Not all gifts are accepted by Satguru and Satguru's sangat. Take the example of Satguru Sri Guru Nanak Dev ji Maharaj. He was invited to a rich person house to eat and also invited to a poor person house to eat. He went to the poor person house and ate. The rich person decided to question Satguru on why he didn't come. Satguru showed the rich person that his gift of a lavish meal was earned the wrong way. So Satguru rejected his gift. The poor mans gift was accepted because he earned it in the way of Gurmat.

The same apply's to this painted piece. The person might have done it from the good of his heart, like the rich person, but his perception in the picture shows, he did not follow Gurmat. This goes back to the teaching of rehat maryada is more dear to Satguru than the Sikh. Gurmat is always held higher than anything to Satguru.

IF you listen to the sakhi, then its clear what is acceptable. But i guess members like you are too focused on attacking me here. Applying gold to Harmindar Sahib is not gurmat? What's so wrong about it?

Sikhs don't worship the Virgin Mary. The Khanda represents the life style of a Saintsoldier and walking down the fine path of Gurmat. Did the virgin Mary teach this to humanity? Our Ardas starts with Sri Waheguru ji Maharaj. Satguru Sri Guru Gobind Singh Sahib ji Maharaj has made it very clear in ardas. The Guru's names come after the remembers of Sri Waheguru ji Maharaj. In this picture with the virgin mary in the middle this shows she is the creator, preserver, and destroyer. Which is not true according to Gurmat. A proper representation of Gurmat would be with Satguru Sri Guru Nanak Dev ji Maharaj in the middle holding the Khanda in hand.

If someone had painted Durga or Chandi or Sri Bhaguati in the middle, then all hell would have broken open and you would be slandering it. But since its done by a white person and the 3HO have accepted it. You accept it. You're not being objective at all. But hold a biased view for the 3HO cult.
