  2. The statement given by Damdami Taksal aka Gurinder Singh is attempting to whitewash what Bhai Amrik Singh Jee said as a 'personal grudge.' Bhai Amrik Singh and the satkaar committee have always been the first on the spot when it came to beadbi of Guru Granth Sahib Jee and pakhandi saadhs. What Bhai Amrik Singh Jee speaks, is the truth, and he would know as he as he was kicked out of mehta in 2005 along with other singhs close to Baba Thakur Singh Jee, when Dhumma sahib became the self appointed 'mukhi' of Taksaal, with the blessings of the Amrinder Singh government at the time. Perhaps it should be worth mentioning that some singhs were locked up on false charges by police friends of Dhumma sahib and elder singhs were beaten up. But I'm sure that Bhai Amrik Singh Jee and other singhs can dictate the facts when asked. Bhai Amrik Singh Jee could approach Sri Akaal Takht or SGPC to expose Dhumma sahib, but I'm sure, given the current political influences, this issue would be swept under the carpet as the 'mukhi' is best of buddys with the Badal administration. Bhai Amrik Singh Jee isn't stupid, he doesn't need to waste his time trying to expose Dhumma sahib to the politically tainted establishment - as the truth will continue to reveal itself. Instead, him and singhs belonging to the jatha have committed themselves to the sewa of Guru and Panth and follow the bachans of Sant Jarnail Singh Jee - especially those bachans that are against siding with politicians. Damdami Taksaal Ajnala follow the bachans of Brahamgiani Baba Thakur Singh Jee and will continue to do so - everything will become clear soon

  3. Since Haryana is brought to this topic, let us please make it clear that the only reason why Haryana is doing well is NOT because it is better governed or because it's people are more industrious. It is in the good fortune of Haryana that they have Gurgaon city. That city has also progressed only because of it's close proximity to New Delhi. Many foreign companies want to invest in or near New Delhi. Since New Delhi has lack of space, they invest in cities that are near Delhi such as Gurgaon(Haryana) and Noida(UP). The land is cheaper in these cities than in Delhi. Other than Gurgaon, the rest of Haryana is so backward that it is like stepping back a 100 years. Some villages do not even have electricity. Gurgaon is the only reason why Haryana appears to be better than Punjab and Gurgaon's success has nothing to do with Haryana itself. We think Punjab's sex ratio is bad, Haryana's is worse. They also top the list in honour killings in India. Caste is a bigger problem in Haryana than it is in Punjab.

  5. Veer Chatangi ji, Quote "Badal accepted their demand for alam to be dropped, but not for saini. Sant Samaj do not agree with this, but ultimately the responsibility lies with badal." Badal gave the ticket to the wife of Alam. Is this acceptable? "The photos thing came about because someone complained the Gurdwara wouldm have pics of the shaheeds from the Khalistan movement. There are pics of Bhai Amrik SIngh and Gen Subeg SIngh in the gallery, and they have been there for years." Who complained about the pictures? Avtar Singh Makkar has stated in recent news article that there will be no pictures or names. I am not talking about the gallery but the Sikh Memorial which is dedicated to the shaheeds of 1984. How can a Sikh Memorial contain no pictures or names of shaheeds? I do not understand why you resort to name calling? Daas has raised genuine concerns and it seems like many others on this forum agree. Anyway daas has no enmity towards you and I would never call you names such as "imbecile" or "weasel". Please lets maintain respect towards each other. This is a panthic issue and not personal issue veer ji. Again I hope I am wrong and Sant Samaj and bhai Harnam Singh ji are right. Daas only wants chardi kala for the panth. May Guru Sahib bless Sant Samaj, bhai Harnam Singh ji and entire Sik Panth with success and chardi kala.

  7. Chatanga jee, Bhaaji, Dhumma sits an the feet of Badal, serves him Mithayee(sweets) like a common servant. Is this befitting of the Jathadar of DDT? can you imagine Sant Jarnail Singh Bhindranwalay or Sant Gurbachan Singh Bhindranwalay sitting at the feet of a corrupt politician like Badal and serving him Mithayee like a house Naukar? I DONT" THINK SO! You are defending the indefensible.

