian singer to break into America with English music is a Punjabi Sikh called Kamaljit Singh Jhooti (Jay Sean) and wears a kara. You CANNOT DENY that there are Sikhs (especially girls since all he seems to do is love songs ) that feel good about that. Hard Kaur on the other hand... She's just another talentless rapper and she's been around forever. She seems to try and get attention by being controversial and sleazy... and still nobody really cares. As far as I can tell she's not doing much good for Sikhs or anyone. Also the fact that she has KAUR in her stagename is freaking ridiculous, you can't even separate her from her Sikh roots and see her as JUST A PERSON WHO HAPPENS TO BE A RAPPER...

  12. He can't even look at the camera straight up and talk. He attacked Bhai Havara Jee while he was bound by hand cuffs. Shows what type of coward he is. Anyone can attack a caged lion, real bravery would have been had he faced a Singh who is not bound. Yet he still got slapped. People like him do these types of foolish antics just so they can be noticed by the top leadership of the BJP or RSS and maybe they can reward him for his so called "bravery".

  15. I can admit to being childish now and again, but I think you may have me beat this time. I mean really? Calling Winston Churchill an English Hitler? Did he commit any genocides that I'm not aware of? I'm pretty sure he's hailed as a hero for defending Britain and defeating Nazi Germany in World War 2... Not to mention Churchill served in the armed forces and likely had more experience in Muslim countries and majority Muslim states than YOU yourself have. And you're saying he's less intellectual than... David 'The Chameleon' Cameron! Instead of dissing Winston Churchill, why don't you explain what's actually FACTUALLY WRONG about what he said? Oh you want another quote? About Indian religions this time? NO PROBLEMO! ".....It is a matter of regret that due to the obsession of the present times people are distorting the superior religious and social values, but those who wish to preserve them with respect, we should appreciate them as well as help them. Sikhs do need our help for such a cause and we should give it happily. Those who know the Sikh history, know England's relationship with the Sikhs and are aware of the achievements of the Sikhs, they should persistently support the idea of relaxation to Sikhs to ride a motorbike with their turbans on, because it is their religious privilege." Churchill, further added: "...British people are highly indebted and obliged to Sikhs for a long time. I know that within this century we needed their help twice and they did help us very well. As a result of their timely help, we are today able to live with honour, dignity, and independence. In the war, they fought and died for us, wearing the turbans. At that time we were not adamant that they should wear safety helmets because we knew that they are not going to wear them anyways and we would be deprived of their help. At that time due to our miserable and poor situation, we did not force it on them to wear safety helmets, why should we force it now? Rather, we should now respect their traditions and by granting this legitimate concession, win their applaud." - Sir Winston Churchill, addressing British Parliment. Happy? It sounds quite positive! This Churchill bloke sounds like a decent guy to me mate ----- Global village? Not quite... I have American friends I speak to everyday, but that doesn't mean I know what it's like to live in Boston day in day out. ----- Sorry to break it to you but it's true, EVERY kind of person and even ex-Muslims are indeed gravitating to the EDL. Maybe it's growing even faster than Islam? If these 'Defense Leagues' are not important enough to care about, then why are so many Muslims and Leftists afraid? Why are they constantly shouting the EDL down and closing down legitimate debate? Why are they trying so hard to get organisations like it banned? The Leftist media and the BBC just look like cartoon clowns now, everyone can see right through them. ----- If Muslims don't want to drink alcohol or eat pork, that's entirely up to them. I don't drink, but pork is just delicious . POLLUTING the food that the other 95% of the country wants to eat? That is unacceptable, and it's happened too often. Too long have supermarkets lied to the masses about where their meat comes from. Schools have served Halal food to children without parental consent. Restaurants serve Halal without making sure people are adequately informed or even get a choice of anything else. All of this for simple moneymaking reasons like CHEAPER COST OF MEAT AND MORE POTENTIAL CUSTOMERS. It's a travesty and needs to end. The few do not get to erode the rights of the many. Sikhs of course are forbidden to eat Halal, the Guru's rejected barbaric ritual slaughter in ALL of its many forms. However the fact of the matter is NO non-Muslim wants to support the Halal Meat Industry ESPECIALLY without knowing about it, and when they DO know they definitely don't want to support it . Halal slaughter abattoirs? Where animals are brutalized? Where only Muslims can work? Where money goes to Jihad? NO THANKS BRO. In fact lets flip it and think about Muslims suffering! (which is all you care about) How many times have we seen situations where food that is SUPPOSED to be Halal, has not actually lived up to Halal standards? Either it's been stunned and killed 'incorrectly', or it's got Pork DNA in it or has been contaminated in some other way. The system of handling