just something that came to my mind

accoding to what you say, if you get naam from gurbani, then doesn't that make gurbani bigger than naam? :(

baba kartar singh jee is known to have always said that gurbani and naam are one n the same

gurbani has come from naam and through this connection, naam can be >>rachaaed<< from bani hence the amrit sunchar.

before dhan guru granth sahib got rachaaed by our immortal gurus, bani was like akaal. it has no form. then through becomming drenched/imbiewed in naam our gurus found a way through the hukam of god to rachaa bani. this is why bani has come from 'dhur'. and the only way to get to dhur (''up there'') is.......??.....>>> to jup naam!become >bhijjed< or drenched in the amrit-naam of god.

so in bani is naam. we read the nitnem and prepare amrit inside ourselves every day hence 'nit'-nem. and we do naam along side bani aswell.

this all together helps us to get to god. hence also why, that they can be seen to go hand in hand.

one last thing... all bani points to one thing. naam.

on every single ang of dhan guru maharaaj, there is the word > ਨਾਮ < there.

dhan dhan so nara, jin har naam ridai dhiaaavae.. (p.s. this line is not gurbani.. jus made it up...)