  8. Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh A number of allegations have been put against Baba Harnam Singh Ji Khalsa. Most of these are to cause further friction in the Taksal. The Taksal on its own does not make up the Panth, Taksal is part of the links which including other Jathebandi's of the Panth make up the backbone of the Sikh Dharam. Bhai Amrik Singh Ji Ajnala are doing a great seva exposing Radha Swamis and raising other Satkaar issues, but if Bhai Sahib has a personal grudge against Harnam Singh then this is not the time to express it, he should not use a Panthic issue, but face to face at Sri Akal Takhat Sahib and work for the unity of Damdami Taksal. But the allegations which have been placed against Baba Harnam Singh are totally false. If anybody including Bhai Amrik Singh Ji Ajnala can prove this, take it to the Panj Singh Sahibaan at Sri Akal Takhat Sahib, provide the proof take the media with them so nobody can go back on their word, then Harnam Singh will present himself at Sri Akal Takhat Sahib to accept and punishment given to him from the Panth. Most of these allegations are by people who hate the whole concept of Damdami Taksal or Sri Dasam Granth and by those people who are questioning why is Harnam Singh doing so much but were not getting any lime light? In the picture where Parkash Singh Badal sits on a chair, where as everyone around him sits on the floor, does anyone know the reason for this? This is because he has had a hip replacement not because he is higher than Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji, but because it is phsically not possible for him to sit on the floor. As for Harnam Singh holding a thaal of sweets is this Anti-Panthic? Many other leaders have vowed to do so much, what have they achieved? The two of the numerous issues of the Panth, the calendar issue was sorted. The memorial for the 1984 Shaheed Singhs has begun building. Yet Harnam Singh is still Anti-Panthic? Harnam Singh starts building 1984 and the affects could be felt as far as Delhi? Yet he's still Anti - Panthic? Singhs dont waste your energy slandering each other, do as much as you can for the benefit of the Panth.