meat has failed Muslims and they've been lied to as well. Halal should be banned in Britain (and Western) countries, it's simply incompatible and doesn't work. If they want to eat Halal meat they can do it in a Muslim country. That way we ALL know where we stand. In Sura 5:3: Muslims are ALLOWED to eat non-Halal meat if it there is no other option for them, so there really shouldn't be a problem. That said Europe is quite used to 'Muslim Uproar' by now anyway . ----- As for Hijabs and Burqa's well... Sura 33:59: O Prophet! Tell your wives and your daughters and the women of the believers to draw their cloaks (veils) all over their bodies (i.e.screen themselves completely except the eyes or one eye to see the way). That will be better, that they should be known (as free respectable women) so as not to be annoyed. And Allah is Ever OftForgiving, Most Merciful. To me that sounds like the Koran is saying women should be completely covered, so the Burqa is more 'official' than the Hijab. Quite frankly to be a REALLY GOOD Muslim, women should only have ONE eye hole! What's wrong with the Burqa? Well tell me what's RIGHT about it? It's dull and not very nice to look at. It's a symbol of female oppression. It completely destroys any forms of communication and integration. Oh and... MUSLIM MEN HAVE COMMITTED ROBBERIES WEARING BURQA'S MANY TIMES BEFORE... Nobody has a problem with the Hijab, it's just a scarf after all. The Burqa however is completely different and not welcome in Britain, even if it was the womans 'choice'. ALL face coverings should be banned for security reasons no matter what. ----- No I'm afraid it's NOT Muslims who get to decide who builds Mosques, it's the LOCAL COUNCILS. Without building permission, you can't build ANYTHING it doesn't matter who you are. Some towns/cities have more Mosques than the Muslims who actually live there know what to do with. There should be a quota system in place. I'd be equally against having a Gurdwara or Mandir on every street corner too, but at least I'd know they weren't having regular talks given by HATE PREACHERS! ----- Bigot? Islamophobe? I was wondering when you'd pull those out. I guess that means I've won the argument. You didn't even have a comeback for Sharia Law courts . What about racist? CALL ME RACIST! Oh wait... You can't call me that because we're both brown...

  16. If you want to march alongside chavs shouting "muhammad is a p***o", "who the f**k is Allah" and do a disservice to Sikhi in the process than that is up to you. Slogans like this clearly show that EDL are not just against militant Islam but Islam itself. This is going to turn moderate Muslims away and polarise people more. They also want the right to insult religion....this will include Sikhi. We saw what happened with the Be-Izatee play and how the majority of the British public was against us for not wanting our religion to made a mockery of. As Sikhs we should be against ANY religion or prophet being insulted. Disagreeing with a religion is OK, but insulting it is not.....there is a difference. We don't like it when our religion is insulted; let's not insult other people's religion. Some of the points they raise are valid and it is due to weak governments and weak community leaders that these have not been addressed. Halal meat is a big one.......it should clearly be labelled. Let people have the choice whether to have halal or non-halal meat. Shere Punjab shouldn't have been dismissed by members of our community when they were highlighting the cases of grooming gangs. They did make a lot of sacrifices for our community and should be given respect. At last the police are putting evil scumbag perverts behind bars. As has been said, there is a higher percentage of them amongst the Pakistani community....this is a problem they need to address. The hate preachers who are against this country should be deported....the government needs to be harder. Regarding EDL members being racist or not, or coming for us afterwards.......have we forgotten the amount of racism we have suffered since 9/11 ? Was this really a case of mistaken identity.......or a chance for racism to rear it's ugly head ? Look at the EDL members........those Sikhs who live in the UK know the reaction you would get if you met one of these on the street. Oh, but it's a case of mistaken identity, they don't know the difference between us and Muslims, I hear you say. Really ? How come no orthodox Jew with an uncut beard is never mistaken for being a Muslim ???? How come no black people are ever mistaken for being Muslim ? This is racism and we need to be fighting against it rather than supporting it. We are never going to be acceptable to them until we have totally assimilated, ie. lost our own heritage and culture. They are desperate now and have their hands full with Muslims; this is why they are trying to push us forward to fight against Muslims. We have to look at the bigger picture and see the issues that have arisen in this country. Multiculturalism has failed.....how many white English people do you know living in Sikh dominated areas like Southall / West London ? They have ALL moved out....why ???? They were saying many of the same things about us that are now being said about Muslims. If you preserve your own culture then you are not integrating with the host community, if you lose your culture then you are a traitor to your own heritage. The economic problems have caused huge anger in the working classes, they are sick of mass immigration and opinion is going towards the right.

