  1. Most of us when talking of the union of the soul with its Creator, we do from our own level of consciousness. That is why we have so many opinions. Because we are not all on the same consciouss level. It is a different thing we are standing on the same earth. But spiritual achivement is a totally different thing. We talk of our union with Him, as children play games....some are friendly, others are mischievous, some can not see each other.... All different experiences mentioned above, are different achievements, of different beings in different envoirements, different backgrounds....some taking an escalator reach at the top of a high building, others with a helicopter go a little bit higher, others with a plane even trespass the clouds, some fewer with rockets reach the moon or maybe other farther planets even.... But the thing is, reaching Him, is not at all in oneĀ“s hands. No matter, even if one does His bandagee all the 24 hours, even for millions of years.... Our Bani very clearly says, only those wadbhagee jeevas reach Him, whom He chooses. So naturally if He chooses one to make him one with Himself, who can oppose resistance? Who can go against His will? It is not a question even of one wanting to love Him. It is all His "daat". Our union with Him, is only possible if He wants, and also not by any other method, but only if we board on the "Jahaaz of Nam". Different paths will take one to different destinations. But it is only by boarding the Jahaaz of Nam, that one will reach Him. This is the difference between Gurmat and other paths. But inspite of having the Bani in our favour, how many of us do we pay attention to what it says? How many of us do we follow the bhakti instructions in it? We are so busy with other outer aspects made and added by us, that we forget to even look at the Bani, to see that where our Guru Sahibans want draw our attention, is within us, not outside. Because it is only Nam, which takes you there.

  3. 11 April 2014 http://www.bbc.co.uk...-leeds-26990190 Bradford Sikhs' victory in meat plant battle A Sikh community in Bradford has won a legal battle to stop a meat processing plant being built next to a temple. Council planners approved proposals for the plant by food firm Pakeezah on Leeds Road in August. Worshippers at the nearby Guru Gobind Singh Gurdwara temple applied to the High Court to halt the plans as many of them are strict vegetarians. Bradford Council has now revoked planning permission after taking legal advice. Council leader David Green said: "We don't want to spent council tax payers money on legal action when we have been advised that we are unlikely to be successful. "I believe the planning committee made a valid decision under planning legislation, but I think it's a fact that not enough weight was given to other legal duties." 'Undermining worship' Lawyers acting for the Sikhs lodged an application for a judicial review in December. They said the proximity of the temple's kitchen to the proposed meat plant "undermined the sanctity of worship". Ranbir Singh, assistant president of the temple, said: "We don't eat meat. If the plant was near the Gurdwara, our [people] wouldn't like it. "We put pressure on the council and they changed their minds. David Green has helped us a lot." Supermarket chain Pakeezah was contacted but declined to comment. Previously, its operations manager Amjad Majid said the firm had not intended to "offend anyone".

  5. Badal is a protector of people who kill Sikhs. This is what he did during the 1978 clashes. Behind the scenes he was protective of the Narakdharis.

  6. Dear Balbir Singh Jee, Though the words play a very important role, but it is the meaning behind them, which counts more. As I said, when I chose the title of this thread, it was not because, I saw any Vaak as such, neither it was my intention. My intention was just to bring forth the Mahima, the greatness, of the Holy Trinity of the topic of this thread, which constitutes the only beauty and reality. As apart from them, all is "koorr". Just as, the liquid water, the vapour, and the ice, are different in aspects, but are the same in essence, so is Wahiguru, His Nam and His Gurmukhs..... So if the Vaak, the title, is of Sadhoo sang kee .... is mentioning a Sadhoo, a Gurmukh; is the Bani not talking of the same level of consciousness? Is that Sadhoo a ordinary human being of whom the Bani talks about? No. The Bani is talking about that Sadhoo, that Gurmukh, who is one with Wahiguru Akal Purukh. It is we people who use words or languages to express ourselves. Actually Wahiguru is a consciouss power, a highest level of consciousness.... Wahiguru by Himself is not a word in any language, but a reality beyond all perceptions... The Bani says: Nanak, Sadh, Prabh, bhed na bhaee. From Nam or Shabad, Wahiguru came out, and from Wahiguru, the Guru Sahibans, His Bhagats, His Sant Jan, came .... so in the end, is it not the same thing? Because again by His Nam or Shabad, they return back to Him, and merge in Him becoming Him, becoming that Nam or Shabad. They may appear to us, different, from different points of views, in different dimensions, but the power within them, is the same, which is of Nam or Shabad ...so in the end it is the same thing. Hope I have not complicated things, but believe me, such is the wonderous Bani of our Guru Sahibans. Waheguru Jee.