  9. Priceless, Divine Diamonds - XI Sriman Sant Isher Singh Ji Maharaj Rara Sahib Wale 61. Four means to blissful life 1. Dispassion (Vairãg · ਵੈਰਾਗ) 2. Patience - (Dhīraj · ਧੀਰਜ) 3. Contentment - (Sanṯokẖ · ਸੰਤੋਖ) 4. Enquiry (Vīchār · ਵੀਚਾਰ) These four means are highly fruitful for the attainment of highest spiritual wisdom (brahmgyān - ਬ੍ਰਹਮਗਿਆਨ), and for living a blissful life. It is essential for serious seekers to retain them in their minds. 1. Dispassion - (Vairãg · ਵੈਰਾਗ) — Constant awareness of the fact that the entire physical world, and everything in it, is perishable and therefore is cause of suffering. 2. Forbearance - (Dhīraj · ਧੀਰਜ) — All forms of life undergo moments of pain, pleasure and difficulty, etc. To be able to live blissfully, one should face these phases with patience. 3. Contentment - (Sanṯokẖ · ਸੰਤੋਖ) — One should remain content with whatever one has been preordinated in this life (Prārbadha · ਪ੍ਰਾਰਭਧ); to be free from desire for 'more'. 4. Enquiry - (Vīchār · ਵੀਚਾਰ) — Self-Enquiry and Wisdom are both the same thing. Enquiry involves discrimination between the Real and the unreal; reflection on the unreal nature of the world about us, and that everything, whether it is within or beyond the reach of the sense organs, is nothing but physical manifestation of the Formless One. When such realisation takes place in the intellect, the only entity that remains then is the Non-dual, Formless source of Supreme Bliss that is unaffected by any modifications of the mind. In this state, the wise one (Gyānī) sees himself pervading in everything, and everything in himself. The establishment in this unshakable state is called 'Samādhī' - I am Everything. ॥ Nirvikalpohaṅ(g) ॥ 62. Bodiless state while living A clay pitcher is nothing but moulded clay. In the same way, the physical body is nothing else but Self (Atmā). Intrinstic nature of the body - birth, death, pleasure, pain, sadness, respect, dishonour, profit, loss, etc. are mere forms of the Self. But Self (Atmā) is free from all modifications. Therefore, nothing else exists apart from the One that is beyond modifications. One that possesses this wisdom is liberated while living, as there is no identification with the body; in such a state only Self (Atmā) exists. ~ NirVikalpa Samādhī ~ Controlling the Horse-like Mind Put reins of enquiry on the horse-like mind, and place on it a firm saddle of concentration. Fasten that saddle with control of the sense organs. Repeatedly smack the chattery back of that horse with the whip of spiritual practice (Abhyās). Make it take steps of devotion on the path to salvation, cross the stages of attentive listening (Shravaṇa) and contemplation (Manana), and finally establish it in the temple of profound meditation (Nidhyāsana). With spontaneity, increase the Spiritual practice and realise the true Self. Live physical life this way — perpetually intoxicated in Spiritual bliss, and achieve disembodied salvation once the preordained karams (Prãrbadha) end; this is the sole purpose of human life. 63. Sãs Grãs (Prāṇa Apāṇa) The physical body remains alive as long as Prāṇa operates in it, and dies when the knot of Prāṇa is opened, i.e., when it leaves the body. Prāṇa and Apāṇa are vital airs. Prāṇa arises from the heart and expands outwardly up to a distance equivalent to approximately twelve fingers, then returns back to the heart in the form of Apāṇa where it changes back into Prāṇa, and the cycle continues. There is also a small cessation between a Prāṇa Apāṇa cycle, which is known as Kumbhaka. This is how the movement of vital airs happens in the body. This very movement (also known as Sãs Grãs) is the instrument with which Simran takes place. Sarab rūp sabh tē parē, mam sarūp hai sō'e ॥ Yahī sār sidhānt hai, tis bin avar na kō'e. ॥ 1. Nirgun form — There are absolutely no thoughts or desires in (my) Self (Atmā); only thing that exists is a state of Samādhi where there is no mind, knowledge, knower or the known whatsoever. 2. Sargun form — The physical manifestations are nothing more a projection of (my) Self (Atmā). Just like a dreamer who takes on different forms in his dreams, the Self, with the power of Māyā and ignorance, appears fragmented in myriads of forms about us. In reality however, these forms are nothing but the same indivisible Self. Therefore, one and many both are the same Self only. 64. Two Aspects — Nishedh Pakẖ and Vidhān Pakẖ 1. Nishedh Aspect (ਨਿਸ਼ੇਧ ਪੱਖ) — In this form of enquiry, attributes of body and Self are observed separately – Physical body is untrue, insentient, fragmented and is form of suffering, whereas the Self (Atmā) is existence, knowledge, bliss and is Absolute. Such enquiry elevates awareness from the level of name and form (Nām-Rūpa) and moves it towards the Absolute. However – 2. Vidhān Aspect (ਵਿਧਾਨ ਪੱਖ) — In this, duality totally vanishes. Pitcher is nothing but clay, waves of the ocean are nothing but water, and ornaments are nothing but gold. Similarly, cause and effect, Self and body, these are only aspects of the same form. The Self is beyond past, present and future. At the highest stage, all sorts of fragmentation ─ body, world, mind etc. disappear, duality is completely annihilated and the Self (Atmã) is the only entity that pervades. Cause is always prevalent in its effect. Like, water is the cause and wave its effect. Similarly, the Abosulte (Brahm) is the cause and world is its effect. Therefore, the Absolute is always present in all physical manifestations. This universe cannot exist or sustain itself without the Absolute. Whatever action and reaction that occurs happens in the realm of the Absolute, and thus is nothing more than its own form. It is Non-Dual, Formless, Supreme Bliss, and free from all modifications. It is Samãdhī. 65. Self is beyond all Action Self (Atmā) has absolutely no connection with action. Action, or duty, is connected with: 1. Physical manifestations (Asthūl Sarīr · ਅਸਥੂਲ ਸਰੀਰ) 2. Fourfold internal organ - Mind (Mann), intellect (Buddh), subconcious mind (Chitt), and ego (Ahaṅkār) (Antahkarṇa · ਅੰਤਹਕਰਣ) 3. Organs of senses and actions ( Sabh Indrē · ਸਭ ਇੰਦਰੇ) 4. Controller of these senses (Indriyoṅ Ke Devtā · ਇੰਦਰਿਓਂ ਕੇ ਦੇਵਤਾ) 5. Preordained actions (Prārbhadha · ਪ੍ਰਾਰਭਧ) A combination of these five causes action. However, the Self (Atmā) is totally detached from all these and is self-existent. The body will last as long as preordained actions remain, and will end with the end of these assigned actions. The Self, which is my true reality, will forever remain established in its innate Supreme bliss. … to be continued … Link to Part I - Priceless, Divine Diamonds - Part I Link to Part II - Priceless, Divine Diamonds - Part II Link to Part III - Priceless, Divine Diamonds - Part III Link to Part IV - Priceless, Divine Diamonds - Part IV Link to Part V - Priceless, Divine Diamonds - Part V Link to Part VI - Priceless, Divine Diamonds - Part VI Link to Part VII - Priceless, Divine Diamonds - Part VII Link to Part VIII - Priceless, Divine Diamonds - Part VIII Link to Part IX - Priceless, Divine Diamonds - Part IX Link to Part X - Priceless, Divine Diamonds - Part X Guru Roop Sangat Jeo please forgive this moorakh for all the mistakes in the post :waheguru: Gurfateh!

