Indian Movies...Need Help!

I'm taking a class on Indian Cinema, and one of our assignments is to find a movie that interests us and write a paper about it. I would like to write about a movie dealing with Sikhs. In fact, I was planning on using the movie Hawayein, but my professor said that the movie was poorly made. Does anyone have any suggestions or know about any other Indian movies about Sikhs (excluding Bend It Like Beckham)?

Hawayein - A movie with HUGE propaganda against Sikhs of late 70's and 80's. It's very messed up movie. If you see it now, you will see the plot of conspiracy by movie makers after the 40 mins of the movie.

Yeah but the Ajay Devgun one, bobby deols version was alrite but poorly made. Maachis is awesome and Hawayein shows some facts but it still portrays Sikhs in a bad light.
