Historical Artifacts In Japan

Recommended Posts

A new/recent news report in the e- Punjabi American newspaper has claimed

that according to a Sukhdev Singh who undertook research on the missing Sikh

relics- some of Guru Gobind Singh Ji sahibs relics which include the writings

of 52 poets, some gutkas and the original Dasam Granth are with the japanese

government archives. While some are in a Museum in Mecca.

He started his research to locate the missing relics in 1986 , has located

the Fifth Copy of the the Original hand written Guru Granth sahib, the work on

which Guru Gobind commenced and which disappeared in the First Ghallughara

has been traced to the museum in Mecca.[[plundered and STOLEN by abdali/the

mughal plunderers]]???

Sukhdev Singh ji claims that the SGPC , the Punjab state and the Indian

Governments are aware , but have not made any attempt to get it back.

According to him , all the art work and other writings that were beleived to

be lost when Guru sahib crossed the Sirsa river, has been traced to the

japanese Government library and archives. He claims most of it was saved .He also

says there are some other works lying around other museums of the world.

This was located in 1993, but again the Punjab and Indian Governemnts have

done nothing to make representations to japan government to return them.

However he says the japanese Government is not prepared to return the relics

and the historical papers, but are happy to provide copies of all the

literature they have.

He says we should at least get the originals made into copies, and has

appealed to the Gurduara Judicial Commission, SGPC and makes an appeal to Vedanti

to sat up another committee[[ not a bright idea after vedanti tried his hand

at kabootarbaazi recently ]] that can work to bring these items back from

Japan, while looking for the Kalgi.

When asked how did these items land up in Japan- Sukhdev Singh said that is

yet another long but a mysterious story that emerged from his hard research

work which he will share with all in the near future.

[[is it possible some pro indian independance Sikh fighters smuggled these

out to Japan.Another interesting but little known fact has been on record

that when the original founder of the INA-Giani Pritam Singh ji was killed in

a plane crash along with two other unnamed Sikhs and other japanese officers

at Taipei Airport - he was on his way to japan with some secret but

precious cargo- what exactly was this cargo? No body could explain then.Could it

have been some of the said Sikh relics and papers now in japan ?]]]

The best way to go about retrieving these Granths are via historical preservationists, who actually give a damn about the conservation of our heritage. If SGPC get hold of them, they will only go on display, get ripped up, selotaped back together, biro pen over where the letters have gone missing, and then burnt