  17. Oh we're playing the quoting game? "How dreadful are the curses which Mohammedanism lays on its votaries! Besides the fanatical frenzy, which is as dangerous in a man as hydrophobia (rabies) in a dog, there is this fearful fatalistic apathy. The effects are apparent in many countries. Improvident habits, slovenly systems of agriculture, sluggish methods of commerce, and insecurity of property exist wherever the followers of the Prophet rule or live. A degraded sensualism deprives this life of its grace and refinement; the next of its dignity and sanctity. The fact that in Mohammedan law every woman must belong to some man as his absolute property - either as a child, a wife, or a concubine - must delay the final extinction of slavery until the faith of Islam has ceased to be a great power among men. Thousands become the brave and loyal soldiers of the faith: all know how to die but the influence of the religion paralyses the social development of those who follow it. No stronger retrograde force exists in the world. Far from being moribund, Mohammedanism is a militant and proselytizing faith. It has already spread throughout Central Africa, raising fearless warriors at every step; and were it not that Christianity is sheltered in the strong arms of science, the science against which it had vainly struggled, the civilisation of modern Europe might fall, as fell the civilisation of ancient Rome." - Sir Winston Churchill And I think we can both agree Churchill will forever be considered a FAR more important and much less annoying Prime Minister than David Cameron in the eyes of nearly everyone . Er... Anyway I thought you were American? How do know what it's like to live in British towns and cities? Or are you simply ASSUMING that problems are just being made up? Videos on Youtube all being staged? Are all the tons of arrests linked to grooming false? Why would people make up these problems? Tommy Robinson IS the EDL, you can't simply ignore everything he says. Debates don't work that way Racists exist everywhere, in every community and organisation and at least Tommy is honest enough to accept that the EDL has its share. That said, I haven't seen any EDL members (not that there is a membership system anyway) kill or rape any Muslims? Correct me if I'm wrong. I'm afraid you're simply wrong, people of ALL races and faiths, men and women are siding with the EDL now, it's not just white working class male chavs. The EDL have recently swollen in size after the Woolwich incident and will continue to do so, more and more floodgates are opening. Not to mention, there are 'Defence Leagues' popping up in almost every Western country, and they're all networking together. WHAT is the goal of the EDL? It's pretty plain to see, and I've never even been to a single rally... Sharia isn't welcome in Britain. Any of it. Muslims just have to live without it. That means... No Halal. No Burqa (or any face covering for that matter including balaclava's). No Sharia Law courts. No building more Mosques than necessary in an area. It also means that the police and government need to tackle serious issues and crimes regardless Muslims WITHOUT any of the cover-ups, fear of being called a racist, and just general lack of action and letting Muslims off for the same crimes anyone else would go to jail for. THIS is the kind of thing that is and has been happening in this country for too long and it's led to countless victims. Muslims make up almost 5% of the country in actual fact, not 2-3%. That percentage feels huge when you have whole sections of towns and cities that inhabited almost entirely by Muslims, but this in itself wouldn't be a problem if Muslims integrated better and actually welcomed people. Might I also add that at least 85% of all street grooming cases involve Muslims. Sharia Law courts are NOT recognised by the British legal system, and are only ALLOWED to exist under arbitration rules to oversee small matters. Most importantly they are NOT allowed to go against British Law. Obviously the problem is they go against it ALL the time, conducting marriages that aren't official recognised, handling divorces, wellfare of children and more. Sharia Law in accordance with Sura 4:11 and Sura 2:282 ensures that a woman is only worth half of a man. This has led to Sharia Law courts discrimating against women, and offering dangerous advice such as going back to an abusive husband. This is all documented and PROVEN. As for double standards... Ideally we would have no other system of law in the country EXCEPT for British Law, but at the very least Jewish 'Beth Din' courts don't go against British Law, if they did we would have heard about it by now. Jews understand that the law of the land is absolute. NO OTHER RELIGION goes against British Laws, that is the point. There IS clearly an Islamification of Britain going on, but that time is over now. Muslims are free to live in Britain, but they have to follow the same rules as everyone else and they don't have a choice. I love how you just try to downplay and pass the blame on everything. Please continue it's really quite entertaining .

