Also at the end of the day its your genetic make-up that accounts a lot for your physical potential and size is not everything! Guru Gobind Singh ji was of moderate height and slight build, but his skill as a swordsman/archer/horseman was the key to his success on the battlefield. Whereas Baba Deep Singh was a goliath of a man whose shear strength tore down the ranks of the dusht. Different types and abilities, but to the same effect, if you see what I'm getting at.

That paragraph is false. Contrary to "modern science" Your consciousness is actually what controls genetics. Don't let fall into the prison of believing your genetics control you and that you are your genetics, its simply not true, you have the power to change your body. And the size of Guru Gobind Singh ji and Baba deep singh ji has got nothing to do with strength. Their muscle fibres were of a different sort to normal men. Strongest in the world were they. More size doesn't mean more strength. Its the inside that counts. Conquer your mind, Conquer the world!

Good solid advice by JangalDa!

but dont work urself so much that ur so tired next day. thats y i dont do weight trainig no more jst use body weight ie press ups and stuff.
Actually, you know when during exercise you get to a point where you don't think you can't go on anymore? If you push yourself to do more from that situation, that's when your body really gets built. This is what elite athletes do!
i put on 2 pounds a week.
Enjoy what is known as the "honeymoon" phase of training :) This won't last long, unless you are genetic freak lol

What you are doing will work just fine for average person, they will see gains in strength, endurance and muscle mass. But if one wants to be really strong, more needs to be done.

sorry singh i knw abotu all that, i aint meaning to diss ur way of trainig or nything. but i jst ment that it depends on ur body type. im one of those realy slim ppl but v v toned but wana put on weight. nd i aint sure what it is but after daas does weights his mind is calm for abit but after that it works over time the next day or 2. which isnt nice for my bhagti, because no dhiaan no raas!!! thats y i dont do weight training jst keep nice healthy calm routine. daas makes an effort to keep an excercise routine that helps his bhakti because that is the key to life. but again this is jst for me. every body is different sum ppl NEED to do weights and that because that is wats good for their bhagti.

nyway ppl jst keep rehit and do whats best for ur bhagti. i have seen many big ppl who are like mice from inside because of maya. so being big aint everything. daas is 5 ft 10 ish and at time daas weighed only 8 stone 9 pounds. but i tooke on sum1 who was around 6 ft 4 and v v v big. think he musta been mayb 15 stone?

nyway do bhagti nything that helps ur dhiaan do nything that dont miss out take time and xperment

bhul chuk maaf

paapi jee daas is at ur charan

What?!!! Do you have ANY research to point to this? Maybe you just had cheap quality protein...

In any case, you only need protein pre and post workout, other times you can have daal which is loaded with protein. Since the OP is skinny, he does not have to worry about having too much carbs :)

It's amazing how much misinformation about health and fitness is out there :umm:

    • I agree we're not born with sin like the Christians think. Also I agree we have effects of karma. But Gurbani does state that the body contains both sin and charity (goodness): ਕਾਇਆ ਅੰਦਰਿ ਪਾਪੁ ਪੁੰਨੁ ਦੁਇ ਭਾਈ ॥ Within the body are the two brothers sin and virtue. p126 Actually, we do need to be saved. Gurbani calls this "udhaar" (uplift). Without Satguru, souls are liable to spiritual death: ਜਿਨਾ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਪੁਰਖੁ ਨ ਭੇਟਿਓ ਸੇ ਭਾਗਹੀਣ ਵਸਿ ਕਾਲ ॥ p40 Those who have not met Satguru Purakh are unfortunate and liable to death. So, yeah, we do need to be saved, and Guru ji does the saving. The reason Satguru is the one to save is because God has given Satguru the "key" (kunji): ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਹਥਿ ਕੁੰਜੀ ਹੋਰਤੁ ਦਰੁ ਖੁਲੈ ਨਾਹੀ ਗੁਰੁ ਪੂਰੈ ਭਾਗਿ ਮਿਲਾਵਣਿਆ ॥੭॥ In the True Guru's hand is the key. None else can open the door. By perfect good fortune the Guru is met. p124
    • That's unfortunate to hear. Could you give any more information? Who was this "baba"? He just disappeared with people's money? Obviously, you should donate your money to known institutions or poor people that you can verify the need of through friends and family in Punjab.
    • Sangat ji,  I know a family who went Sevewal to do seva sometimes end of 2019. They returned last year in great dismay and heart broken.  To repent for their mistakes they approached panj pyaare. The Panj gave them their punishment / order to how t make it up which, with Kirpa, they fulfilled.  They were listening to a fake Baba who, in the end, took all the "Donations " and fled sometime over a year ago. For nearly 4 years this family (who are great Gursikhs once u get to know them) wasted time and effort for this fake Baba. NOT ONLY this one fam. But many, many did worldwide and they took their fam to do seva, in village Sevewal, city Jaitho in Punjab. In the end many families lost money in thousands being behind this Baba. The family, on return, had to get in touch with all the participants and told them to stop.  I am stating this here to create awareness and we need to learn from whom we follow and believe. It's no easy but if we follow the 3 S (Sangat, Simran and Seva) we will be shown the light. As I am writing this the family in question have been doing the same since 2008 onwards and they fell for this Baba... it is unbelievable and shocking.  This am writing in a nutshell as am at work on my break so not lengthy but it deserves a great length.  Especially the family in question, who shed light on youngsters about Sikhi 20 plus years!!
    • Giani Kulwant Singh Jawaddi Kalan uses simple Punjabi.
    • Leaving aside Guru ji, the general question of taking afeem (opium) in limited quantities for war/medical wounds is simply unproblematic. When you go to the hospital, they give you morphine. What do you think morphine is? It's an opiate. Even codeine (cough syrup) is an opiate! Ever had a cough? Granted, it is against Gurmat to take opium or other drugs for the fun of it.
