VahegurooJiKaKhalsaVahegurooJiKiFateh! Can anyone offer any help on understanding this Shabad by Bhai Gurdas Ji? I am certain it cannot mean how the translations present it to mean. For one thing they have translated "naam japavae" as 'reminds of'. ਸਤਿਜੁਗਿ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਵਾਸਦੇਵ ਵਵਾ ਵਿਸਨਾ ਨਾਮੁ ਜਪਾਵੈ । satijugi satigur vaasadayv vavaa visanaa naamu japaavai| In Satyug, Visnu in the form of Vasudev is said to have incarnated and ‘V’ Of Vahiguru reminds of Visnu. duaapari satigur haree krisan haahaa hari hari naamu japaavai| The true Guru of dvapar is said to be Harikrsna and ‘H’ of Vahiguru reminds of Hari. ਤੇਤੇ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਰਾਮ…

I have become a fan of Nihang rehit mentioned in Khalsa Sunder Gutka. Are there any contradictions between Nihang rehit and Damdami Taksal Rehit ? Does Taksal fully respect the Nihang rehit ????

Wjkk Wjkf Sangat jee, theres something that has been bothering me for a long time thought id share with you all :umm: . Being born in a sikh family, ive always had high regards for sikhism, both as a philosophy and as a religion with its associated dos and donts (Bani and bana). My late father was a proper gursikh, he shakkna amrit when i was a child and till his untimely death he kept his rehat, followed Guru's word down to its last core. I have no hesitation in saying he was almost a sant in that he had given up kaam, krodh, lobh, moh and ahankaar to a large extent. Was humble not baharo but from deep within, his aura was just that powerful. Anyway, coming back to the…

http://www.sikhroots.com/index.php?option=...3&Itemid=27 Halloween & The Sikhs Harjinder Singh www.akaalpublishers.com Halloween is a global festival which is cheerfully celebrated with kids trick or treating, people mocking and gimmicking ghosts, ghouls, goblins and demons. For Sikhs on the other hand Halloween carries a real grave significance, of real ghouls and demons, who massacred Sikhs in October and November 1984. On Halloween, 31st October 1984 – Indira Gandhi the Indian Prime Minister was assassinated. What followed her death was inhumane, depraved and despicable, some call it genocide others ethnic cleansing, I’ll let the readers decide what they…

Divali – Keeping the flame of freedom alight Sikhs throughout the globe will celebrate Divali on 28th October. Divas/lamps will be alight, a jovial festival atmosphere will prevail. Sweets and samosas will be enjoyed, fireworks will set alight the moonlit sky. But why do we really celebrate? Apart from the annual calendar significance? What does Divali mean for us as Sikhs? The sixth Guru, Sri Guru Hargobind Sahib Jee was falsely imprisoned for spurious reasons by the Mughal Emperor Jahangir. After some months it was declared that Guru Jee could walk free. Like Guru Jee there were other prisoners of conscience in Gwalior Fort (the prison), specifically 52 Hindu Ki…

What is happening with 3ho sikhs may be confusing youth and 3ho sikh beliefs deviate from Sikhism 110% Guru Nanak preached unity but he never preached yoga as prt of Sikhism so theses people in a way are disrupting Sikhism. Just go on the website www.mrSikhnet.com for sure and I think www.Sikhnet.com as well under the audio selection and the Yogi Bhajan lectures and see what Yogi Bhajan said about Guru Gobind Singh under the lecture describing guru gobind singh. Just check out the book titled Sikh Identity by Opinderjit Kaur Takhar it descirbes how 3HO Sikhs on page 172 deviate from the Sikh lifestyle with their affinity to Guru Ram Das, seeing vegetarianism as a teachin…