  10. So i knew that my husband eats meat before I got married to him but i did not really care at the time. I just assumed that it was out in restaurants. So after i got married to him and i was staying in india they were going to have a small party at home and decided to make meat at home. Me and my mother in law are the only ones that dont eat it. It was very hard for me to see that because i have never really been that close in proximity of meat eating individuals both male and female. I was very umcomfortable and they were insisting i try it. I was determined and refused and went into my room. So here we are two years later living on our own and he started making at home. We are living in an apartment and the kitchen is pretty tiny. He makes it in the dishes that I make sabzi in. I cannot bear seeing that so i grab my car and leave to cool off. I've reasoned with hom so many times not to make it at home and to give up eating it but he refuses to listen to me. My question to you Sangat Ji is: is there a way I can make him stop? What can I do? Has anyone been in a similar situation(not necesarily husband wife relationship) and was able to help that person stray away from meat? My family Baba Deep Singh Ji nu manday a and therefore having meat in a or around us on Wednesday and Sundays is a big No No but these couple times he has made it has been on Wednesdays and thats the other reason it makes me mad. Is this a minor or major issue in your eyes? I feel like im going crazy. But he thinks im making a big issue out of nothing. To adm:i know we are not allowed to talk about meat but i really need opinions and suggestions because this forum had become like a second home where i am able to adk questions related to Sikhi which take place around me. Thanks

  12. According to indian express there will be no pictures in Sikh Memorial: http://www.indianexp...-makkar/975962/ “The memorial will be dedicated to the martyrs of Operation Bluestar. These include a large number of Sikh devotees who had gathered in Golden Temple to observe the martyrdom day of Guru Arjan Dev. There will be Prakash of Guru Granth Sahib in the gurdwara and hence, no pictures will be put in the memorial nor any names be mentioned,” SGPC chief Avtar Singh Makkar said. Why are they making another Gurdwara in Darbar Sahib? No pictures and no names of the shaheeds of our panth? This is just wrong and makes no sense. This is why so many people are opposing the Sikh Memorial theory are not anti-panthic. We just want to honour the Shaheeds of 1984 in the best possible way. The Sikh Memorial should have pictures of the Shaheeds and the name off every shaheed. It should be large museum in which one can feel the pain and learn about the massacre carried out by the Indian Govt. A Gurdwara with no pictures of shaheed or names cannot achieve this.

  17. Urdu, Hindi, farsi, Sanskrit, Braj Basa etc should also be taught but as minor subject courses to get extra credits if it is in the interest of the students. All languages are good in my opinion, even Hindi. But the status Hindi is given in Punjab is unnecessary in today's economic and education reality. Instead, English should be given that status. And Hindi along with other languages should be taught as minor courses so students are well rounded.
    1 point
  18. Not just the west, but even in India, Hindi cannot land you a job. But English can. English is the language that can open doors. If Punjab's government is not willing, at least Sikh schools should discard Hindi in favour of English. Muslims for example are catching up to this idea and implementing it in their schools. Take Zakir Naiks school in Bombay. The two languages that are promoted are Arabic and English. Arabic for religious purposes and English for worldly purposes. Similarly I feel that Sikh owners of schools should have this type of thinking for their schools. Punjabi should be promoted and English should be promoted so Sikh students can progress both spiritually and worldly. If only SGPC run schools and Akal academy schools can do this, it would really do a lot of good for the Sikh nation.

  21. OSingh Jee is right. Khalsa needs to only trust in Guru Gobind Singh Jee. Only the Saharaa of 10th master can give us success, not siding with lallu panchus of Akali Dal or Congress. Just imagine if all the Singhs of Taksal, Sant Samaj, AKJ, Nihangs, Sampradas, Bittu, Maan etc get together and form a 3rd front, the Akali Dal and Congress would start to have sleepless nights out of fear. Problem is, we don't have enough faith in the Khalsa. We have more faith in the corrupt men that are running India today.

