Solutions To The Problem Of Interfaith Marriage

Recommended Posts

Say that if they want to get anand karaj he has to convert. Other than that, there's nothing much I can really do. I mean, she's engaged, and presumable a grown woman, so I can't really stop the marriage. I can just make sure they don't disrespect the guru.

A solution to these types of marriages are to teach the children about sikhi. But if the parents are dumb then how can they teach their kids about sikhi? Until the parents know about sikhi these type of marriages will continue to happen.

A hypothetical scenario

You are upset because you just learned that your daughter is engaged to a non-Sikh man. What solutions would you undertake to unsure your daughter's fiance embraces Sikhism.

Turn ur back on her/him just as she did the guru.

The harder nonnegotiable line works better then "oh my kids don't listen to me so I'll disrespect all those sacrifices made to get me where I am and let my daughter/son sell out"

question and let me tell you why.

First of all you give your thread a title that suggess the current problem doing the rounds in the media is because we have an aversion to 'our girls marrying white and black men'. Our intellectuals have spent the past week trying to teach our enemies, and the media who get their stories from our enemies, that they have got it wrong, i.e we are not racists. Our issue and argument is purely that such marriages must take place in a Registry Office and not in a place of worship where sacred vows are made in front of our living Guru, i.e the lie and sham that both bride and groom are Sikhs.

But tell me, how the hell we gonna get our point across to the media when people like you within don't even understand the issue ? :surrender:

I Mean seriously, just what kind of a no-brain dufus are you 'sikhingthertruth' that made you make a thread like this ? You look at 4 days worth of threads and messages on this forum explaining the Sikh stance on this issue and yet on the 5th you still decide to go down this route ? The mind boggles as to what it would take to make you understand a simple point.

most worrying when people on this forum do not understand what the discussion is. IT IS NOT THE FACT THAT SIKH BOYS/GIRLS ARE MARRYING PARTNERS FROM OTHER FAITHS. IT IS ABOUT NOT CARRYING OUT BEADBI OF THE SUCH IN FROM OF GURU MAHARAJ. THERE IS ANOTHER PERSON ON ANOTHER TOPIC ON THIS SITE WHO DOES NOT UNDERSTAND EITHER. READ AND YOU WILL SEE.

In terms of a possible solution to the wider issue ...

a possible idea that the Panth should look into possibly is:

1. Anand Karaj being reserved for Amritdhari Sikhs

2. A Sikh Marriage Blessing Ceremony for all Kesdhari, Sehajdhari and those marriages where a former non-Sikh spouse is not becoming Amritdhari. We should still strive to ensure education about Sikhi for such couples to realise the importance of raising their children as Sikhs so that we can do greater good for humanity via Sarbat da Bhala.

Simply blocking all those non-Amritdhari's that wish for their marriage to be blessed at a Gurdwara is a recipe for disaster that will simply alienate them and their children away from Sikhi permanently leading to the guaranteed demographic decline of Diaspora Sikh populations.

Why do you have 'aversion' towards your girls marrying white or black men but not torwards boys doing the same thing? This is very unfair and biased way to react to this situation. Who are your 'enemies' your intellectuals have been trying to teach? You are confusing. If a sikh boy or girl decides to marry outside of their religion or race then they should be told in perspicuous terms that they will not be allowed to have a anand karaj at their local sikh gurdwara because of the edict. They should marry at the RO to prevent the mockery of sham vows in front of the sikh living Guru. There is nothing wrong in making them do this ie marrying at the RO.

Don't worry there are plenty more 'dufus' thinking this way in this community and try explaining this to them, it is a joke.

What ????? :blink2:

Why on earth did you address that post to me ?

Why do you have 'aversion' towards your girls marrying white or black men...

I don't. Learn to read. What I did was to tell the OP that this thread and it's silly subject matter will reinforce our enemies' wrong belief that we have aversion towards our girls marrying black and white men.

Why do you have 'aversion' towards your girls marrying white or black men but not torwards boys doing the same thing?

I don't. Why would I ? I'm a Sikh and Sikhs have complete and utter gender equality. Like I said before, learn to read and understand simple things in the English language before posting.

This is very unfair and biased way to react to this situation

The only place anyone has reacted to this situation in this way is in your own mind. You've imagined something yourself and then felt strongly enough to get on the internet and rebuke someone else for something that only happened in your own head.

You are confusing.

I'M confusing ???? :omg:

Which is exactly the point I made in my previous message that both 'angered' and 'confused' you.

Seriously, I still don't get why you addressed your message to me.

    • Our Gurus met with and influenced many religious leaders. Lord Chaitanya of Bengal was one of them. Our historians should do more research on this important event in history. Another great incident is that of Guru Hargobind Sahib ji who met with Samarth Ramdas the Guru of the Maratha king Shivaji while in Kashmir. I read some where that the Rajput Raja who helped Shivaji escape Mughal captivity was a Shardaloo of Guru Tegh Bahadur sahib ji.  I really wish our historians would shed more light on these events
    • They always give their terrorist groups these harmless sounding names. Rakshak sounds as if it is a defensive operation. Similarly during the 80s they had a group called Hindu Suraksha Samiti or something like that as if it was a defence group but the intention was to fight and kill kill Sikhs with the help of the police.
    • Such a false flag operation was to be expected. Farmers were preparing for this. This is what they did during the Dharam Yudh morcha. But at the time there was no Ravish Kumar of NDTV, no youtube no facebook. So we couldn't tell our side of the story.  Modi government will try to do more such false flag operations.
    • He is a heretic. His views are very missionary like. Only difference between him and missionaries is that he believes in Dasam Granth while missionaries don't. But otherwise their beliefs, ideology is identical. From my interaction with Dharm Singh's chellas online, they are worse than missionaries. They insult our Shaheeds especially if that Shaheed is associated with the Taksal.  They just look like Nihangs, but there is absolutely nothing Nihang like about them. Wolves in sheep's clothing. Dharam Singh also has close relations with prominent missionaries. They invite him to give lectures to their so called college since their heretical ideology is the same
    • I know this post and topic is from 2005, the year I was born. When I read forums like this, I cry alot because I still haven't been blessed with amrit. This daat is literally on my mind every day. Every day. I'm crying alot now because i really hope maharaj blesses this paapi with amrit. The joth in me dying for it. Maharaj kirpa karan. God knows how many times I have created a forum talking about me wishing to be blessed with amrit. My lots of pyaar to all those gursikhs that have taken amrit and keeping a rehat. Lots of pyaar to those that are like me crying to take amrit everyday. Lots of pyaar to everyone. Maharaj kirpa karan that everyone will be blessed with amrit.