  20. The funny thing is that the media try and concentrate on the Sikhs linked to the EDL when there are probably more Hindus and Jews who are members of the EDL than there are Sikhs. The EDL have HIndu and Jewish divisions but do not have a Sikh division. There is a Sikhs against the EDL organisation but there is not Jews or Hindus against the EDL organisation, I don't think you can call the EDL right wing, this is just another slur that those who oppose them have painted them with because it will stop non-Muslims from ethnic background from supporting them. The reason that the EDL has such respect for the Sikhs is that the Sikhs have opposed for the last 25 years the same Pakistani grooming that the EDL now oppose. The other communities do not have the same history. Also the Sikhs have shown themselves more than willing to use direct action to oppose anything that they believe is against their community. This ranges from things such as the Behzti incident to the Luton case last year and the Leicester Moghal Durbar attack. The EDL cannot take the same kind of direct action as they would immediate lose any support they have among the public, so in a sense they admire the Sikhs for being able to do such things and yet still be able to retain their reputation for being a law abiding community. All those scare mongers with their belief that Sikhs will be next after the Muslims are dealt with do not understand anything of the EDL. It started off as a protest against those Muslims who were protesting against the army parade in Luton in 2009. It quickly took off but due to the intense demonisation of it by the media and the fact that prior to the Woolwich murder, all Muslim terrorist plots had been stopped in their tracks. So the general public although they were aware that some Muslims were plotting to attack them could remain oblivious because the security services were successful in stopping these attack. With Woolwich this has changed. The public now fear that they may be attacked at anytime so that is why the EDL facebook page went from 20k likes to over 140k likes in a few weeks. Whereas the likes on the UAF and Sikhs against the EDL have remained static. They might have actually gone down if there was a way for people to retract their 'likes' from these pages!

  21. No Sikh should support the BNP as they just like the old National Front racist party. With EDL, their leader appears to be genuine but there is no doubt that a tiny minority of their members are racist. But as Tommy said he does his best to root them out. It is a vicious circle, because the left wing liberal id.iots like UAF and Turban Campaign and Sikhs against EDL keep painting the EDL as racist then they scare away many of the non-whites who might join them or support them, So due to this the small racist element gets a stronger voice than they would otherwise have,

  22. Recently, I have come across various essays and articles being written about prophesies made by various saints and scholars about the impending end of this world, a third world war etc. It is a topic that tickles our curiousity beyond limits! We love to speculate as to what will happen tomorrow, because we fear losing what we have, and we want security and assurance that life will get better for us. Knowing tomorrow is going to be great fun, gives us peace of mind, and knowing tomorrow is going to be a disaster causes us worry, depression and total upset. Also this human mind is always looking for something new to believe in, and loves to travel in thought. From a strictly Gurmat point of view, life carries with it carries with it an element of surprise. Guru Nanak Dev Maharaj could see right into the future but he never wrote out a timeline future history of this planet for us ! and there is hardly any mention of it in Gurbani, because it is the will of God that we should always work on improving our present, making our present a gurmukh jeewan and tirelessly focus on Guru sewa. This is what should really concern us than worry about the future. The future is not just about what will happen next year or the next decade but what will happen in the next few minutes and the next few seconds! This is why the future is exciting and mysterious and an important element of our curiousity. Yet a 'purda; is placed on our minds preventing us from seeing into this future so that life will not end up as a long 'deja vu' where you step into a time space you saw before and this keeps happening. This is not how God intends us to see life and run our lifes, and is inconsistent with gurmat and the teachings of Gurbani/Sikhism. A