  2. Any sentient beings true essential nature is that of liberation even without the want, need and desire for. Any being can be liberated regardless of Sargun factor. Did a perfect God create perfect people and an imperfect God create imperfect people?

  3. I have been reading the comments on this topic which is very relevant for today's society. Many people have this question. Some comments have strayed away from answering the question in the topic heading. I too have strayed away in my comments. Bhul Chuk Maaf. As I was doing my Nitnem this morning this topic crept into my mind. I was doing Anand Sahib Paath and as I remember I was on the pauri, 'Sur Nar Mun Jan Amrit Khojde So Amrit Gur Te Paaya'. I felt as though this pauri provides the basis for answering this question. I want to share something from my life experience: I was born into a Gursikh family, my parents were both Amritdhari. I have never cut my hair, never ate meat, never smoked. As was growing up, I used to go to Gurmat class, Punjabi class, Kirtan class and Paath Santhiya class, But I never really understood what it all meant until I was older. I would read Gurbani but I never actually stopped to understand what Guru Ji was telling me. I always felt that I would take Khande di Pahul one day but now was not the time. I had schools exams to study for, make a career, get married etc.... Many of us Punjabi Sikhs think that oh Amrit is not that important and we are Punjabi, Sikhi is ours, we can take Amrit later on in life, whats the big deal?. I too used to think like this, the fact that I was effectively living like someone who was Amritdhari, I thought that oh I too can take Amrit later, it's not that big a deal. It wasn't until I started to listen to Maskeen Ji's kathas that I really began to understand what Gurbani was telling us. It began to start making sense. I could read Gurbani and understand what I was reading. I began to do more of my own research, listening to other Giani's kathas reading steeks, Sikhi to the Max was also extremely helpful. I felt closer and closer to Guru Ji. I began to feel that nothing else matters in this world. I felt as though Guru Ji was my best friend and I want to go and hug him so tight and never let go from his protection. Guru Ji is all about love, Waheguru Ji is love, Waheguru Ji's language is love. Whoever can love Waheguru will merge with Waheguru and achieve liberation, But to achieve this there is a process. Panj Pyare in 1699 gave their heads for Guru Ji without asking why. This is love and devotion. One who loves truly does not consider consequences, they just accept hukkam because they have faith. I began to feel the same inside me, each time I went to the Gurdwara and did ardas/matha tek before Guru Ji I felt Guru Ji's presence inside me, it was amazing. My love for Guru Ji grew and grew and I finally decided that it was time for me to show my devotion by offering myself at Guru Ji's feet. It took me 26 years to realise this. Some people realise Guru JI's love earlier, they are lucky. I will never forget the day I took Khande di Pahul, I had tears of joy that Guru Ji has accepted me as his Sikh. The most amazing thing is that each time I do Naam Simran and Paath, I get the same taste on my tongue as the Amrit I took at my Amrit Sanchar, this is what evoking Amrit is. I am still amazed to this day. I feel that my journey has just begun though, the more Naam Abhiyas I do the more the taste will stick and become permanent and one day I will receive the Dibb Dristee mentioned in Anand Sahib. It is clear to me that I had to take Amrit and become Amritdhari, otherwise I would not have been able to taste the Amrit in Gurbani. I realise now how important taking Khande di Pahul is to achieving liberation. So yes I do feel (from my experience) that only those who take Amrit from Khande di Pahul will achieve mukti. Gurbani says that those who drink Amrit live forever. To me this says it all. Our life is too short so we must make the most of it. Bhul Chuk Maaf

  4. Sukhbir wasn't coming to Canada to create jobs in Punjab. It was a publicity stunt so that his TV channel and bootlicking newspapers could show how much support he has in Canada. The aim is not for jobs in Punjab but the Lok Sabha elections next year. The party agenda is not to improve the lives of Punjabis but to ensure that he succeeds his father to become the CM of the state. It is a dictatorship in all but name. It is good that he has had to face the embarrassment of cancelling his trip. The worst thing that dictators like the Badals cannot stomach is being embarrassed. Sikhs in other countries like UK and USA should also ensure that the Badals can never step foot in their countries without fear. Well done to the Sikhs of Canada,

  5. Well said n30singh. Punjabis are too dense to think long term in a diplatic sense. Forget using someone for our own agenda, we can't even muster ourselves to do sewa. With that said we need to capitalize on the news and turn it panthic with critical analysis and self reflection that this only caused divisions among Sikhs. These badal chelle may be completely wrong but they are Sikhs nonetheless. The RSS and Indian government doesn't care what kind of Sikh we are they are just enjoying popcorn while we further divide ourselves and build large cement walls.