  22. osingh veer ji, time to wake up and see the reality...using anti panthic to take out another anti panthic is pretty common technique (whether its via journalism/information war fare/election/politics) and its called proxy war..proxy war is well accepted in the sikh misl back post guru's time and even around 1980's - you study the situation and adapt according to the situation....there are plenty of examples in sikh history to show that. Whilst its good to be idealist but we must wake up to the reality and look at the bigger time- If sikh start following raw ideals not realize the ground reality then we would be crushed..for eg its bit of exterme example but it fits in- its well known fact most of weaponry around 1980's time came from pakistan/ISI- everyone including panthic singhs looked at the bigger picture and decided to used those weapons from pakistan- they didn't let co-operation hinder just because- pakistan/ISI as a nation is hot bed for extermist/ jihadist who are not our "genuine freind" and ought to convert everyone to Islam..they knew pakistan is not a genuine freind- Sikh freedom fighters knew pakistan is using them for proxy war for bigger sinister cause but still sikh freedom fighters used pakistan help.!!....even self righteous elitist used them!!! ..according to panthic.org..they must be anti panthic then..lol Look i am idealist too where i love to see- army of naam abhyasi singhs pargat infront of enemy and destroy all of enemies with star war weapons, but we need to wake up and face the reality and accept the fact- Vahiguroo work through mysterious ways and proxy war is one of them!!!!!

  23. If bhai Amrik Singh ji was lying about bhai Harnam Singh ji visiting Radhswami leader then is wrong. However bhai Amrik Singh ji made this statement in front of thee media and we have taken him at his word. It would be good if this issue can be cleared. Veer N30 Singh ji, How can one get a seat in the SGPC, this is nearly impossible because first you need to join a political party either Congress or Akali Dal Badal which are both corrupt, there is no doubt on this. On a personal level I could never join hands with these parties or campaign for votes for them. How would I campaign for Parkash Singh Badal while he is hiring dushts like Sumedh Saini to DGP and giving ticket to dusht Izhar Alam? We could easily defeat Badal and Congress with combined effort of Panthic Jathebandis Maan, Bittu and Sampardas/Jathebandis - AKJ,Taksal,Nihangs e.t.c. We do not need to join hands with corrupt politicians and corrupt parties we can achieve success by forming a third front which has Naam Abhiyaasi, Rehitwaan Gursikhs and leaders with good political knowledge. If all the Panthic leaders get together and form a plan to get control of SGPC we can get success. No individual can can get chardi kale for panth unless they have apaar kirpa of Guru Sahib this needs to be a combined effort between Panthic Gursikhs and Panthic Leaders. I think we are overestimating Badal/Captain and underestimating the potential of the Sikh Panth. Lets set aside differences regarding maryada etc and get chard kale for panth first. I repeat we will never get success by joining hands with Congress or Akal Dal Badal. I hope Sant Samaj and bhai Harnam Singh ji can prove daas wrong. Rabb Rake

If people got issues with him or anyone else for that matter (i.e - heretic darshan lal, jeonvala, dhunda), tarmala ji etc)), they should take it up to sri akaal takth sahib...no point claiming yourself "panthic" if you cannot go to sri akaal takth sahib and present your case !!!! And if you think Sri akaal takth sahib jathedar is curropt or badal run etc, who is stopping you as individual to slowly work yourself up to get seat in SGPC to improve the situation, surely whining about it on the forums cannot and does not help..!!..as they say- its human nature to whine about the problems, but hardly any human walk the path to resolve those "problems". We all have this syndrome- aah cannot be arsed, some next singh will do the seva..!! ermm yeah ok..lol.

You think they would ever be in a pose such as the below with Badal? This photo says alot about the relationship between the two of them.

  30. The most interesting thing is this GT group backed by nangs has been able to finally start discrediting work of GurSikhs that helped save the Panth for a century. It is impressive indeed. What's most impressive is they somehow have convinced people that christian influence was added and "puratan khalsa maryada" removal is worse than removing idols, tobacco, drugs, alcohol and naked dancing girls from Gurudwaras. Another impressive thing is how these nangs have associated Puratan Khalsa Maryada with Christian influence and the removal of naked dancing girls, tobacco, drugs, idols and the pest mahants from Gurudwaras. Puratan Khalsa Maryada wasn't discredited by any of the Singh Sabha movement, just more of propaganda spewed by nangs is that they bet their life that these Singhs (Attar Singh Mastuane, Bhai Randheer Singh, Baba Gurbachan Singh Bhindranwale, Bhai Veer Singh, Giani Ditt Singh) were all anti Khalsa maryada british raaj cronnies lool. They never use their specific names because it's easier to say Singh Sabha movement than point out exactly who in Singh Sabha movement was against Khalsa maryada? lol Baba Gurbachan Singh said he didn't agree with some stuff that goes on at Hazoor Sahib but still respected the maryada. Don't get caught up in dogma and forget the essence of what Sikhi is. Jaagde rehna Singhoo...jaagde rehna...