  7. Bhenji, I don't want to sound harsh, please forgive me, but why do we go to Gurdwara Sahib? Guruji's saroop is same in all Gurdwaras, so what difference does it make? Bhenji, even if you go to your local Gurdwara and do ardaas for healthy baby, He will listen. Hope you enjoy your trip to India. Consult your doctors first. Bhul Chuk Maaf ji Unfortunately, People only go there to ask for SONS.

  8. Thank you Harsharan000, I really respect the view of yourself and Sikhs, there are many similarities to what we believe, and this is indeed rare to find in the world. I am not hurt by your words, and thank you for your consideration when explaining such sentiments to me. It is a very honorable form of liberation when one is able to merge with the Effulgence of The Lord (White Light, Brahmajoyti, Pure Consciousness). And as another very nice Sikh gentleman mentioned in another topic post, there are a few recognized variations of liberation. One mentioned is that one is blessed with similar bodily features as The Lord (Narayana). We also recognize all of these various stages of liberation, so here we have common ground. I can only guess that they are all extremely blissful in their own beautiful way. I think one of the only minor differences (from reading over what you have mentioned as well as posts in other threads) is the feeling of which liberation is most preferable. It may seem absurd, but for the devotee of Sri Krishna there is no greater 'liberation' than to be constantly engaged in His devotional service. This means that although liberation from this material world is our original blissful state, we as devotees would rather be serving and remembering Him through our actions either here or anywhere else in the cosmic creation. That being said, this cosmic creation can also include the Spiritual world. So one may be blessed to continue with seva in the spiritual sky in direct association of The Lord in His bodily form. The devotee of Krishna does not strive for liberation, but rather strives for the deepest loving connection in service to The Supreme. Libration is simply a side effect of one engaging their life towards loving The Lord and providing an opportunity for other souls do to so too. We read in scriptures like Srimad Bhagavatam, that completely liberated souls (the yogi who is able to merge into the Supreme Effulgence at will) are still attracted to hearing the past times of The Lord. They relish the nectar of chanting His Holy Names (Hari Naam), and are often in states of transcendental ecstasy when remembering Him. For these reasons and many more, we chose to remember Krsna in all situations and circumstances (or at least TRY to). We offer our food to Him. We chant His Names throughout the day, and retell stories of His pastimes here. All of these things bring much satisfaction to the devotee. Thank you again for the wonderful conversation~ Hari Bol! Jaya Gauranga! ~Seva

  10. Sangat ji, as a teenager who is trying to do Naam Simran atleast 2 hours a day I am currently having a struggle in pondering that I don't benefit from it. I feel like I don't benefit from doing Naam Simran. I still will be doing Naam SImran of course because of how much our Bani emphasizes on chanting His Name. Does anyone have motivational stories that people have experienced during Naam SImran? Does it take many years to finally experience something from Naam Simran? Are people allowed to tell their own experiences or must keep it to themselves?

  13. Which pub is next to which gurdwara? sounds like your just having a dig for nothing. Yes there are many muslims in bradford, but there is also a large population of sikhs. In fact bradford has many chardi kala gursikhs, especially the naujwan. The problem with this meat plant issue is that it is has happened next to the wrong gurdwara..it is the largest gurdwara in bradford but has the most tillay committee members and least dharmic minded sangat attending.

If u think that keski is important, then wear it but *don't* criticize the ones who doesn't :D if one think that having long hair is important, then keep the hair long and respect it BUT don't criticize the ones who wear it and specially don't criticize any jathas for that.. (it's just what i hearing stuff on internet.. ) As to me.. As long as Sikh respect his/her hair and covers it all tha time.. everything is cool to me.. but singhnia in keskeee looks more cool...
