What I Think Should Be Done

We need to take some hard steps. This is what i posted in the other thread which is closed:

We need to stop using their businesses and their other services .....i had stopped using their buisness services an year ago, we simply don't need to fund them in any wayand make them stronger financially so that same money ca be used for our destruction. My family (khalsa panth) and my sisters (sikh girls) are dearer to me rather than these so called friends who donate money to 'eliminate kuffar' by any means. Do u have idea how dawah centres get money????

Our youth should stay in our circle....even in universities and localities. We should stop socialising with them, don't hate them coz it's against gurmat, but that doesn't mean make friends with them, just ignore them. Socialising with them is plainly making ourself available to these ppl and inviting them to try on ourselves ( i m speaking frm my personal experiences)

Trust and respect our people who have concerns and not make it a habit cricticise them. Back them up instead, address them if they are wrong somewhere rather than discarding them as extremists or fanatics. Remember only these extremists or fanatics rise up to the occasion and stop beadbis.

Infuse sikhi spirit in ourselves and not asian or indian pride. This is where we get back stabbed. Muslims like to be our panjabi brothers and exploit us and hindus do the same by being our hindustani brothers. We are race apart from others. And for god sake stop calling ourselves indians, our target is khalistan. Boycott filthy bollywood and idiotic punjabi music......they simply corrupt our youth. Boycott these gigs, club culture etc this is where our girls are targetted. Our youth should pull fellow youth towards sikhi and gurdwaras. We need to boycott following bipran ki reet ourselves in all small and big forms . This is why we become weak.

We need to do GARAM PARCHAAR. We need to be brave, outspoken and clear in our views. We don't need to say indirectly like cowards "some religious fanatics target our youth" we need to name them openly in congregations and say "muslim fanatics target our youth, and we won't tolerate this rubbish" and we gotto make statement loud and clear and answer fire with fire. We need to make a national organisation of singhs and singhnis specially for this purpose so that harrassed girls have someone to turn to rather than surrender to these fanatics in hopelessness and we need to throw a challenge "u dare harrass our girls and get ready to face the music". We need to take a tough stance....things have gone quite far now. Remember !!!!!! If we don't stop it it's NEVER gonna stop.The choice is ours.

If you go in to one of their shops they also have a collecetion box whcih is called "chandar" this goes towards institutions who fund there boys for converting girls.

Almost all their shops have charity boxes....and all these boxes are for help in kasmir, palestine, dawah support or other islamic causes. Even they get huge donations for their purposes from govts of saudi arad, iran, syria and other arabic world. We run to help people in tsunami, pakistan earthquake etc whereas our new delhi affected widow sisters are reduced to beggars in front of hindustani govt.....why can't we support them instead of leaving them to beg infront of bramans ?? why cant we donate to other shaheed families of our movement who had fought to keep up sikh pride and traditions? why can't we donate money for having our media?

Donating money for other world issues is no wrong but we should realise the whole world is supporting them and on other hand whole world is neglecting our sisters. We just jump in the bandawagon rather than having a genuine concern.

thankyou all for your comments. I have begun work on a small booklet to hand out at gurdwaras to help educate the youth. I am currently trying to write how sikhism is unique and differs from hinduism and islam. I think this section is very important. I was wondering if anybody has any essays/articles on this, which i could use to help write this section?

In my view the real issue is that as a Kaum we have allowed the acceptance of Sikh maryada to become established as a ritualistic act by our very own community and we must now take responsibility and reform our practices.

I see no difference to bramhanical practices of the old days to practices carried out by our own community today. Sikhi by the majority is seen as a set routine of ritualistic acts such as Akhand Paths, Sehaj Paths and Anand Karajs performed for money by Granthis. This is in direct contradiction to the implementation of a Sikhi Jeevan (lifestyle) which encourages the individual to live, breathe and feel Sikhi.

Until we get our own house in order, we will remain tormented by beadbi, abuse of our maryada and attacks by both our own community and the external communities. Entrance and representation into the direct running of Gurdwaras is essential in order to move forward, it’s long term but will be the only way to eradicate malpractices within Sikhi and strengthen our current representation of ourselves. Setting up Jathas, misals, Campaigns etc, producing literature/parchaar is all good and well, but without having a solid active presence within Guru Ghars we will struggle to wash out the corruption and boost the morale of the Panth!

Sikhism is unique. It doesnt need a critique with other religions. Who can you compare Guru Granth Sahib Ji to??

I would totally agree, but we are so stuck with the committee people, until this is sorted out what can we do. They are sat on their "kursies" and have super-glued themselves in. There seems to be so much infighting that we are not tackling the real issues.

Also, I think that every Gurdwara should appoint a Sewadharni (female) and she should have a small office of her own and any person especially young bibia who have any concerns should be able to voice their concerns - about themselves of about their friends - and then maybe a team of three members (1M 2F or 2F 1M) should follow up the concerns to go meet the person in question. We lack a support system, we need to be proactive rather then run around like headless chickens once the damgae has been done.

This needs to be Gurdwara led, it is too difficult for individuals.

Even if many of the females of the sangat have an issue they wouldnt want to go and talk about it with any members of the gurdwara because they they mite not fil right saying it to a man this is the reason why gurdwara should have remale members to support the bibia of the sangat.

These things can only happen if people like you and me implement them ourselves. The only way to carry that out is to take active control of the running of Gurdwaras through participation and involvement within committees. It is a difficult, if not near impossible, to change views of the current generation of Committees. Adding pressure as an external groups/campaigns etc in many cases just leads to arguments, confrontations and resistance which does not always give the desired outcomes.