It's because of GurSikhs around the time of the Singh Sabha Movement that Sikhi was able to survive another century. They fought to bring back the panth from manmat and out of sanatan Sikhi and these non-Sikhs in the UK are trying to bring back these elements in form of academics. Most people don't know, but Attar Singh Mastuana, Bhai Randheer Singh, Baba Gurbachan Singh Bhindranwale were all a part of this reform movement. Don't fall for propaganda that people make up bro.'

  32. Benti to admin to not allow foul language on this forum. This is a Sikh forum that should try and uphold the values of Guru Granth Sahib. When Gursikhs communicate with each other they always speak with pyaar and respect even if they disagree with each other. Resorting to name calling and swear words is not right and should not be allowed on this forum. It does not set a good example especially to the youth who I am sure read this forum. It is disappointing that we cannot communicate with pyaar, we are all children of Guru Sahib and although we have differences of opinon we are chele of the same Guru, Dhan Guru Nanak Dev ji.

  34. Priceless, Divine Diamonds - VII Sriman Sant Isher Singh Ji Maharaj Rara Sahib Wale 31. Waheguru Simran One should not torture the body if its not possible to do Abhiyaas or sit in Samadhi because of illness or physical weakness. Instead, it is better to remain in bed and maintain state of internal bliss by being witness to the state of absolute nothingness. Desires vanish, worries end, mind becomes carefree. That person, who does not long for anything, is king of kings. 32. The joys of Liberation One must possess the following qualities to truly enjoy the state of Liberation: 1. Upraam (ਉਪਰਾਮ): To completely forget all past events. 2. Vairaag (ਵੈਰਾਗ): To consider the tangible (ਅਸਥੂਲ), the subtle (ਸੂਖਸ਼ਮ), the individual and the cosmic (ਸਮਸ਼ਟੀ, ਵਿਅਸ਼ਟੀ), causes (ਕਾਰਨ), the universe (ਪਰਪੰਚ), etc. as mere fragments of imagination; to have desire for absolutely nothing. 3. Bodh (ਬੋਧ): The Soul is unique and beyond the physical body (ਅਸਥੂਲ ਸਰੀਰ), subtle body (ਸੂਖਸ਼ਮ ਸਰੀਰ), five elements (ਪਾਂਚ ਪ੍ਰਾਣ), organs of action (ਕਰਮ ਇੰਦ੍ਰੇ), organs of knowledge (ਗਿਆਨ ਇੰਦ੍ਰੇ), the mind and intellect (ਅੰਤਹਕਰਨ); to establish it into the ocean of absolute nothingness. 4. Ekaant (ਇਕਾਂਤ): To completely empty the mind from inside and outside is true solitude. One should experience the state of nothingness by practising the above methods, a state that is the absolute Truth. Forms do not liberate anyone. Four types of people exist in this illusion-roop world: 1. Paamar (ਪਾਮਰ): Those who do not possess qualities like Satsang, and holy virtues, and their knowledge-roop eyes are totally blinded. Considering this world as real and true source of happiness, they indulge in all sorts of bad actions. Such people are called Paamars. Such people fall in the deepest pits of hell when their life ends. 2. Vishayee (ਵਿਸ਼ਈ): Those who carry out philanthropic actions and expect rewards like material, fame or heaven in return. 3. Jigyaasu (ਜਗਿਆਸੂ): Those who desire for Moksha and nothing else, and are resourceful in achieving that. 4. Gyanvaan (ਗਿਆਨਵਾਨ): Those who are liberated; their worldly illusion has ended. They only know and see the One in everything and remain established in that Oneness. Maru Sri Kabir. Thou has forgotten thy religion, O madman! O thou has forgotten thy religion. Thou fill thy belly, sleep like a beast and lose thy human life. Pause. Thou mingle not with the society of saints ever and are engrossed in false pursuits. thou wander like a dog, a swine and a crow. Thou shall soon arise and depart. Thou deem thyself ad great and others but small. They who are evil in thought, word and deed; Them I have seen going to hell. The lustful, the wrathful, the clever, the deceitful and the idlers. They waste their life in slandering others and remember not their Lord ever. Says Kabir, the fools, the block-heads and the brutes meditate not on their Lord. They realise not the Lord's Name. How shall they be ferried across? (Ang 1105, Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji Maharaj) 33. Thoughts on Saadhan Chatshatey 1. Vivek (ਵਿਵੇਕ): Soul is Sat-Chit-Anand (existence, thought, bliss) in totality. The body and the universe is misery-roop myth. My true form is the Self, not the body. This is called Vivek. 