purdah on our minds helps us experience a special dimension within this mayic universe called 'Newness'' . Even God should not, in our daily lives become deja vu and boring but ever new (sahib mera neet nva). In fact the ability to see newness in everything, and see the signifance and beauty of birth and death is part of a high spiritual and mystical state you attain as you become a high powered gurmukh. Every moment becomes new, exciting, promising and filled with amrit, ras and joy. This is emphasised in Anand Sahib, if read with Guru's kirpa very reflectively. So this mindset about the future has to bother us rather than the churnings of our mind that invoke our curiousity about everything we read or comes to mind, and it is a reflection that our minds are beginning to be restive in the state of sehaj, rather than chanchal and over thinking. God is gracious, and yes as one becomes a more higher powered Gurmukh, the mind becomes less hindered by maya and starts travelling more easily back and forth in time and in and out of space! Such abilities are kept on the back burner, and do not become the obsession of true saints who focus on connecting people to God, and especially Sikh saints who always preach the message of spiritual and religious equality among all Sikhs/Khalsas. Hence the message of Sikhism is a message of focussing on a day to day basis on rehat and simran, leaving the rest in God’s secure hands. Sikhs do not obsess about past sins or about a future messiah. Rather Gurbani focusses on helping us make our minds ‘sundar’ in the eyes of God as we learn to live daily according to the hukum of Akal Purukh and the kirpa of Guru Maharaj. What any blessed soul or saint has to say about the future is a matter best kept very private. Such things are never meant for a general audience as that would be out of sync with gurmat where the focus of preaching has to be on Gurbani, Nam, Khande Batte ka Amrit, Gurbani as Guru, and rehat. The ability to know beyond the present, is given by God as a specific tool to help a blessed person work better with those that come to him for help. As I said before, during Guru Nanak Jee’s time, so much would have been happening all around the world but what Gurujee focussed on, was to travel place to place writing and singing Gurbani to bring Light to the world and drive out the forces of darkness. A Sikh is a humble person, using the mind to do good, to pray and to surrender to God. We have only one brain and it is supposed to be surrendered to God so we become spirit led people living by the order and grace of God. This brain must not become a ground for speculative, erratic, confused, worried, hateful , envious, or spiteful thinking which keeps worrying about the past and future. Rather this brain has to be calm, relaxed, surrendered, joyful, beautiful, loving, kind, forgiving, generous, and never opinionated or desire-churning. Also, you have to remember birth and death are happening less than every second within you as cells die and are born. A gurmukh sees birth and death inside and outside happening continously nonstop. Only God is 'thirh'/stable. Universes are being made and destroyed every second when you have the eyes to see. That death we worry about of our planet is happening I don’t know how many times every minute out there in the vast reaches of space filled with billions and trillions of planets and suns! And that same death is happening at a micro level within you if you could see, faster than I can type this. By the time I have typed this or you have read this, many planets would have been wiped out, trillions and trillions of insects would have died and countless births would have taken place from the birth of worms to humans , fishes , birds and all!. That is why we say God is great! I am not sure how a true Sikh saint would react to know that a prophecy he made is being broadcast to the wide world over the internet, when what he would really have liked is that, what he had to say about Gurbani to be our Guru, ought to have been the main legacy of his life and preaching that should be making rounds on the internet. I am also unsure if his reaction to any harsh words said about him, or his words, would equal to the angry revengeful hysteria it seems to immediately create! As a saint, his life would have been marked by a constant ability to love and forgive and that's what any disciple of his ought to demonstrate and display. Sikhism is NOT and will NEVER be short of saints because Sikhism is from God. In fact ,every Sikh has to have the desire and work 24/7 to become a