  6. I am not supporter of this muppet badal and if he wasn't in the power i would have supported this protest vehemently to ban him to coming abroad on grounds of human rights. However I cannot stop but to think about adverse/long term effect of this type of business cancellation on punjab economy jobs as it appears his purpose of this visit to canada is to have business contracts in punjab and create more jobs in punjab. We need to step back and look at things from all angles before take actions as it may inadvertently and advertently cause more harm to our people of punjab long term than good.

  7. The worst thing about the Badals is how they have made the once great Sikh party into a personal family property. Before the Badals, leadership of Akali Dal was always based on seniority. After the leader steps down or dies, then next senior leader would take over. But now they have done what the Gandhi family does where only the children of the leader are allowed to succeed him. Even after the current MLAs and MPs die, they will be succeeded by their good for nothing children or daughter in laws. With such a system in place it is Punjab which will suffer. Congress is no different from Akali Dal because they are doing the same thing. Today the Hara.mzada grandson of Beanta is an MP. He has no qualification of his own but since he is the grandson of the former CM he got the party ticket. Whether it is Akali Dal or Congress but with such retards in position of power, Punjab which was formerly the number 1 state in all of India is now lagging behind other states.

  8. Only thing I would suggest is to keep doing simran as much as you can throughout the day as much as you can. Doesn't matter if your not sitting down crossed legged with 100% focus. The more you do the more it will start automatically and the more you will want to do it. That's what I try and do and find it really helps. Also try and do simran in the sangat. Read SGGS which will really inspire you to do it. Walking whilst doing simran also helps but keep you dhyan looking down and not looking all over the place.

  13. Thats exactly what i said, kaal is transcedental sargun(with gunas/maya) aspect of maha kaal/nirgun roop, maha kaal is non transcedental aspect/roop of nirgun. Sure, there are many interpretations of the above tuk, similiarly baba isher singh ji nanaksar wale give interpertation from bhagti aspect and bhai sahib randhir singh ji gave interpretation from nirgun line of thought of which what i was saying earlier-so we don't confine sri guru gobind singh ji into only sargun aspect.!!

  17. You may be thinking kal outside of realm of akaal purkh as seperate entity..hence there is a confustion or misunderstanding. According to my understanding- in deep layers of gurmat- kaal is maha kaal and maha kaal is akaal purkh himself- maha kaal is non transcedent aspect of nirgun and kaal is transcedent aspect of maha kaal- sargun ..!! Satguru nanak dev sargun (physical body) saroop were not subjected to kaal as their body was made of shud satogun (out of rajo, tamo sato maya). However, one jot is nanak nirgun all the along transcedenting different saroops/various avtars including - kaal itself and himself creating worlds play according to need of time in various kala's according to need- leaving at the end absoutely no dualism at all to spiritual seeker. According to my understanding and i have checked with gyani sher singh ji regarding this also, passage from sri dasam granth regarding various avtars subjected to kaal as their sargun saroop were in fact subjected to kaal as our physical body are all made out of panj tats -body will merge back in maya (see in shalaok nauvan), is to simply raise awareness of sargun upasakhs (of time/present/future) from sargun into nirgun gyan. Above- raising awareness also indicitates why sri guru gobind singh maharaj gave such strong cautionary tarna to us followers so we don't confine him into only sargun aspect- jae ham ko paramaesar ouchar hai | thae sabh narak kundd mehi par hai | Those who call me God, will fall into the pit of hell. Not to mention repeteadely mention of worship of one non dual all prevading nirgun jot in gurbani in aad guru granth sahib ji and sri dasam granth sahib ji via shabad and shabad gyan.

  18. In order to stop terrorist you do not agree with their demands. Throughout Sikh history we have been taught this by Satguru and his Sikhs. Human Right issues were and always will be number 1 issue for Sikhs on a worldly level. Therefore, the actions of the Sikhs who filed the cases against the Badal terrorist are Gurmat and are in support of the people of Punjab's best interest. If you want a proper representation of Punjab so future business deals do not get hindered, then speak to the Babas of Punjab to stop supporting the butcher and support a party that will help their followers out of suppression and depression economically.