2. Vairaag (ਵੈਰਾਗ): Renunciation of pleasures and delights by considering them false and misery-roop; to have interest in immersing the senses in the ocean of perpetual bliss of the Soul is true Vairaag. 3. KhatSammati (ਖਟਸੰਮਤੀ): There are six ways: (i) Samm (ਸਮ): Externally control the mind. (ii) Damm (ਦਮ): Stop the organs of knowledge from indulging in objects of pleasure (control on the senses). (iii) Upraam (ਉਪਰਾਮ): Consider pride, woman (opposite sex), land, etc. as misery-roop and have no expectations (ਉਦਾਸ) from them. (iv) TatKhasha (ਤਤਿਖਸ਼ਾ): Develop tolerance for heat, cold, hunger and thirst. (v) Shardha (ਸ਼ਰਧਾ): Have undying faith on Guru Sahib and Gurbani. (vi) SamaDhaan (ਸਮਾਧਾਨ): When All mental activity turns inwards (Antarmukhi). 4. MamukhShakta (ਮਮੁਖਸ਼ਤਾ): The intense longing for end to all sufferings is called MamukhShakta (ਮਮੁਖਸ਼ਤਾ). Four methods of obtaining Knowledge: 1. Sarvan (ਸਰਵਨ): When the intense longing for liberation develops within, the Guru imparts the words of wisdom of Oneness and merges him in the Brahm. 2. Mannan (ਮਨਨ): With absolute conviction, he sits in peaceful environment and contemplates on these true words. 3. Nidheyasan (ਨਿਧਿਆਸਨ): He perseveres in regular Abhiyaas and transforms his consciousness into another form of these words. 4. Saakheyat (ਸਾਖਿਆਤ): In this Avastha, the Self saroop, which is Sat-Chit-Anand, the formless and absolute nothingness, becomes visible, like an object in hand. This ultimately brakes the shackles of all sufferings and total liberation is achieved. Kabir, repeating "Thy Name" I have become like 'Thee'. In me now "I" has remained not. When difference between others and myself has been removed, then wheresoever I see, there I see but Thee, O Lord. (Ang 1375, Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji Maharaj) 34. The web of Kaal Kaal has laid out attachment-roop trap, with the bait of words, senses, forms and pleasures spread inside it. Hunter lays out a trap on the ground and spread bait, ignorant animals come to eat and get trapped and ultimately killed. Similarly, human beings get trapped in the web of Kaal and repeatedly go through cycle of birth and death, and burn in fires of hell because of their desires. Freedom from the web of Kaal is achieved when true wisdom is born within. The fish did not pay attention to the net in the brackish and unfathomable sea. Why did the very clever and beautiful fish have so much confidence? Because of her doing (folly) she was caught. Death cannot be averted from over her head. O Brother! do then deem death hovering over thy head like this. As is the fish, so is the man. Death's noose falls over him, unaware. pause. (Ang 55, Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji Maharaj) 35. Non-Duality The Non-dual entity is imperishable, undisturbed by thought, it is the state of absolute nothingness that is beyond the realm of sense. This Smaadh roop nothingness in its Maya is known as world, and the same world-roop is called Brahm, ParmSelf in the Gyan Avastha. Just like dreams belongs to the dreamer alone, similarly He is everything, and everything is He. I am in the absolute nothingness, in the universe, in the ignorance and in the Gyan Avastha. There is nothing else except Me. Those who speak and babble on and on, are truly dead. God is not far away - O God, You are right here. I have seen that the whole world is engrossed in Maya. O Nanak, through the Guru's Teachings, I meditate on the Naam, the Name of the Lord. ||4||17|| (Ang 354, Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji Maharaj) ...to be continued ...
