having names like michael, peter john etc. if you are from a western background is not that bad but once you take amrit your name should come from the Guru Granth Sahib. Apne bandai who have these english names so they can "fit in" ar the biggest joke out there.

romanized means reading Bani in english its ok for starters but you should learn how to read gurmukhi, plus the pronounciation is very bad with those who read Bani in romanized and in some cases the meaning changes. We say in ardaas "Shudh spashat bani parn da bhal baksho" mean help us read Bani properly and purely.

To me again its fantasticism against the pictures and of Akal takhat to say that non-amritdhari cant do kirtan etc etc, what if they go home and recite bani or do kirtan, will god think of them differently if they did it at home or anywhere else besides the stage, is the bani any less? I mean mardana was with Guru Nanak Dev ji Maharaj too, he was reciting bani too and he was muslim, but Guru Sahib didnt think any less of him.

Gurbani, doesnt matter who reads it, its still Gurbani, you cannot change it. I am a person who thinks equal SHOULD mean equal. Anybody can do the seva, however he should have bathed etc and then sit on the thabia and at least show some respect.

Think of it this way: Will Gurbani CHANGE if a non sikh reads from it and the sangat listens to it?

THE ANSWER IS: NO!

Well then, whats all the fuss about?

do u mean seva in the gurudwara? becos to do seva of guru ji you have to be in rehit and i think that if you do not keep kesh and keep rehit then you should not be allowed, if you want to do seva of our maharaj the king of kings then you must put ur faith in him by taking amrit and keepin kesh and rehit. that would be more meaningful to the guru. whether muslim or not the sikh way of life is for everyone.

JUST LIKE TO SAY THAT THE WHOLE QUESTION DOES NOT APPLY...'SIKHISM' SOUNDS LIKE A RELIGION TO ME...SIKHI IS A WAY OF LIFE....BUT PUTTING IT INTO A CATEGORY FITS PERFECTLY INTO THE HANDS OF THOSE WE TRY TO PLEASE TODAY...WE DO NOT TRY TO PLEASE OUR GURU, BUT INSTEAD WE TRY PLEASING SOCIETY AND GOVERNMENTS....EVEN IF THEY ARE WRONG AND EVIL THEMSLEVES....WE HAVE TO PLEASE PEOPLE AS WE HAVE NO POWER, AND MOST IMPORTANT WE HAVE NO FAITH IN OUR GURU.

We have this problem where we look at thhe outer apperance and see it as greater than his purity on the inside. Sikhi was started to save the world and spread the word of truth. If we say that people that do not keep kesh or where a turban are not allowed to do seva this can actuualy drive them away. We have Granthi Singh, Kirtani's etc.. that were baana wear dastaar do seva of Guru Granth Sahib but they themshelves commit bujjer kurriets.

Is Guru Granth Sahib just the Gurus of people that keep kesh and have taken amrit? No
