We should be giving 24 hours to God. There is nothing wrong with reading x amount of Gurbani everyday, it's a good thing. You always get a reward for reading Bani no matter how much you read. What everyone is saying is if person A did 1 hour of Naam Simran and one person B did 3 hours, it does not mean that person that did 3 hours received more reward. There is more to it, including how focused, how much pyar, one mindedness you read Gurbani with. We will never ever fully understand Gurbani, the more we understand , the more potentially we get closer to Guru Ji. Listen to Sant Jarnail Singh's katha, drugs were a huge problem back then as well. He got many many people into sikhi and to quit drugs without "appealing to the mainstream" , keeping everything Gurmat. Also its foolish to suggest drug problems because of 84.

Those are what are inspiring, accurate and would pull many more western youth than a music video trying to fit in with mainstream culture here.