  20. This problem has always been not about non practising sikhs but about the leniency shown by Sikhs in general to these events. Now if a sikh decides to marry a muslim thats fine but the ceremony cannot be performed in a gurdwara they should have a civil one because they are not practising sikhs, the difficulty comes with moneh who are not practising but i believe they can have their marriage in a gurdwara because they truly accept Guru ji as their father, whereas a muslim is just bowing for the sake of ritual. We need more gurdwara to instigate marraige counselling previous to a marriage and to make sure that both parties understand what is expected of them. We need to stop posting on these forums and get involved in our local gurdwara to make sure that they fully understand that these gurdwara are going to be run by us with sikh logical not some pindu money grabbing mentality. Another point: Rehat states quite clearly that a sikh should marry another sikh but it does not state about children being bought up practising sikhi, children should be given all the tools to DECIDE what religion if any they wish to follow we are not trying to indoctrinate our children to follow sikhi instead we are raising them in a sikh household and providing them information so they may CHOOSE for themselves. If we continue to try and play this numbers game our religion will suffer because of it (just look at how many problems the muslim community have)

  21. Then the business deals should start first at home. Give back Punjab it's rivers. He can sit at home and deals this out. Instead of Sukhbir Badal trafficking in drugs to Punjab he should be making business deals with Pakistan to stop his own trafficking criminal organization. The people that will get the jobs are not the people suffering if he makes any business deals with Canada. It will only strength his own criminal organization and get a great strong hold on major businesses in Punjab. Look what happened to the transport bus business. Look at what is happening to the milk industry in Punjab. There is more corruption today than there was decades ago. Badal is a dictator in Punjab. Try to open a business that is directly in competition with Badal. Nothing good can come from Badal coming to Canada. However Badal cancelling his trip shows to the Canadian politicians that he is most likely guilty and scared as to get arrested and convicted.

  22. Good point. I never thought of it from this angle. Speaking of Sukhbir. It's funny that he expects investors to invest in Punjab when he himself has invested millions of his own money outside in other countries instead of his own state. Personally I do not like Modi especially since what he is doing to Sikh farmers in Gujarat. But one must give him credit for making Gujarat the number 1 state in all of India. On the other hand, Punjab for many decades was number 1, but now it is behind others.

  23. That's not how you get darshan, although that is what astral travel involves. When meditating and doing simran, you should try to keep your focus on the gurmantar you are japping. The idea is to get rid of ALL thoughts and pictures coming into your head and just listen to your innerself saying the gurmantar. All that you should be seeing or trying to see is the divine light within. Astral is a very advanced stage where one can leave their body and travel anywhere. This can come when one can disassociate their consciousness from ego mind. However, as per gurmat, one should focus just on simran and gurmantar itself and not the associated abilities that can come with it.

  25. Daas is extremely disappointed by some of the posts on this forum in regards to attacks on Islam and our Muslim brothers and sisters. Even the prophet not been spared and despicable language has been used against them. To use foul language against another faith or our fellow brothers ad sisters is not right. The content on some of the posts seems to have come straight from biased right wing newspapers rather than Gursikhs. Even if a minority of Muslims are attacking our Sikh faith on other forums, still this does not give us the right to attack their faith in the same way, Two wrongs do not make a right. Satguru Mehar Karan.

  26. Khalsa Ji, The root causes of re-birth are: Kaam/ krodh/lobh/ moh/ ahankar. Once we break the attachment, then w e can be liberated. That's the theory; the practical is to remove such thoughts, and to focus entirely on Naam. Naam is within us, but it needs to be evoked(Amrit sanchar). The prescribed Rehat has to be adhered to; otherwise the meditated Naam is lost; like an elephant is given a wash, but immediately afterwards he rolls around in the mud. In ancient times, it as easier to focus on Naam; through physical rituals etc. in kalyug, only Naam is the solution; physical rituals are ineffective. Waheguru....

  28. Name calling! That's what they got him for. This is sad because now Hindus can claim that Dasam Bani is name calling their Gods. What did the 10th Master call Krishna? Anyone remember? That Bani has been copy and pasted on here at least 10 times for a matter of 2 years. Sri Guru Granth Sahib ji is mocking Krishna. I'm no fan of Inder Ghagha, but there seems to be more to this story that is not being told.

  31. There is a sakhi I heard of Guru Nanak Dev Ji. There were two neighbors and after working one of them would always go to the Gurdwara Sahib to meet Guru Nanak Dev Ji and the other one would go to wrong places. One day, the one that was going to the Gurdwara got a thorn stuck in his feet. The other one ended up finding golden coins. So the man went to Guru Ji and said that he always comes to hazoori and does path but he got a thorn stuck in his feet whereas his neighbor doesn't go to Guru Ji and he found golden coins, why so? Guru Ji said that according to the man's karm, he was supposed to have a worse health problem but because he does path and goes to gurdwara he only got a thorn stuck in his feet. The neighbor was supposed to be very very rich but because he doesn't do path or go to Gurdwara he ended up with only a few golden coins. I'm sorry if I made any mistakes I'm just restating the sakhi off of memory.
