Homosexuality is neither wrong or immoral, but by becoming Sikhs we give up ourselves to the Guru and strive to follow a GurSikhi jeevan. I think part of that may be to give up our orientation and marry a person of the opposite sex with the goal to meet Waheguru.

It is not wrong or evil, but being a Sikh, i don't think should follow it. I think Sri Akaal Takht Sahib may shed more light onto the issue than me though.

If i found out someone i knew very well was homosexual i wouldnt view them any more or less nor would i vote to ban gay marriage. As for an issue of Gurmat, that is different.

I'm add one thing.

One mistake that heterosexual marriage couples make after the Anand Karaj is they believe Guru Sahib has given them the right to indulge in kaam. Due to this mistake, then the homosexuals say why can't I do the same. And those that are advocates of homosexuality say the samething to support homosexuality. The heterosexual couple act as if now they can do whatever they want. This is not true. Satguru says where the mind has the presence of Kaam, there is no Naam (rememberance of Sri Waheguru ji Maharaj) in that mind. Satguru has never in Gurbani given any sexual orientation the righ to indulge in kaam. Satguru gave us the right to procreate. If you are focused on Sri Waheguru ji then kaam will not enter your mind and their is no need to have this discussion of homosexuality. Sikhs are above all these worldly ways.

Homosexuality and heterosexuality and rest of the sexual orientations get in the way of remembering Sri Waheguru ji. The Gurus knew, once people start devoting themselves toward Gurbani, then they will automatically focus on the Guru's way. But look at what Sikhnet is up too. They have drifted a billion miles away from Guru's path in all sense because they entered into promoting sexual orientations.

I don't understand how Sri Akal Takht could have based its view on Gurmat, since Guru Sahib says nothing about homosexuality. In my world, homosexuals have the right to marry and live just as anybody else. Sexual orientation is totally irrelevant if we view the marriage as a linkage between two souls. Gays and lesbians just happen to feel harmony with the people of the same sex. If Vaaheguroo made some people feel attracted to the opposite gender, and some people attracted to the same gender, then who are we to say what is right or wrong?

Homosexual can change their orientation just as much as you can change yours. It's ridiculous and hurtful to suggest something like that. A lot of youths commit suicides failing to change their orientation and filling the sexual norms set out by their religion or community. Also, i wouldn't like to get married to a man who's gay but pretends to be heterosexual because he wants live gursikhi jeevan according to the rulings of Sri Akal Takht.

According to Panj Piare, who are the Roop of Guru Gobind Singh Jee, a marriage, Anand Karaj, can ONLY happen between a man and a woman. When you shak Amrit Panj Piare tell you that you are only allowed to share jooth with another Amritdhari. A psychical relationship between 2 people is sharing jooth, how is 2 men or 2 women going to live a life according to Sikhi when they can't get married according to Sikhi or live a life according to Gurmat?

Harsimran Kaur jee and others on here that advocate gay anand karaj. You base your arguments that some people are born with such feelings and that they have the right to be with each other in marrigae and union. You argue that it is not against Gurmat and that the Akal Thakhat should have no say in the matter...........I understand that people have same sex feelings but it is absolutely against Gurmat. Again and again in Gurbani Maharaj warns us about Kaam. This applies to eveyone.

I have been in Law Enforcement for the past 10 years. i have come across countless cases where fathers claim that they love their daughters. They partake in sexual activity with their children. These adults claim that they were born this way that they have always been attracted to young children. Is this right or wrong. Is this Gurmat or not. Peadophiles argue that they cannot change....they were born that way. Do they then have the right to marry their children. If this does not clear things then what about in cases where a brother and sister enter into a intimate relationship. They argue that they have always felt that way about each other. Are they allowed to get married too?

People who go on about the fact that Homosexuality is not mentioned by Guru Sahib have not either read Guru Granth Sahib Ji or have a warped view of nature. Gurbani is an essence, Gurbani warns us against Kaam, homosexuality is Kaam, paedophillia is Kaam, incest is Kaam. Gurmat is about male and female marriage. The purpose is procreation that is it.

I have no problem with people having such feelings and living their lives as they choose but please do not try to twist Gurbani and Sikhi to fit and justify these lifestyle choices because if you agree that there is nothing wrong with homosexuality then what do you say about the paedophiles and incestors? They were also born this way right?

Like I said prior I got my answer why in sikhi homosexuality is wrong. I.e. Kaam.

But to compare homosexuality with incest and paedophilies is WRONG. Homesexual relationships are amongst adults who both consent. Peados force themselves on kids who have no say in the matter. Also incest is wrong hetro or homo.

They may or not be born this way I don't know but paedophiles dont actually have the consent of the kid do they? Whereas gay/lesbians do have consent. Being in law enforcement you should know there is a clear difference.

Sex should only be for procreation, I want to publicly apologise on this forum. I hang my head in shame as, I've even done it without even thinking about trying for another child. Yes I agree Kaam is evil and a bad virture to have if you think about all the time or about others who are not your wife / partner etc. The point I want to make is surely if your in a loving relationship with your wife you can sometimes do it. It doesnt always have to be for procreation does it? I mean humans indulge in various pleasures and some could argue s e x is a natural human urge, which you need to satisfy, as if you dont it would just be on your mind and you would have truley secummed to kaam.

Yes, Sex is natural, Lust, Ego, Attachment and Anger are all natural instincts of human beings. They are Maya. A screen put forward by waheguru to sepaerate the Godly from the ungodly. These evil instincts are very hard to overcome which is why only a few enjoy that blissful union with waheguru. For you to claim a little lustful pleasure with your wife is ok in the eyes of god because its natural tells me only one thing..your a man who loves the Maya, the illusion more than he loves the ultimate reality which is waheguru. Using your logic is it alright to be angry , be attached to material things, be egotistical. No!! Why?
