Waheguroo Jee Ka Khalsa! Waheguroo Jee Kee Fateh!! Sangat Jeeo, I've noticed that a lot of gurdwara especially during akhand paaths use a lamp using ghee. I heard that they use it in case of any power breaks but is it an essential? Nowadays you can get battery powered lights which probably are more efficient in providing light for the paathi singhs. Another thing is that the jot is wrecking the paint job above it on the ceiling at the gurdwara i go to. They always use it but they keep it like 3-6 metres away from Guru Sahib. Whats the point? You can even get emergency lights installed which charge when electricity is working and automatically switch on during power sur…

hello everyone, recently I've been reading a post in which alot of references were made to nang....and I don't know what it means, I asked bikramjit singh who hasn't answered (he seems to use it alot) ..but he may not have seen the question! er...what is a nang? I thought it was someone who is dressed up as a nihang, but secretly hates and disrespects their maryada but I have since seen people who are not admitting to being nihang using this term...so what is it? and how do you come to the conclusion that someone is a nang in your eyes :T: this is for everyone. Technically and scientifically a turban serves to protect our hair and scalp from the elements, and by keeping the crown covered, we automatically enhance our internal thermal controls, so that we remain cooler in the heat of the sun and warmer in colder temperatures. A turban also a puts a pressure on the frontal lobes and helps maintain stability on the crainial plates - and this serves to enhance our mental focuss and the clarity of our thought projections

Vaheguroo Jee Ka Khalsa Vaheguroo Jee Kee Fateh! i have a question about when prashaad is given out to the sangat: why is it given out to five people first, then the sevadaar giving it out goes back and gets some more and distributes it to the rest of the sangat? i know it has something to do with the Panj Piaray, but could someone please elaborate on that? On a side note, i was at an akj program once and they gave the parshad out to five SINGHS first, even though the parshad was kept on the women's side and the singhnees were closer...what's the reason for that? does the AKJ believe that only Singhs can be Panj Piaray?

What makes one individual a revolutionary or a terrorist in the eyes of society ? In 1984 we were looked upon as terrorists by the Indian government and perhaps by other people in the world, yet in our own eyes we saw figures of 1984 as revolutionaries. Where is the line drawn ?? Can you please relate it to Sikhi. - Sunny

Waheguroo Jee Ka Khalsa! Waheguroo Jee Kee Fateh!! I used the arguments used by Prof Teja Singh Ji from 'Gateway of Sikhism' to explain to a Muslim what Sikhism believes in relation to Vaheguru being part of His creation, and present and diffused throughout creation. The following is his reply. I know it is long, but I thought it was a good idea to post it here to expose what these people believe and if possible to gain some knowledge from the learned Sangat on the forum. Let us examine the notion of Pantheism and see if it befits the majesty and upholds the absolute perfect nature of God. Before we do this, let us realise that language is that which is defined and und…

I have sent a email to the SECRETARY of Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee. I want to know what you guys think about this subjust, all the Nihang and other small Gurdware in Punjab the person reading the SGGS covers his mouth I h…
