I have seen some incidents of biggest PAKANDHS in my childhood one such Pakandh was doing Shradh for GURU NANAK in Gurdwara and another is ladies and young girls performing fast and coming to gurdwara with thalis another pakandh was the Linking Rakhri with Guru Nanak and offering rakhris to GURU GRANTH SHAIAB but during those days noone dared to say anything about these Biparvads and anti Gurmat acts as even wives of office bearers of gurdwara used to keep fast.It is good sign now Singhs openly oppose these Pakands due to spread of information technology and due to this forums. This is my personal experience which Iam sharing with my brothers and sisters on this forum. May more such forums on line comes and creates awareness. Gurfateh to all my brothers and sisters as I have just recovered from dengue fever by blessings of my singh friends.

Fasting in itself is healthy and now thought to promote long life. There's nothing wrong with this. But it should be for yourselves and not for others. If the husbands want to live longer, they should be the ones fasting

Difficult thread to read due to the level of language used but I agree that it comes down to education. Rather than swearing and insulting others with hate, approach them with love. We should be educating others about these useless rituals. If their parents didn't educate them, we should all make it a point to do so.

I know some afghan sikhs and I see them putting bindis on the new born babies forhead and they go to the gurudwara like that! lots of them do this candle thing and they believe it will give them good luck or something. The candle in the middle represents god and you put candles around tht to represent your family members.. I dont get it. Some go to the mandir aswell, especially if someone has chickenpox they go and pray there and they think it helps!

so many sikhs are still selling those cards with Guru nanak dev ji and bibi nanaki tying rakhris on eachother and a plate of ladoos so many people are tying these threads and taking money. I told this guy that rakhri is not for sikhs and he is like ''OMG NO GURU NANAK DEV JI TOLD US 2 DO IT!!''
