TAKING AND BREAKING AMRIT Think about two words people put together Breaking Amrit. Some talk about "Taking Amrit" and "Breaking Amrit". Ask yourself, how can you take something that isn't yours? And how can you break something that is Eternal? What does the word Amrit mean in Siri Guru Granth sahib Ji? THE FIRST AND HIGHEST AMRIT Here's what I understand. Bhai Gurdas Ji says that God is inside us like fire is hidden inside the wood. When someone is blessed enough with the highest state and realise God inside them, then God manifests in two spiritual forms - LIGHT and AMRIT. That great and blessed soul experiences light brighter than all the suns and their…

Take time to live Harvey Mackay Benjamin Franklin said, "If we take care of the minutes, the years will take care of themselves." One minute. It doesn't seem like much. However, never underestimate the cumulative effect of each minute we live. Suppose, for example, a minute is worth one penny. You spot a penny lying on the street but pass it by because it's hardly worth the effort of leaning over to pick it up. But suppose you began to double that penny each day for a month. At the end of a week, you would only have 64 pennies. That's not much maybe, but at the end of a month you would have 536,870,912 pennies. Translated into dollars, that's $5,368,709.12. But it's…

WJKK WJKF, Why are we so reluctant to take Amrit? I've been contemplating whether or not to take it, and I come accross minor excuses. "I'm not good enough," or "I won't be able to get up in the morning to do paht." Well if you question yourself if your not good enough, you are cause you care to be a good amritdhari. I being a Sikh, can never leave the Sikh path of life. It's been 20 yrs since the 1984 attack, and 400 yrs when the SGGS was installed at Darbar Sahib in Amritsar. If we Sikhs can't even take an hour or more out of our life to read gurbani and do paht, that is pretty lame and pathetic. All of those who died for the panth, would want to see the Sikh Panth …

WJKK WJKF Sangat ji, Time has arrived for me to take amrit on this vaisakhi. I request everyone to help me prepare for the ceremony. I don't know how would I get myself prepared for the ceremony itself. -Are the five K's distributed at the ceremony or I have to collect them ahead of time? -I know I need to take shower from head to toe and what should I wear on that day? -I can't recite five banis without GUTKA SAHIB so, do I need to carry one or ask for it at GURUDWARA SAHIB? -What are other steps involved in preparing myself? Please pardon my ignorance as I don't know much about the requirements and pray for me so that GURU MAHARAJA mere te kirpa karen!!! WJKK …

The story about Baba Dhumma's taksal faction changing gurbani is not accurate. Just doing a simple search on the net has provided these examples, not to mention a pdf of a Puratan Saroop of Aad Guru which i downloaded from the net. http://www.flickr.com/photos/jivanpalsingh/3043777885/in/photostream/ So we can safely say that it is not accurate reporting that there has been any changes by Baba Dhumma's Taksal, just that they are copying from a version that doesnt havent. Some of you should know better than to pick up the story's of these sorts and post them here to make yourself look important and other look stupid.

Waheguru Here is a Taksali Gutka of Damdami Taksal which Purtan Singhs used. Baba Mohan Singh Bindranwale expliens Shudh Ucharan on hard words. Baba Ji at the end of the Gutka comments on how Chaupai Sahib was cut short and who did it and Baba Gurbachan Singh's thought on it too. The end part of the Gutka is worth reading it also expliens which doras were cut out and Baba Ji shows from Purtan Granths that these doras were in the Nitnem. Also, has many other interesting facts worth reading. Taksali Gutka Waheguru

ਸੁ ਕਹੁ ਟਲ/ਕਲ ਗੁਰੁ ਸੇਵੀਐ ਅਹਿਨਿਸਿ ਸਹਜਿ ਸੁਭਾਇ ॥ Old post from Gurmatbibek. In response to a question whether we recite the Bhatt's name as 'Kal' or as commonly recite before taking vaak 'Tal' Kulbir Singh writes: Indeed the correct paath is ਸੁ ਕਹੁ ਕਲ and not ਸੋ ਕਹੁ ਟਲ. Bhai Hardaas the Hazoori Likhaari of Siri Guru Gobind Singh jee and whose written Bir is considered to be one of the most Shudh Bir has the paath - ਸੁ ਕਹੁ ਕਲ as opposed to ਸੋ ਕਹੁ ਟਲ. The biggest proof is that the internal numbering system of Gurbani does NOT backup a Bhatt by the name of Tal. All 10 Savaiyas of Savaiye Mahalle Dooje ke are written by Bhatt Kal and if the last one had been written by Bhatt …
