  1. Those that want to move to Sarbloh Bibek, you are on the right track. First thing to do is completely cut out eating out. No restuarants, unless Amritdharis are the only cooks. If thats difficult at first, then only go to restuarants where vegatarian food is offered. Then slowly move away from them as well. Packaged goods.....be very careful which factory these are made in. If it says made in a factory where eggs were used, then don't buy it. If you don't do your Banis and then move toward Sarbloh Bibek, you will notice that your health is getting better, but spiritually you will have very little progress. If we eat healthy then we can progress in our jeevans faster because the mind is more clear and won't be as lazy. If you feed your body junk, then that is what you will become......same goes for mind, feed it junk and it becomes junk. Those that work out vigouriously don't also need to eat heavy food. You need food that is healthy....filled with the nutrients the body needs without the junk. It is a myth when you are woking out that you need heavy foods. All you need to do is increase the amount of meals you have a day, so the body is getting enough food to keep functioning. A place to start for some......cut out energy drinks......thats a huge drain on your jeevan and horrible for the body.

  2. Are we saying sikh teachings and vedanta are same in essence. In my view not at all. Guru gobind singh ji created khalsa and we partake pahul from one bata thus eliminating notion of caste system. Advait vedanta supports caste system. Sikhism is a practical religion wherein institution of khalsa is the most important milstone. Khalsa abolished caste system, fought agianst tyranny and put the invaders on the run. Where were the followers of vedanta when muslims were taking their sisters and daughters to bazaars of kabul. These spiritualists had no heart to face them and they just looked the other way as if they have seen nothing. Sikhi is just not spirituality alone. It is not a religion of pujaris of maths ( Maths are big temples where vedanta is taught). Our Gurus knew that only spirituality is not going to help downtrodden people. That is why most important instituion of kahlsa was created.had it not been a khalsa creation sikhism by now would have lost its existence. i am not against any religion. But sikhi is not same as vedanta.

  10. Thanks for your replies all. I've read through it and most of the points that seem to be made are in regardance of maya, but in Gurbani, it says to love those that bring us closer to God, right? In that case, it seems wise to marry a wife who'll say things like "You should go to sleep now, be rested for Amrtivela", and if one is lucky enough to find a religious wife like that, the love between the spouses in that case would be good and not count as attachment, yes? Thus, that is the secret to a healthy love-filled marriage then?

  12. No. The "Patiala Shahi" style pag looks the best, by far.

  13. It's always best to the above steps with the right posture. You must always insure that your right foot is firmly planted on the floor and your left foot above the ground (a chair is perfect). Your left hand should be sitting on your left hip and your head should be slightly tilted to the right while you adjust your musch. Also remember it's always better to practice technique in the presence of your in-laws. Hope this was helpful and please let us know how it played out.

  15. Sorry veer, i didn't get your question. I thought below are daily kriya of human's life regardless of dharam or beleifs. Ishnaan, brushing teeth, combing hair. I am just trying to understand, are you implying the need to keep sarbloh bibek is same or as significant as human daily kriya to do ishnan, brushing teeth or combing hair? Please clarify? I am confused.

  18. Khalsa Ji There are many factors in a relationship and especially in marriage. Obviously it would be pleasant if both husband and wife were spiritual people. Some of the key points to remember in order to be successful is to be tolerant , respectful , try to help each other etc. sometimes people can become over attached to someone or something without even realising it. Just remember that apart from Naam everything else is just temporary. Gurbani says that maya is a shull (scam) so in order to avoid being duped by maya it is very important to engage in Naam Simran. Showing love to each other in marriage is a wonderful thing but always keep in touch with Gurbani otherwise the over attachment can turn into pain.

  19. I don't believe I'm going to say this but we should have adopted the policy of sending our children to the Gurughar daily for religious education after school hours like the Muslims have been sending their children to mosque. I've been hearing since I was a child from Muslim acquaintances "Going to mosque after school", so I reckon it's about time "Going to Gurughar after school" became a common phrase amongst us. Kids gloves are off, our people are besharam and aren't understanding the softly-softly approach anymore, that's if they ever did. Things are getting worse and it's either wait for people to experience a divine revelation and mend their ways, or more realistically sort things out on their behalf because we aren't willing to do it for ourselves. But I fear it is too late for such a radical change. This kind of action was needed when our forefathers were coming to this country and settling down, establishing roots. Such routines and systems should've started back then as not many would've objected. Now I can see the sell-outs in our community go crying to the papers and radio stations and moaning that the "hardliners" are forcing their kids into religious education. Nevermind. :angry2:

  20. I ran this through a translator and this is what it came up with.... Good day, sirs! My dear compadre has just procured himself an automated nicotine delivery system which, quite remarkably, contains no tobacco! As it is bereft of such carcinogenic additives, it must surely be acceptable to toke, would you not agree? I myself chose to partake of this modern delight and found it to carry a very palatable hint of strawberries, though my reservations are whether it is wholly appropriate to imbibe this concoction, given my religious convictions. Would you concur? That sounds about right.