SANT-SIPAHI. Sikhism is not about the need to worship and look back at saints, while you become complacent about your own rehnee behnee kehnee sehnee!. Sikhism is about BECOMING a saint and if you do not understand this you have not understood the greatness of Amrit and the power of Amrit, the significance of rehat and the sheer volcanic ability of Gurbani to grab your life, twist, squeeze and wring out of you every drop of maya and haumai and fill you to the brim with anand and amrit! This is what any true Sikh saint preaches, and this is the message that needs to trickle into our hearts, minds, souls and lifes so we become walking talking living sant sipahis. In fact this is what makes Sikhism exciting because what is coming is incredibly magical. Any Sikh saint is a heera but not the last heera of Sikhism. More are coming like new stars yet to appear in the night sky! More, more and more! Many many more! Sikhism is not dying! It has just being born! And what it is going to produce in terms of Sant Sipahis is something I cannot describe or explain either! This is what sets apart Sikhism from all other religions. In other religions they have saints and hero worship saints even burying their bodies and creating tombs and remembrance days. But Sikhism is a saint producing factory!!!!!! Sikhism does not create ''followers'' and ''saints'' , two classes of men! No, that is an insult of the reason, the power and the force of the very first Baisakhi and to the Khande Pahul ceremony! Our failure to understand this absolutely and insanely vital point, has been the reccuring reason for our failures! We need to wake up and smell the air like an arctic bear does! Amrit produces Sant Sipahees. That is the inheritance we get from Guru Gobind Singh and it is an empowering and fanatically and insanely exciting reality! Guru jee does not play favourites! His blanket promises about Khalsa cover each and every Khalsa!!!! Your desire should never stop at 'O God help me be a person who respects the teachings and be a disciple of such and such a Sikh saint that I fanatically adore, defend and hero worship'!.No way! Your tearful prayer to God EVERY amritvela should be 'GURU GOBIND SINGH MAHARAJ, PLEASE UNLEASH THE POWER OF AMRIT IN MY LIFE SO I CAN STAND SHOULDER TO SHOULDER TO THE MOST BLESSED SIKHS OF ALL TIME AS A SAINT SOLDIER BROTHER BECAUSE ALL SIKHS WERE MEANT TO BE GUR-BHAIS''. This is the true chardikela power of Sikhi and do not bargain for anything less because if not, all you will be doing, is faithfully attending the barsis of many saints in and out of your life in the name of loyalty and humility without ever becoming a fearless saint soldier khalsa in your own right! And I say this from my observation of what is beginning to happen in the Sikh jagat. Any true Sikh saint worthy of his title, would rather have you becoming a sant sipahee by absorbing the gist of his teaching than bothering with his barsis and birthdays. We need to get back to the days when we kept things simple by having gurpurabs and stopped at that. The rise of cults like the Bande Khalsa, namsharis, and narakdharees should have taught us a lesson as to what happens when we start hero worshipping great important Sikh personages and what happens a few generations down the line. In life, our constant reason for failure is our ability to understand, realise and appreciate our potential while adoring the successes of others. That is why Guru Gobind Singh created a panth where every Sikh becomes a Khalsa, no less no more! And every Khalsa has to have one single focus in life, to become a sant sipahi, no less, no more! This is THE challenge facing the younger upcoming generation if we desire two absolutely vital and important things for the future of the Khalsa Panth from the bottom of our hearts i.e Ekta and Chardiikela. That is the future that needs to concern us.

  23. Waheguru Mantar part 2 We have already discussed above that through the writings of Bhai Gurdaas, the Bani uttered by Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji and the many rahitnaamaas (codes of conduct), it has been established that the shabad or word gurmantar has been accepted as the gurmantar of the Khalsa. Now the discussion on gurmantar will be based on the quotations found in Sri Guru Granth Sahib. Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji in his fifth form, while praising the Timeless Being, says that the Timeless Being exists in the creation in numerous forms and colours, is ever present within each and every life-form, is not a slave to anyone and is entirely carefree. Guru Ji refers to such a Timeless Being as ‘Gur-Wah’ :- Quotation from Gurbani M5 376 inkit jIA kY sd hI sMgw ] kudriq vrqY rUp Aru rMgw ]1] vymuhqwjw vyprvwhu ] nwnk dws khhu gur vwhu ]4]21] nikatt jeea kai sadh hee sa(n)gaa || kudharath varathai roop ar ra(n)gaa ||1|| vaemuhathaajaa vaeparavaahu || naanak dhaas kehahu gur vaahu ||4||21|| He is near at hand; He is the eternal Companion of the soul. His Creative Power is all-pervading, in form and color. ||1|| The Lord is absolutely independent, and totally care-free; O servant Guru Nanak, chant His Glorious Praises. ||4||21|| The word Wah Wah is used in Gurbani to praise the Timeless Being Waheguru. Satguru Ji says that he who praises the Timeless Being Waheguru by using the word ‘Wah Wah’, will be freed from the cycles of births and deaths and jam, the couriers of death, will not approach him. Guru Ji says:- Quotations from Gurbani M3 3/514, M3 515, vwhu vwhu bwxI scu hY gurmuiK lDI Bwil ] vwhu vwhu sbdy aucrY vwhu vwhu ihrdY nwil ] vaahu vaahu baanee sach hai guramukh ladhhee bhaal || vaahu vaahu sabadhae oucharai vaahu vaahu hiradhai naal || Waaho! Waaho! Let all the Gursikhs continually praise Him. Waaho! Waaho! The Perfect Guru is pleased with His Praises. O Guru Nanak, one who chants Waaho! Waaho! with his heart and mind - the Messenger of Death does not approach him. ||2|| Guru Ji says that they who utters ‘Wah Wah’ their faces will glow, meaning they will triumphant in this world and the world hereafter. Quotation From Gurbani M4 313 saudy vwhu vwhu aucrih auTdy BI vwhu kryin ] nwnk qy muK aujly ij inq auiT sMmwlyin ]1] Soudhae vaahu vaahu oucharehi out(h)adhae bhee vaahu karaen || Guru Nanak thae mukh oujalae j nith out(h) sa(n)maalaen ||1|| While asleep, they chant, ""Waaho! Waaho!"", and while awake, they chant, ""Waaho!"" as well. O Guru Nanak, radiant are the faces of those, who rise up early each day, and dwell upon the Lord. ||1|| We have already discussed earlier that according to the writings of Bhai Gurdaas Ji (the word) ‘Waheguru’ is gurmantar and by contemplating upon it egotism is erased. These writings of Bhai Gurdaas Ji are an elucidation of this quotation of SatguruJi:- Quotation from Gurbani M3/515 vwhu vwhu sy jn sdw krih ijn@ kau Awpy dyie buJwie ] vwhu vwhu kriqAw mnu inrmlu hovY haumY ivchu jwie ] vaahu vaahu sae jan sadhaa karehi jinh ko aapae dhaee bujhaae || vaahu vaahu karathiaa man niramal hovai houmai vichahu jaae || Waaho! Waaho! Those humble beings ever praise the Lord, unto whom the Lord Himself grants understanding. Chanting Waaho! Waaho!, the mind is purified, and egotism departs from within. The amount of importance Guru Ji attaches to the word ‘Wah’ is the same as the importance he gives to the word ‘Guru’. Guru Ji says, whosoever while uttering ‘Guru-Guru’ takes the refuge of the Timeless Being Waheguru, he gets to meet the Timeless Being Waheguru. Quotation from Gurbani M5/837 Guru krq srix jy AwvY pRBu Awie imlY iKnu FIl n peIAw ]5] gur gur karath saran jae aavai prabh aae milai khin dteel n peeaa ||5|| Uttering, ""Guru, Guru"", she seeks His Sanctuary; so God comes to meet her, without a moment’s delay. ||5|| M5/213 myry mn Guru guru sd krIAY ] rqn jnmu sPlu guir kIAw drsn kau bilhrIAY ]1] rhwau ] jyqy sws gRws mnu lyqw qyqy hI gun gweIAY ] jau hoie dYAwlu siqguru Apunw qw ieh miq buiD pweIAY ]1] myry mn nwim ley jm bMD qy CUtih srb suKw suK pweIAY ] maerae man gur gur gur sadh kareeai || rathan janam safal gur keeaa dharasan ko balihareeai ||1|| rehaao || jaethae saas graas man laethaa thaethae hee gun gaaeeai || jo hoe dhaiaal sathigur apunaa thaa eih math budhh paaeeai ||1|| maerae man naam leae jam ba(n)dhh thae shhoottehi sarab sukhaa sukh paaeeai || O my mind, dwell always upon the Guru, Guru, Guru. The Guru has made the jewel of this human life prosperous and fruitful. I am a sacrifice to the Blessed Vision of His Darshan. ||1||Pause|| As many breaths and morsels as you take, O my mind - so many times, sing His Glorious Praises. When the True Guru becomes merciful, then this wisdom and understanding is obtained. ||1|| O my mind, taking the Naam, you shall be released from the bondage of death, and the peace of all peace will be found. These words of Guru Ji ‘Vay-muhtaa-jaa vaypar-wah, Guru Nanak daas kahuh gur wah’ have been going on for generations. This proof is obtained from Bhai Santokh Singh’s composition Gurpartaap Sooraj book 4 and chapter 46 where the words ‘Simrahu Waheguru Gurwah’ appear. From this it appears that that the words ‘Gurwah’ and ‘Waheguru’ have been used for the Timeless Being. The gurmantar ‘Waheguru’ which Guru Ji has imparted (to