GURU roop Sadh Sangat jeeo, Waheguru ji ka Khalsa Waheguru ji ki Fateh. Caste system realy needs to be eradicated from Sikhi. But no one is doing some thing for practical implication of the same and everybody just talks ,gives quotes from Gurbaani . Can any body from so called higher castes can marry his daugtrer/son to a boy /daughter from so called lower caste? If yes, it is O.K. and if no , please forgive me , we are only so called Sikhs or BHEKHI SIKHS and not real SIKHS. I being an Amritdhari ,wanted to marry an Amritdhari SIKH Girl in 1979-80 and advertised in a leading Punjabi news papper mentioning especially "Caste no bar"but got response from only …

The Internet has provided a forum for free speech which is being abused by all and sundry to project their views with the finality of an intellectual whose research cannot be wrong. All writers, young and old, write in the superlative degree, presenting their views as "the only correct view", "the best book", "the worst case" and the like. Human fallibility has become non-existent. After the Tercentenary celebrations at Hazur Sahib, on the internet and in print magazines, it has become fashionable for Sikh intelligentsia to indulge in a superlative discussion about, "Goat Sacrifice at Hazur Sahib." I have been following this debate for a long time and I have observed tha…

How to do Sukhaasan Di Sewa By Manvir Singh Khalsa ’Sukhaasan’ means "easy pose" or posture of rest, peace and tranquillity. At night after Sodar Rehraas, Guru Ji’s Saroop (Volume) is put to rest (i.e. ceremoniously closed and placed) in a special room or place, but before being moved, Guru Ji is put into Sukhaasan. In essence, it is the reverse of the Prakaash ceremony. Sukhaasan takes place after the sun goes down, or at any time before Guru Ji’s Saroop is moved, such as at the completion of Gurdwara ceremony when Guru Ji is to be moved. The following is a full Sukhaasan ceremony: 1. The sewadaar (volunteer) serving as the Granthi takes a Hukamnaama. 2. The Granthi…

I don't eat meat nor do i drink.. i stopped a long time ago. I'm not amritdhari, so i don't do paat every morning etc.. But i do keep my dhari etc, i wear a blue dastaar (personally i like tying it more than the normal black ones, even though it makes me looks more religious than i actually am lol) Can i wear a Kirpan then .. Cuz i thought of this, i can wear Kara/Khanga etc, even if i did eat meat (get paahp i know), but wearing a Kirpan would sort of be in the same context kinda (even though i know it has a completely different meaning from the other K's) I dont eat egg anymore, but i sometimes want to go back.. Cuz i need a lot of protien for my training. (Also the …

Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh Thank you GuruManeyoGranth, Menu Ke Patha, Freed, Just Me, and lowest of the low singhni for posting what you thought the morals/lessons to be learnt from the previous sakhis were. It would be great if you or anyone else could do the same for this sakhi about King Janak. Bhai Gurdas Ji has written about King Janak in his Vaars: After a long life of mediation and naam abhiyaas, King Janak gave up his body. A divine chariot decorated with many bells descended and King Janak’s soul boarded it. On the way the chariot came near to the abode of Dharam Raj, the lord of death. There, sinners were suffering punishment in millions of…
