Waheguroo Ji Ka Khalsa, Waheguroo Ji Ki Fateh, I just came across on Guru Gobind Singh Ji's Gurpurab & in the Nanakshahi Calander it says 5th January but when the actual date is 21st December, I'm just curious why don't we follow the actual date Gurpurab? All, I wish to inform you all not to be carried away by the propaganda unleashed by the Indians. Here is one such guy who claims to be a sikh and writing utter rubbish. Sangath Jio, I came across a Singhnee, happened to be my sister in law's friend and she's just recently had a baby. And she was saying that after a Singhnee gives birth she needs 2 re-take Amrit again, is this true? ... I've never come across this untill this Singhnee told me now I'm totally confused .

I really think we should do something about Sikhnet, they are misleading the youth, in the Q & A Forum. For every question the answer is Yoga, and they are making up their own bs to answer all the youth questions, everything is from a Yoga point of view, not a Sikh point of view. Leaving aside Guru ji, the general question of taking afeem (opium) in limited quantities for war/medical wounds is simply unproblematic. When you go to the hospital, they give you morphine. What do you think morphine is? It's an opiate. Even codeine (cough syrup) is an opiate! Ever had a cough? Granted, it is against Gurmat to take opium or other drugs for the fun of it. -
Yeah, that's one possibility. Another I initially thought is that it's a Muslim trying to gather info. But then, you might ask, how does he know about Sikh textual sources. Well, you'd be surprised at their resourcefulness. A final possibility is he's a weak Sikh who was asked a question by a non-Sikh and now he's suddenly feverishly wondering where it's "written" that you can't marry a young child. To the latter, I would say, you're looking in the wrong spot. Gurbani isn't a 1428 page rulebook, like Leviticus or the Vedas: ਸਿਮ੍ਰਿਤਿ ਸਾਸਤ੍ਰ ਪੁੰਨ ਪਾਪ ਬੀਚਾਰਦੇ ਤਤੈ ਸਾਰ ਨ ਜਾਣੀ ॥ ਤਤੈ ਸਾਰ ਨ ਜਾਣੀ ਗੁਰੂ ਬਾਝਹੁ ਤਤੈ ਸਾਰ ਨ ਜਾਣੀ ॥ The Simritis and Shastras discriminate between charity and sin, but know not the essence of the Real Thing.