us) is the essence of all names. The numerous ways of uttering this name are included in Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji. Within various separate shabads or words, the form of this mantar or chant appears as ‘Wah’, ‘Guru’ and ‘Gur’. In the combined state, the form of this gurmantar is ‘Waheguru’, ‘Waheguru’ and ‘Gur Wah’. Through some of the words found in Sri Guru Granth Sahib, we have already mentioned above that the form of gurmantar ‘Gurwah’, is because of ‘Wah’ and ‘Guru’. Now some shabads are given which make use of the complete form of gurmantar. These are found in Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji on page 1402 and 1403. vwihgurU vwihgurU vwihgurU vwih jIau ] siq swcu sRI invwsu Awid purKu sdw quhI vwihgurU vwihgurU vwihgurU vwih jIau ]1]6] syvk kY BrpUr jugu jugu vwhgurU qyrw sBu sdkw ] vaahiguroo vaahiguroo vaahiguroo vaahi jeeo || sath saach sree nivaas aadh purakh sadhaa thuhee vaahiguroo vaahiguroo vaahiguroo vaahi jeeo ||1||6|| saevak kai bharapoor jug jug vaahaguroo thaeraa sabh sadhakaa || Waahay Guru, Waahay Guru, Waahay Guru, Waahay Jee-o. Brahmas and Shivas respect and obey You. O Death of death, Formless Lord, I beg of You. By Guru’s Grace, the greatest thing is obtained, and the mind is involved with the Sat Sangat, the True Congregation. You have formed and created this play, this great game. O Waahay Guru, this is all Your making. ||3||13||42|| The presence of this word ‘Waheguru’ in (the Bani) Saveyeh in Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji proves the point that the word ‘Waheguru’ is used for the Timeless Being (the Primal Being). This word has appeared thirteen times on pages 1402 and 1403. So according to the instruction of Satguru Ji, ‘Waheguru’ is the gurmantar that we should chant or contemplate upon. Of all the mantars or chants found in the four ages this is the supreme mantar. Although the word ‘Waheguru’ appears to be rather short when reading and centupling, it is the most potent. It has the power to fulfill all desires and put right all the affairs to the extent that it can transform man into becoming selfless and erase his evil inclinations. It can also connect man with the Primal Being in the innate self thus enabling him to experience the presence of Waheguru. The value of the fruits that man can attain, when he fixes his attention and meditates on the Timeless Being, can never be expressed. Those who contemplate upon the mantar ‘Waheguru’, only those Gursikhs will experience the divine hue and only they will know how priceless and precious the experience is. Being compassionate (the Timeless Being) will save you. Giving examples from the janamsakhi (biography) of Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji, Bhai Santokh Singh Ji writes in ‘Sri Guru Nanak Parkash’- when Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji went to the land of lust, the women there changed Bhai Mardana Ji into a sheep and (seeing this) Guru Ji advised them as follows:- iqq vwihgurU muK nwm jpo Ardws iqhvl kI krIXy ] mn kwmnw pUrn hovihgI hir kIriq pRIiq irdy DrIXy ] Contemplate upon the Name of Waheguru. Make your supplications by offering the karhaa-parshaad. Your desires will be fulfilled, When you keep the Lords praises in your heart. (Sri Guru Nanak Parkash Poorbaardh Chapater 7) In the Triya Raj (where ladies of lust rule) too Guru Ji gave the same advice:- sK sMq Awie qW pY mMq n clwie inj tihl bnwie kIjY Cor rIiq mwn kI ] ‘vwihgurU’ jpo mK jwih Bv jnX dK, Dyiq suK rIiq jXNo sMqoK isMG Bwn kI ] The holy saint has arrived and your spells will not work on him. Learn to serve and do away with egotism. Utter Waheguru and all your difficulties will vanish. Says Santokh Singh (the Guru blessed them with this) beneficial and comfort giving practice. Many other historical references also confirm that the shabad or word ‘Waheguru’ is the gurmantar of the Khalsa. In this century the sants or spiritually evolved beings like Baba Attar Singh Ji Mastuanaa, Sant Baba Nand Singh Ji Guru Nanaksar, Sant Karam Singh Ji Hotee Mardhaan, Sant Sangat Singh Ji Kamaalee-ay Wale, Sant Baba Sunder Singh Ji, Sant Khalsa Gurbachan Singh Ji Bhindraan Wale, Bhai Sahib Bhai Randhir Singh Ji Narangwal Wale, Sant Ishar Singh Ji Rarh-ay Wale, and many other spiritually evolved saint meditated and contemplated upon the ‘Waheguru’ mantar and persuaded many other to take Amrit , the ambroisal nectar, and receive the gift of gurmantar ‘Waheguru’ by treading the path of Gur-maryadha (Sikh code of conduct), sent into motion by Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji.
