Yes and why not doesn't make me any less of sikh. My guru is the shabad and my guru doesn't care if I keep my hair or not. He loves me unconditionally and for that i am his. :respect:

Rom doesn't mean hair that's a common mistake people make they take rom to mean hair. Dalbir singh provided a good definition of what rom meant earlier in another post.

Gurmukẖ rom rom har ḏẖi▫āvai.

The Gurmukh meditates on the Lord with every hair of his body.

ਨਿਰਹਾਰੀ ਕੇਸਵ ਨਿਰਵੈਰਾ ॥

निरहारी केसव निरवैरा ॥

Nirhārī kesav nirvairā.

He does not need to eat; His Hair is Wondrous and Beautiful; He is free of hate.

ਸਿਰੁ ਖੋਹਾਇ ਪੀਅਹਿ ਮਲਵਾਣੀ ਜੂਠਾ ਮੰਗਿ ਮੰਗਿ ਖਾਹੀ ॥

सिरु खोहाइ पीअहि मलवाणी जूठा मंगि मंगि खाही ॥

Sir kẖohā▫e pī▫ah malvāṇī jūṯẖā mang mang kẖāhī.

They pluck the hair out of their heads, and drink in filthy water; they beg endlessly and eat the garbage which others have thrown away.

ਭੇਡਾ ਵਾਗੀ ਸਿਰੁ ਖੋਹਾਇਨਿ ਭਰੀਅਨਿ ਹਥ ਸੁਆਹੀ ॥

भेडा वागी सिरु खोहाइनि भरीअनि हथ सुआही ॥

Bẖedā vāgī sir kẖohā▫in bẖarī▫an hath su▫āhī.

Their hands are smeared with ashes, and the hair on their heads is plucked out-they are like sheep!

The Creator Lord Himself stood between us,

ਵਾਲੁ ਨ ਵਿੰਗਾ ਹੋਆ ॥

वालु न विंगा होआ ॥

vāl na vingā ho▫ā.

and not a hair upon my head was touched.

अंते सतिगुरु बोलिआ मै पिछै कीरतनु करिअहु निरबाणु जीउ ॥

Anṯe saṯgur boli▫ā mai picẖẖai kīrṯan kari▫ahu nirbāṇ jī▫o.

Finally, the True Guru said, "When I am gone, sing Kirtan in Praise of the Lord, in Nirvaanaa".

Call in the long-haired scholarly Saints of the Lord, to read the sermon of the Lord, Har, Har.

ਹਰਿ ਕਥਾ ਪੜੀਐ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਸੁਣੀਐ ਬੇਬਾਣੁ ਹਰਿ ਰੰਗੁ ਗੁਰ ਭਾਵਏ ॥

हरि कथा पड़ीऐ हरि नामु सुणीऐ बेबाणु हरि रंगु गुर भावए ॥

Har kathā paṛī▫ai har nām suṇī▫ai bebāṇ har rang gur bẖāv▫e.

Read the sermon of the Lord, and listen to the Lord's Name; the Guru is pleased with love for the Lord.

ਪਿੰਡੁ ਪਤਲਿ ਕਿਰਿਆ ਦੀਵਾ ਫੁਲ ਹਰਿ ਸਰਿ ਪਾਵਏ ॥

पिंडु पतलि किरिआ दीवा फुल हरि सरि पावए ॥

Pind paṯal kiri▫ā ḏīvā ful har sar pāv▫e.

Do not bother with offering rice-balls on leaves, lighting lamps, and other rituals like floating the body out on the Ganges; instead, let my remains be given up to the Lord's Pool.

ਹਰਿ ਭਾਇਆ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਬੋਲਿਆ ਹਰਿ ਮਿਲਿਆ ਪੁਰਖੁ ਸੁਜਾਣੁ ਜੀਉ ॥

हरि भाइआ सतिगुरु बोलिआ हरि मिलिआ पुरखु सुजाणु जीउ ॥

Har bẖā▫i▫ā saṯgur boli▫ā har mili▫ā purakẖ sujāṇ jī▫o.

The Lord was pleased as the True Guru spoke; he was blended then with the all-knowing Primal Lord God.

ਰਾਮਦਾਸ ਸੋਢੀ ਤਿਲਕੁ ਦੀਆ ਗੁਰ ਸਬਦੁ ਸਚੁ ਨੀਸਾਣੁ ਜੀਉ ॥੫॥

रामदास सोढी तिलकु दीआ गुर सबदु सचु नीसाणु जीउ ॥५॥

Rāmḏās sodẖī ṯilak ḏī▫ā gur sabaḏ sacẖ nīsāṇ jī▫o. ||5||

The Guru then blessed the Sodhi Ram Das with the ceremonial tilak mark, the insignia of the True Word of the Shabad. ||5||

This doesn't say not to cut your hair the above shows with god's protection not even hair can be touched. Meaning that you are protected if he wills. Please provide the whole shabads in GGS as single liners can be taken out of context.
