8.4 Million Species - How Many Years

Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh

Just out of interest, does anyone know of any way, how to work out how many years the cylce of 8.4 million incarnations would take on average. This has to include only one human life; one of all of the species to get an average general picture. I think its an interesting subject and maybe a scientist and mathmatician could develop a formula taking the different sets of species working out average life spans and then adding them etc.

If anyone can help add any ideas about how to go about it, that would be great.

This shabad makes it pretty clear just how vast the potential time scale would be. It would also differ a lot between souls. E.g. an ant can live for up to seven years. Or it can be squished by a human on day one of wandering out of its home. Or, if it's a queen ant it can live about 25 years. In the above shabad it mentions rocks and mountains. What is the 'life'span of a mountain?

You're right it would be very interesting, mind-boggling and awe-inspiring to see an average figure, but Gurbani also says many people spend lots and lots of time trying to come up with things like scientific formulae to estimate the greatness of God and creation. However at the end of the day nobody can ever truly describe Akaal Purakh and his play, and their lives pass by in this way.

Good Answer.

At the end of the day, have we really got time to be working stuff out like that, not much point, we know we are lucky to be here, and must have been through many life form to get to the human form. So lets take advantage of this, dont waste time, and fulfil our purpose for being here.

:gg: i got a couple questions if someone could answer them for me id be really grateful :)

1.Did we go through 8.4 life forms to get this human body? Or did we actually start out as humans and because of our bad karams we were reborn?

2.If we dont merge with waheguru do we go through the whole 8.4million again or does it depend?
