Its quite hard wearing a chunni, unless the material is sittable on my head and bit thick like chatanga says, i sometimes seem to spend more time trying to organise my chunni rather than concentrate on baani. I would like to ask, if one is not amritdhari, then are they able t wear a patka then put the chunni on top, or is that only allowed for amritdharis?

not sure what you are saying,I don't know the SikhI language yet :-) but maybe something that could help is when I am wearing my hijab loose over my shoulders I usually wrap a thin scarf around my hair because my hair is so soft that the longer scarf ALWAYS falls of, but if it can grip onto a rougher surface, it stays easier, and you can mix and match colors for a cute style too :-)
