It is a mistake to link these two issues. Darshan lal is doing his usual bukwas and his statements are aimed at defaming dasam granth.

His statements are a bunch of lies, fabrication and are not true at all.

This shows he has not read dasam granth. Equal ignorant is the writer of the article who is publicising his statement without any knowledge of reality.

He's mostly doing bakwaas against Charitropakhyan, but it is one bani that has deep metaphors and is certainly not meant to be read like we take random shabads from Dhan Dri Guru Granth Sahib Ji Maharaj. Quoting verses from Charitars and labelling them as obscene or whatever is most unfortunate, its just like picking a single tukk with words like 'kaam' or 'bindh' or 'bhog' and then saying, well you know..

I would humbly request EVERYONE who is fluent with Gurmukhi to please read Dr. Habhajan Singh Ji's book on Sri Dasam Granth Sahib Ji. Guruji has also taken seva of translating the relevant sections from this moorakh, although they are not publish quality translations, i think one can still get the gist of real meanings and purposes behind writing the Charitars. Either way, we need to educate ourselves, dont listen to his bakwaas.

The stories in these Charitars are not sexually provocative; On the contrary, they provide awareness of the social pain, criminal mentality, and exploitation of women that results from intense lust. The wealthy and ruling factions of society have been ridiculed by portraying the sorry state that emerges from their indulgence in lustful actions. The capitalistic mentality in which the only aim of earning and storing money has been shown to have adverse effect on the family network. Those who wear religious attire and pretend to be great renuniciators have been shown to be worse than a family man; they abandon their own houses and wish for others' wealth and bodies. People who believe in black magic and Tantra shastra have been portrayed rightly as sexually obsessed and of criminal tendencies. Incompatible marriages (aged man marrying young woman, ugly person getting married to beautiful, pleasant woman, a fool with clever woman, a poor man with materialistically ambitious wife) have been shown to bring about devastating consequences. The young widows who find it difficult to remarry have been shown to stray away towards wrongdoings. Conversely, a man marrying multiple women has been shown to develop bad character. And anyone who gives his secret to a nymph has been shown to be completely ruined. The unholy and unbreakable alliance of drugs and sex is told and most importantly, the male society has been held squarely responsible for the birth of immoralities in women. It is almost impossible to find any other such superb literary composition that has provided eloquent and minute disquisition of the psychology of sexually obsessed people the way these Charitars have.

Waheguru Ji, if Guruji wants to take the seva, i will never say no. Charitropakhayan section is almost complete now, with blessings of Guruji and gurmukhs like yourself, i should be able to start working on the next sections pretty soon.

Charitropakhayan is a thrid person narration wherein a Minister recites stories to his king.

Pakhayan means stories that have been stated earlier. Strories are being told for imparting a morla lesson.

Uneducated persons like darshan lal are not able to understand this as he is blind to literary value of this section.He is concocting his own versions and his intent is to malign Dasam Granth by lies.

Is it possible to know email of the writer of article. Noramlly they leave their email for comments. Strangely this desi writer raveen aulakh is not doing that.We should email her that wht she is writing after hearing from Darhsn lal is not correct.

This type of parchaar has been going on local media for years. Now the b@stard is showing his true colors. Next time Sikhs wont be asked for importance of hair. The difficult questions posed to which an ordinary Sikhs has no knowledge will create BIG doubts. And that is the objective. To destroy the faith. It had long ago become apparent that sikhs cannot be hurt from outside.

This Raveena Aulakh is utterly ignorant.

She clearly has no understanding of the issues she is writing of and unfortunately a lot of Sikhs, who are also somewhat ignorant of the issue, will also be swayed by such articles.

We need to step up and get the TRUTH out to all Sikhs in a clear and succinct manner. It's time we also use the media. Is this article only published online? Is it in print as well?

Perhaps some members of the Canadian sangat can go ahead and write a letter to 'The Star' as editorial feedback. Similarly, we can all post comments on article online.

regardless, he is defaming it with effective cunning trickery isn't he? How is the non-sikh Canadian/world public will ever get to hear or know the Panth's side of the story?

Pro-DG camp usually ends up THINKING with their emotions...while Lala Darshan Lal THINKS with his brain on how to attack Sri DG.

the problem is, will those who will be reading that article ever know the true story about it?

The worst part is the bad seed of misunderstanding he is planting in minds of the non-sikh public.

PJS, is the only singh I have seen on this phorum working with wisdom in trying to EDUCATE the users on Sri DG...which is more effective.... others are just busy cursing and politicking regarding this issue, which is counter productive.keep it goin singh
