I don't understand one thing. I was in Punjab this year, and saw some Nihang Singhs with HUGE Dumallas. But isn't this risky? What if something happened, and you have to pull out out your Sri Sahib and fight, for yourself, or for someone else. If your wearing a Dumalla that big, you can't really move around very well. I think it will leave you vulnerable to attack, and helpless to protect someone. I know they don't wear them all the time, but still, something can go down ANYTIME, and we must be ready to always fight.

I think that the size that the original Babbars use to wear during the early 80's is a good size, it is light yet big. But the kind of dastar that the Nihang Singh is wearing on the top is a bit too big and heavy. It's not very practical in actual warfare. The Taksali Dastars are a bit too small, but they look nice. A good Taksali Dastar should be as large as the kind Sant Jarnail Singh jee use to wear (it looks so nice on him). IMHO, a Singh who wears a dastar that is too small just does not look ferocious and dangerous. The Sikhs from Delhi wear very small paghs, it makes them look weak.
